My father recently had a two week respite stay at The Close. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and welcoming, the facilities and grounds are excellent, and we wouldn't hesitate to send my father back for another visit. A special thankyou to the two ladies who managed my father's transfers,
and to Maia (his new 'granddaughter').

I would like to say how impressed I am with the new manager, Rachel and how well she is managing this home. She has taken my mother's needs very seriously and have seen a huge improvement in my mother, who I thought would never be like this again. She takes all my concerns seriously and addresses problems
immediately.
Finally, I feel I am being listened to. Also, I would like to thank Kerry, who is a brilliant support to me and my family, I think she is underappreciated for her constant help and support.
Reply from Eleanor Healthcare Group, Hartley House Team at Hartley House Care HomeThank you so much for sharing this. Lavenders

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mum came to Lavenders on a 2 week respite to see if she wanted to be in a care home in the first place. She was very worried and so were we. We didn't need to worry, because from the first week we could see a change in mum, she was very happy again after being on her own for nearly 3 years at home.
She was constantly saying what a nice place Lavenders was and how caring all the staff were to her. She made her mind up to stay full time very quickly and her anxiety and worrying about falling at home seemed to go away. Mum enjoys all the things that the staff have planned during the day and she likes to join in. All of the staff are really friendly to her family and always say hello when we turn up. All in all we couldn't have found a nicer place for her to live safely and in the knowledge we know she is being looked after very well.
Reply from Eleanor Healthcare Group, Lavender's Team at LavendersThank you so much for sharing this. We know how worrying that first step can be, so it's lovely to hear how quickly things turned around and how much more settled and happy your mum feels. That sense of reassurance for both her and your family is so important. We're really grateful for your trust, and it's wonderful to know it feels like the right place for her.

My 98 year old mother was transferred to Bradbury House from Hospital 10 days ago. This is a big challenge for my mum as until 2 months ago mum was mobile and enjoyed trips out. Now mum is bed bound. This is all new to me and the family too. The staff are so caring and nothing is too much trouble, they
are like extended family. Mum's room is lovely and cosy with a lovely view of the trees. The whole Care Home is kept very clean. Thank you for welcoming mum and for the really kind way that you look after her.

We have only been visiting Halden Heights for the last 4 months. During our visits, the staff are very attentive, but there are times when they are stretched.
We have not been involved with any activities, as my partner is no longer interested, nor does he understand what is going on.
The old building
is beginning to look a little tired, and redecoration should be considered over the next 12 months.
Day to day updates and liaison with the staff is good, we are kept informed of the deterioration and prognoses that is part of the dementia road.

Halden Heights and the staff were not just a fantastic care home in looking after my dear dad, they were a family to us. I have never seen such care giving, time and love given ho it was given to us, at such a terrible, difficult time.
All of Dad's care needs were met, and any little needs or problems

My husband moved into Bradbury House Nursing Home, Aylesford in August 2025 for respite care whilst I was having chemotherapy treatment and necessary recovery. He was there for 5 months. Whilst there he was extremely well cared for. The staff were so kind to him and made him very welcome. His room
was well equipped with everything he could possibly want and was always kept so clean. The meals were varied, suiting all tastes and the Christmas lunch was superb. Activities were varied and a lot of fun, some being cleverly devised to give residents some exercise as well as enjoyment.
I would highly recommend Bradbury House.

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
My mother spent nearly 8 months at Halden Heights. She had complex health needs which required specialist nursing. We found the care to be consistent and good. The medically qualified nursing staff were extremely supportive - both for helping my mother settle in and keeping us, the family, up to date
and informed about her treatment. The carers were friendly and a number of them developed a real rapport with my mother - not easy as she was deaf. Against the odds the staff managed to coax and encourage my mother to sit in the residents' lounge each day - no mean feat as she was very frail and mainly bed-bound when she arrived. It's a challenging time when a family member needs to move into care, but the management and staff worked well to ease the transition for us all. We attended a number of the 'friends & family' activities that were put on for everyone to enjoy - it was lovely to see staff and residents getting involved in the entertainment. HH is a good and caring facility.
Reply from Eleanor Healthcare Group, Halden Heights Team at Halden Heights Nursing HomeThank you so much for sharing such a thoughtful and honest reflection. It means a great deal to hear that your mum received the specialist care and support she needed, and that both she and your family felt well looked after throughout. We know how difficult that transition can be, so it's heartening to know the team helped make it a little easier. Your kind words about the connection the staff built, especially given the challenges, truly mean a lot. We're so pleased those shared moments, like the friends and family activities, brought some light during a difficult time. Thank you again for your trust and support.
