During my wife's three and a half months at the home, she has been treated with dignity and compassion. The food is way above average restaurant and wonderfully presented on the plate. We cannot praise the home enough. The home manager leads by example; she has time for everyone. Thank you.

I stayed for 2 weeks to recuperate after hip surgery, as I live on my own. Everything worked really well, and I was able to spend the two weeks as I wished with all the support I needed from the staff.
I would recommend this to anyone in my situation who needed that form of support after surgery.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. It's wonderful to hear that you felt supported and had the space to recover in your own way - that balance is so important. My husband has been a resident for nearly 6 months. He is very happy and says how much he likes Hartley House. It is a very happy, relaxed environment, and residents are able to go where they like on the premises. Everyone is treated with kindness and respect. The care here is excellent. Much is done
to provide an interesting environment for all the residents.

I would like to know why there is a lack of entertainment , my Mum who enjoyed the singer every week (as a lot of the residents did) seems to be coming less and less . The activities are really good that they do, but they all used to enjoy the entertainment E.G parrots ,animals and much more ,as i visit
my Mum 3 or 4 times a week I seem to of noticed it more.
Reply from Eleanor Healthcare Group, Hartley House Team at Hartley House Care Home

Thank you so much for your thoughtful message. It really means a lot that you've taken the time to share your observations. We're so glad to hear how much your mum, and others, enjoyed the regular entertainment. We completely understand how noticeable the change has been, especially for those who visit often and see the day-to-day rhythm. Please know that we are actively working on introducing new activities and experiences to keep things fresh, engaging, and meaningful for everyone. I arrived at Halden Heights having had a complete left hip replacement and was unable to walk. After excellent care, I have enjoyed walking in the garden (with crutches) and leave HH able to walk (almost without crutches). All the staff from top to bottom have cared for me and met all my needs with
a friendly, happy smile. I could not have been looked after better.

I recently spent two weeks in Halden Heights for respite care after an operation. The medical staff and carers were all very good. The lady who cleaned my room most days was very thorough and friendly. My main concern is about the food and its presentation. Very often, the food and drinks were lukewarm.
The crockery was haphazard. Sandwiches were served on saucers or pudding bowls - never on a plate. Drinks could be in anything from a mug, a cup or a china cup. Sometimes on a saucer and once on a plate. I think extra training is needed in that department. However, overall the experience was good.
Reply from Eleanor Healthcare Group, Halden Heights Team at Halden Heights Nursing Home

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback. We really appreciate your honesty and your kind words. We're so pleased to hear that you felt well cared for by the medical team and carers during your respite stay, and that our housekeeping staff helped make your time with us more comfortable. We're also very grateful that you raised concerns about the food service and presentation. It's clear that consistency was lacking, and we take that seriously. Your comments have been noted and will be shared with the relevant team to ensure improvements are made, especially around presentation and temperature control. Thank you again for your balanced and thoughtful feedback. We're glad your overall experience was positive, and we wish you continued recovery and good health.

From the moment we contacted the manager of Halden Heights, we felt that we were dealing with a caring and professional care home. Our father's needs were complex and all of staff worked very hard to keep him safe, comfortable and as happy as possible. They are full of positive energy, diligent and
will go the 'extra mile'. The expansive garden was a real benefit, given that our father loved being outdoors. We have no hesitation in recommending Halden Heights based on our experience. They have our respect & gratitude!

We couldn't be happier with dad's placement at Hartley House. The staff are always friendly and because of the layout it is always easy to find someone if you need someone. The internal courtyard means that even with dementia, dad is able to open a door and go outside. Huge thanks to two specific

This is my first experience of a care home. Excellence is the word I use and mean in connection with this home.
I am impressed with the width of care which includes stimulation of residents in very pleasant ways from music to playing games. Therapeutic care is beneficial all round it seems.
The
level of friendliness, love ad care of the staff, impresses and is reflected in the peace and happiness of those in care.
I cannot fault anything other than difficult passing at busy times.

Mum was engaged with all daily activities, which helped keep her mentally/physically active.
She was a little anxious initially about the thought of staying, but was made to feel so welcome
