I have found the care and support very good. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. I have enjoyed all the meals. They are very good. The activities are very variable and some are better than others. It would be nice to have some activities at the weekends.

My mother came to Appleton Lodge after a fall at home for some respite care. She has been very well looked after during her stay and her health has improved a great deal. All the staff are very friendly and approachable and answer any questions openly regarding mum. The care she has received has been excellent. She has enjoyed all the meals and her appetite has returned.

The staff are very caring, friendly and professional.
They go out of their way to engage with my Father.
The home is clean.
The look to provide a wide range of activities and hopefully will find a wheel chair largest enough to enable Dad to go on excursions.
He is very tall,

He enjoys his food, particularly his cooked breakfast.

My father has been a resident of Appleton Lodge for just over 18 months. He's 93 years old and aside from immobility issues, remains mentally very sharp. Something I always say is that no-one, sorry few, people want to leave their own home to live in a care home, and this is the same for Dad. However, he has settled in well at Appleton Lodge and this is primarily because it has a much more family-style, but wholly professional, feel to its environment. Looking for a Home for him, opened our eyes to the broad spectrum of care and environments across this industry. In Appleton Lodge, we as Dad's family, feel we could not have found better. I personally visit several times a week, and am welcomed with courtesy and professionalism. Dad repeatedly tells me that the care receives is 'Excellent'. He really is looked after 24:7 and both day and night he is looked after with care, courtesy and sensitivity. This sums up the staff and care at Appleton Lodge.

Absolutely amazing home with lovely caring staff who go above and beyond. Food was amazing . The home is spotlessly clean and feels very family orientated. The staff are always smiling and caring. My dad was only there for 3 months before passing but my family take great comfort in knowing it was the best 3 months he had in there. I really cannot praise this place enough nurses the carers the cleaners and the chef.

My mum spent the last month of her life in Appleton Lodge. The care has been exemplary. Every single member of staff has made a difference to both mum's stay and in making the family comfortable when visiting.
The nurses acted with professionalism but also with heart and genuine empathy.
The rooms are nice and large and the communal areas are very well appointed, welcoming and comfortable.

I have nothing but praise for everybody involved in the running of Appleton Lodge, and I thank you all

My mother has just completed 2 weeks of a respite stay. She seems very happy. The staff are all very friendly and caring yet professional. She likes the food and activities. Her sight is such that she can't fully join in all the activities but she likes to go to them anyway for the social contact. She seems to me to be more alert than she was at her previous residence and I think this is because there is more going on here.

This appears to be a well-run establishment. The registered nurses are excellent as are most of the carers. My mum says the catering and cleaning staff are really helpful and kind. My mum has always appeared clean and well taken care of. Any issues are addressed quickly and competently. I have no concerns about the care she is receiving as it is of a high standard. Keep up the good work!

My mum has only been in Appleton for a number of weeks, the process was smooth and all the staff involved were extremely helpful and friendly. As soon as I visited Appleton I felt the warmth and care all the staff have for their residents, as it’s such a small home it felt like a family environment. Mum has settled well. Her room is very cosy always clean and has a lovely view of the downs.

We have been very happy with the whole process from initial contact, through assessment and finally getting my godmother settled in. The staff are lovely, friendly yet professional and always happy to help. The rooms are very comfortable and have a pleasant outlook plus the communal area is large, light and airy. If there is a downside, it would be a minor fact that my godmother likes her breakfast earlier but she does realise there are other residents that need feeding too!

I cannot fault the facilities and the care my father is receiving, however, the main meal is not fit for purpose.
When you opened that facility I understand that you had a chef who cooked the food on site.
My father does not eat soggy vegetables or minced food.
He has all his own teeth, has all his faculties, and does not appreciate being fed nothing short of invalid food.
At £1500 a week as a family we expect something much better.

One size does not fit all.

Appleton Lodge is an amazing care home. Not just a beautiful, homely new build, as that is only skin deep, but also in the love and care and dignity they give to my mother every day. She is treated like this is her home, and with the respect that a person who has 6 children, 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren deserves.
