View Full Details of Green Willow Residential HomeAs my mother becomes increasingly confused, the staff are caring for her kindly and with compassion while keeping her safe and comfortable. They have also been sympathetic to family members when visiting and in need of a cup of tea and some support.
The staff at Green Willow, from managers to carers, kitchen staff and cleaners, all work hard and usually with a smile. The home therefore has a good atmosphere and my Dad has settled well. The environment is attractive with 2 lounges and lovely gardens wrapped around the building. There are obviously challenges with providing care to residents with different needs, both physical and mental, and the team appear to try hard to provide individualised care. Visitors, both family and friends, are welcomed and can join in activities as they wish. There is an excellent alarm system which detects if a resident is on the floor in their room. Residents can have their own landline phone and wi-fi appears to be adequate My only issues are with the call bell system, with bells ringing frequently. As a visitor, I find this challenging, but Dad is deaf and with his room door closed, it does not distress him. I do not know a solution to this - care staff are busy with other residents
Our mother has lived at Green Willow for a few years. Despite her frailties and disabilities she has become part of the community which is Green Willow. Every member of the team makes it their mission to look after every aspect of care. The team understands the needs and foibles of each resident, and they adapt to and respect their individuality. Communications between family members with Green Willow are excellent which is reassuring and appreciated especially by those who are not nearby.
My husband came initially for 2 weeks respite after spending 5 weeks in Worthing Hospital, he was still poorly so we made the decision to get respite which went well, so well in fact that he became a permanent resident. He has slowly made improvement. He is well looked after and the staff take the greatest care of him. He likes the food and I am welcomed whatever time I turn up (which helps me). He goes out on bus trips and joins in activities although also quite happy in his own room with a view of the pretty garden.
Since my parents have settled in well since moving into Green Willow in December. They have been very impressed as have I of the excellence of the staff and the attention given. It has enabled me to relax and go away on holidays knowing that they are well looked after.
As a daughter living a long distance away from my mother, it's a relief to know Mum is well cared for and feeling safe. It was a tricky transition to move after living independently, but staff at Green Willow were alongside her all the way, helping her to adapt and settle in. The staff are well-trained, professional, with knowledge, skills and experience. Mum is treated kindly, with dignity and respect and given choice. She has privacy, yet offered opportunities to join in socially or take part in activities if she wants to. She's supported to participate in entertainment, yet no pressure if she wants to take time out and rest. I'm welcome at Green Willow. All staff (including Chef) are cheerful, friendly and happy in their jobs. It's a relaxed, informal 'homely' atmosphere. Living at a distance, I'm impressed by the open communication and information-sharing at Green Willow. It keeps me well-informed and it's very reassuring to feel involved in Mum's care (albeit from a distance).
Green Willow is a lovely small residential home set in a beautiful well-kept garden. It is well-maintained, spotlessly clean and the rooms are light and sensibly equipped. However, it is the warmth and skills of the staff that make it outstanding. Everyone interacts positively and respectfully with the residents. Whether they are bringing the laundry, cleaning the room, fixing things, providing personal care, administering medication or delivering food, snacks and drinks, it is clear that there is real care as well as much laughter. The programme of activities is varied, appropriate and delightful. It caters to a wide range of interests and needs. As a family, we are so pleased that Mum is a resident at Green Willow.
If only all homes for the elderly could be run so well. The staff are so caring, yet still very professional. They always put the resident's welfare and happiness first. Immaculately clean, good varied menu, daily activities. I would recommend this home 100%.
My partner and I visit my grandmother at Green Willow every week with our cat. The staff are always friendly and accommodating. The residential room is always clean and tidy. The food always looks good and healthy. They have a good range of activities. The last time I visited they were in the lounge watercolour painting. We are always offered tea and cake when we visit and the staff are always careful not to let our cat out of my grandmother's room when we visit! My grandmother is well looked after, she always looks well and healthy. She recently moved rooms and that was handled really well. She has a newly decorated room with extra space and windows which she seems pleased about. Thank you to all the staff at Green Willow for taking great care of my grandmother.
My Mum and Dad are residents at Green Willow and they are really happy there. I find all of the staff there absolutely brilliant, so caring, so helpful and looking after Mum and Dad really well. They keep us really well informed about any issues and are always very approachable and helpful with any of my issues and questions.
All the staff are wonderful. They take great care of my mother, with tremendous patience and encouragement to enable her to keep doing what she can. When she gets anxious or confused they calm her down and make her feel safe.
The home is very clean, friendly, kind and patient to my mum. It has a lovely garden, that my mother loves. They provide entertainment both mornings and afternoons and even take the residents out occasionally. My mother can't see well or hear well and her mobility is bad. Her room is kept very clean and comfortable. She is happy there. She doesn't have to join in with the entertainment if she doesn't want to. All the staff are very caring and helpful. My mum is a Pescatarium and they cater for her diet. The food is lovely. Home-made cakes at tea. I am very glad I found a home for her and they had a room for her. The staff keep you informed if there is any health problem with her and I can't praise the place more highly. The home doesn't smell, except for lovely food sometimes. It is in a nice quiet location and is pleasing to the eye. As I say I can't praise it enough.
I would like to thank the three care staff who made me so welcome when I came to visit my stepmother recently. They were very attentive when they served us lunch in the lovely sunny lounge. I also had a chat with your chef who kindly gave me the recipe for the delicious meatballs! I really enjoyed my day. There is always a happy atmosphere when I visit Green Willow and the staff are friendly and approachable whenever I have a query. I feel reassured that my stepmother is well cared for and has a variety of activities to enjoy during the day.
I cannot fault the staff for the care and attention that they give my father who is suffering from dementia. They are patient and caring, looking after him and making him as comfortable as possible. There are always activities on offer. The food is good and plentiful. There is a lovely garden with a huge fish pond for the residents. I can relax knowing he is in good hands.
My Great Aunt has been at Green Willow for nearly two years and I can see she is well looked after. Lots of activities and trips out make a huge difference to her well-being. All of the staff are wonderful and really do care about the residents. She is so happy there. Well done Green Willow!
Dad has resided at Green Willow for many years now. Having spent time researching the local area and other homes, Green Willow was by far the nicest, cleanest and friendliest. The staff can't do enough to help, no matter what the issue. Every month has a fun packed activity calendar. So glad we chose Green Willow for Dad.
My mother very quickly settled into her new surroundings. A full range of activities keep her entertained and the menu more than satisfies her appetite. Her room is comfortable and well appointed. All of the staff are very friendly.
I have found Green Willow Residential Home to be a very good residential home for my 95-year-old aunt. She is very happy there and she is looked after. The entertainment, in particular, is very good and keeps her interested.
Mum only agreed to go to a care home for respite care if it was to be Green Willow as she already knew of its good reputation. During what sadly turned out to be the last few remaining weeks of her life, I felt that she could not have received better care and attention from each and every one of the lovely staff there. Mum enjoyed her time at Green Willow and her bright, clean, spacious room with a view on to the magnificent garden. My impression is that the home is very well run by an experienced, friendly team headed up by a very capable Registered Manager.
The staff are so pleasant here, nothing is too much trouble, you ask and they try to help you. Once again, learn to be patient and learn that everyone does their best, that is all you can ask. The food is well presented and it is varied and if you want extra roasties you just ask. While I was staying, the staff gave me lovely baths which I hadn't had for many years so it was a lovely treat.
