My mother first went to Halden Heights Care Community as a rehabilitation patient. She received excellent care and stayed there as a resident until she died. The care and dedication of the staff cannot befaulted. They are a fantastic team who really do care. Thank you.

nb. The accounts department needs a more professional approach with correspondence.

My mum has just spent three weeks in Halden Heights following a three week stay in hospital. She has received excellent care during this time and the staff are all lovely. She has been given nutritious food and from being hardly able to walk after the hospital stay, she progressed to walking to and from the lounge with encouragement.

I came to Halden Heights Care Community for my rehab time. I was so pleased with the home and also all staff. Any small problems we have are soon taken care of at that same time.

The food here is so good for you as we have fresh vegetables with all our meals. I have been in other rehabs because I have a balance problem - hence lots of broken bones. etc

I have been well looked after during my time here as a rehab patient. The staff are caring and courteous. My only reservation is lack of choice for vegetarians like myself. too many salads rather than hot vegetable dishes but the food is fresh and healthy. The physiotherapists are especially commendable and supportive in their rehab programme.

Although a long way from home I have been extremely happy at Halden Heights as their restorative treatment has worked for me and I go home on Thursday 20th august 2022. The staff are so caring and kind and although extremely busy are also happy and sing.

I have many food intolerances (coeliac and also dairy intolerant) and the home do their very best to ensure I have gluten/dairy free meals to build me up and am putting on weight. and have an appetite now (I had lost five stone this year due to underlying illness) More choices on the menu for those with special dietary needs would be most helpful.

I found the care at Halden Heights excellent in every way. My mother was a resident for just over three years; I don't think that she would have lived that long if she had not been happy or if the care had not been good.

The staff are kind, considerate and loving, they enabled my father to pass with dignity and peace. My mother and I will be forever in their debt for enabling us to spend time with him which we may not have had. The home is tranquil and the grounds provide a beautiful aspect which makes the place all the more special.

I was sent to Halden Heights to recover from a fractured femur
The accommodation and friendliness of staff was very good. I was given exercises to do while I was there to get my mobility back. The meals were varied and the portions good.
I did not know about the activities as it was a therapy stay.

The NHS funded my stay so can't answer the value for money section

Very impressed right from the start of my stay at Halden Heights Care Community. All the staff are smartly dressed, hard-working, organised and polite. You are always treated with dignity, support and care, and the staff still make time to spend with you if needed. The food and drinks are to a very high standard and fresh delivered to your room. The rooms are large, basic, bright with wall-mounted TVs. Rooms and washrooms are cleaned daily. this home would be my first choice. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff

Overall Experience

My father was at the home following a fall at home and a brief period of recuperation and assessment on the NHS floor. He then remained in the home until he passed away a year or so later. He had complex needs, he suffered from Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and had suffered a stroke prior to us choosing the home for him. Initially, we sent him to another home nearer to where we live, expecting the care to be at the standard offered at Halden Heights. Sadly that wasn’t the case and we swiftly moved him back thanks to the efforts of the manager and her staff. He settled back in quickly and his care from that day to the last was amazing. Even with Covid, we were kept in touch via videophone and he remained happy throughout. I can’t say enough how wonderful everyone was to him and us. I visited every other day prior to lockdown and I was made to feel very much part of the team looking after him. I can say that nothing was too much trouble for the staff. I can unreservedly recommend them.

Following a household fall and 3 days in hospital, I was transferred to Halden Heights with fracture problems and other nursing needs. The care and attention were amazing, the staff were outstanding, my en-suite room was a luxury, food was very good and my confidence improved each day. I was treated with the utmost respect and now I am back home.

Comfortable single room with freeview television service, and an en suite bathroom/WC. Friendly and caring staff. The food is prepared on-site, so the quality is decent, but it could be a bit hotter in temperature sometimes. The only criticism I have is that I think the care provider should look into a patient WiFi service, so users can video call family and friends.
