Clean, tidy, well-organised care operation with residents well looked after on a kind supervision system. Staff trained and organised well with a first class, hands-on ability of patience and understanding.
The management helped the relations and residents families to a high standard of honesty and
advice. Every phone call was answered with patience and clarity.

My Mother-in-law was in Halden Heights for 8 weeks after a spinal injury and is now back home, with support, leading an independent life. At 97 this is an achievement. All the staff are caring and the physio team were brilliant encouraging her to walk again and giving her the confidence she needed.

The staff at Halden Heights are friendly and approachable. The rooms and lounge are always clean and tidy. Residents are treated well and with respect. The food for the residents is of good quality but the menu could be more varied. The entertainment team work extremely hard but appear to be under-resourced.

My relative has been at Halden Heights for 10 months. Staff have shown a good understanding and awareness of both her mental and physical needs and this has helped my cousin to settle and increasingly feel more at one in her environment. My cousin tells me that staff are kind o her and she has good
meals. Staff are kind and welcoming when I visit. I am kept informed and updated of developments and feel comfortable to ask questions. Although my relative opts out of activities they are on offer each day weekdays and many residents benefit from these.

I came to Halden Heights on the 7th of August after a fall when I broke my femur and after surgery. I was on the second floor. My home in Folkstone and my daughters home in Westfield are twenty miles away. At first, I had to buzz to move from the chair to the bed but gradually became more independent.
Many of those who helped me dress, brought food, answered buzzers were foreign. They were cheerful and willing.


The food was good and plentiful. Physiotherapy was encouraging and reassuring. I was clearly told what to do. The staff went out of their way to get me home. My main problem was boredom, especially on the weekends. Although there is a garden, I was not told I could go. There are activities on the ground floor. I did not realise I could go. I found it disconcerting that some of the carers would often talk amongst themselves, calling loudly and laughing.

Lovely place to be transferred from hospital for rehabilitation.
Staff very good and enjoy their job and surroundings.
Very clean and organised, lovely feeling as you visit.
Plenty of parking and great village to be in.
Most grateful for all the help and support as we don't live locally and felt
secure our relative is being given the best care possible by such caring staff in these economic cost cutting times of change.

My husband spent the last 2 years of his life at Halden Heights. The staff were caring, friendly and help was always there when needed and he was treated with dignity. I was acknowledged by name when I visited and updated on how he was. His room was clean, the food a good quality and there was a lovely
warm atmosphere in the home.

Daisy

Daisy Delgado

Job Title: Registered Manager Joined: 2011

Meet our esteemed manager, Daisy Delgado. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the Philippines and is a qualified overseas nurse who gained professional registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council in 2001. Starting her career in the NHS as a staff nurse, senior staff nurse, and Deputy Ward Manager, Daisy specialized in Trauma and Orthopaedics as well as Elderly Care.


In 2009, she completed her Leadership training and workshop with flying colours and helped develop the hospital as the first Orthopaedic Practice Development unit in the private sector. Later, in December 2011, she joined the newly opened Halden Heights Care Community as a Deputy Manager and Clinical Manager, where she worked closely with various multidisciplinary agencies to manage the Health and Social Care Village unit in the Nursing home. This was a pilot study of the EKHUFT to support patients who require rehabilitation and assessment of their health and social needs before discharge home. Daisy is incredibly passionate about her role in rehabilitating patients and ensuring the provision of exceptional care at all times.


In her free time, Daisy enjoys having her family around and singing, often heard around the home. Her vision for Halden Heights is to continue providing the best possible service with a caring and compassionate approach, ensuring that the staff are trained and equipped to meet the needs of our clientele. Effective communication throughout the home, along with an open-door policy with everyone, is essential to her.
