View Full Details of Herries LodgeMy grandmother has always refused to go into a care setting until she visited Herries Lodge. She has nothing but praise for the whole staff team, they go above and beyond. The love and care they give to each resident shines through. I cannot fault the place at all, it's a home from home environment with angels caring for your loved ones. We don't regret our decision and my grandmother now has a fulfilled, meaningful life.
Mum was a resident since October 2022. She died recently. I cannot thank everyone at the home enough for their care, support and friendship to Mum. It is an exceptional home. The staff, facilities, entertainment, food and cleanliness. She could not have had a better home. The staff were always kind and friendly towards me and the support they gave at the end of Mum's life will always be appreciated.
The care my mother in law received in the two and a half years she was in Herries Lodge was exceptional from start to finish and on every level. The food, laundry, housekeeping etc cannot be faulted. The day to day care and friendship she received was second to none. Sadly my mother in law passed away but the care, love and dignity she received in her last days will never be forgotten and the support given to the family was over and above at a very difficult time. I can never praise or thank them enough. Truly outstanding.
My close friend moved in recently and she has had nothing but good words about how comfortable and relaxed she now feels and that she should of made the move years ago the staff are always polite and respectful nothing is too much management are approachable and very professional would highly recommend Herries to anyone looking for care I know where I'm going to go when the time comes
Mum was in Herries Lodge for six years but sadly passed away two years ago, and throughout that time, the care and support from the staff was excellent. Now my sister in law's mother is a resident. Once again, I can only say things haven't changed. The staff are lovely, making sure everyone receives all the care, help and kindness they need. Carry on with the good work!
After caring for my wife for almost 3 years I had a stroke and was put in hospital for a while, my two children had to put her into Herries Lodge Care Home. When I left hospital, I visited her with my daughter and found my wife happy and quite settled in, which was a relief to me. Alzheimer's is a awful complaint but my wife was happy with the home and staff, all which are lovely. The rooms for each patient are just like a 1st class hotel, she enjoys the food in the care home and she has put on weight whilst there. She is very happy with her room and her care whilst she is in the care home - she is very happy with all the staff and care. All in all our family are quite happy with it. She enjoys the concerts with the singers and she sings along.
Mum has been at Herries for a couple of years and we have found all staff so caring and friendly. It was very good, but seems to go from strength to strength, the activities seem to have increased and everyone is encouraged to join in, with a structured time table of events on display. It was mum's birthday and staff went above and beyond to make her day special, setting the table with china tea set and cakes, with banners and balloons out, which was lovely. Thank you to all staff who are wonderful.
Since my dad has been here we have been really happy with how he has been helped to settle in and how wonderful the staff have been in ensuring this. All the family are happy with how he's settled in and how special they make it when my mum comes to visit on Sundays.
Fantastic place with great facilities and care. The staff are brilliant and work extremely hard to deliver the highest standard and quality of care they can. My gran is so happy being there which puts us all at ease, knowing she is ok and being cared for. Thank you all, for everything you do!
The care received by my mother is consistently excellent. She is always clean and looks well groomed, always wearing her own clothes. The food served is of high quality, freshly made at the premises and served hot and promptly. I would be happy to discuss any aspect of care provided.
I have been involved with Herries Lodge since shortly after it opened in 2012, when my mother became resident there until her passing in 2016. Having looked at other care homes Herries Lodge immediately shone out. The individualised care they provide is second to none. My mother was always very happy there and her stay there continues to provide us with happy memories of the times we spent there with her. When, at the beginning of this year, we once again needed residential care for a loved one we had no hesitation in contacting Herries Lodge and were thrilled when a room became available. It is a testament to the staff that after more than ten years so many of them are still there. The depth of knowledge they have of the needs of each resident is clear to see, along with the care and thought that goes into providing the very best personalised care possible. I would have no hesitation whatsoever in highly recommending Herries Lodge and all the wonderful staff who work there.
In 2012 we were looking for a care home for my mother-in-law. After visiting several care homes, sadly, the norm of all these homes was to be greeted by the overwhelming stench of urine until we visited Herries Lodge where this was not the case and still is not today. My mother-in-law's every need was met at all times and she was very happy there. When it came to end-of-life care, the care she received as well as ourselves from the staff was outstanding. Last year we moved 2 more relatives into Herries Lodge. Many of the staff were still working there, all remembered fondly my mother-in-law and also ourselves. Herries Lodge retains staff, unlike other care homes that rely all too often on agency staff. It really feels like family. Our 2 relatives, 2 very different characters, with differing needs were treated as individuals, and always with respect. Any changes in care plan is always discussed with us. Herries Lodge is a shining example how care homes can and should be run.
Staff are caring, compassionate and supportive. All areas and bedroom are clean and tidy with a adequate facilities. Food and drinks are good and regular. Always go out of their way to ensure we are up to date with what's happening. She couldn't be in a better place.
My nannan is so happy here and gets the proper care she needs 24/7. She has been a resident in Anchor for just over a year now and they have been fantastic. She is always clean and dressed nicely, and she loves the food they provide for her on a daily basis. It was recently her birthday and the chef even baked her a cake. Overall I think Anchor is a brilliant care home and I would 100% recommend.
My nana is well looked after, she's always clean and dressed well. Her room is always kept clean and tidy she enjoys doing the activities that take place at the care home. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, the fact that my Nan is safe is a piece of mind. Couldn't recommend the place enough.
Excellent care home, the best in the area and that comes from experience in frequently visiting them all through my job. All staff are knowledgeable and caring. They go above and beyond for the residents' comfort and happiness. Always smiling and showing real care and concern for the residents.
During 2023 Mum-in-law had respite care at Herries Lodge and in difficult times for the family, it was decided that Mum would reside at Herries Lodge for her future well-being and care. Since Mum's occupancy at the 'Lodge' to this day we cannot thank enough the Staff and Management for all the care, and dignity that they have given to Mum day by day. Mum has had her ups and downs including a hospital stay during this time but the staff have shown care, thoughtfulness and help to Mum at all these times. Speaking on behalf of the family, it was such a hard decision by us to place Mum into Residential Care, however with the understanding and help that we have had with the Herries Lodge Team it has helped in many ways for Mum's well-being. Mum's care and dignity that she has at Herries Lodge is a compliment together with our gratitude to all the carers and management at the Herries Lodge.
I have found all members of staff lovely. Very caring to mum and other residents. Feels like home their home, not a residential home. All staff have been helpful and very supportive to myself. As it was not an easy thing to go through but the staff and admin put my mind at ease in a very caring professional manner. It feels like one big family with many different personalities. The home is beautiful. Clean. Never smells of anything, modern colours and rooms are lovely.
My friend has been in the care of the wonderful people at Herries Lodge for over 2 years now. She has Alzheimer's. The care and love she receives here is exceptional and she is very settled. We are so grateful that she is safe and her days are happy. The staff also cared for our Mother during an exceptionally difficult period of her life. She too had Alzheimer's. She was treated with respect, kindness and patience towards the end of her life. We do not know what we would have done without this facility and the wonderful staff who work there. A special mention to the people who are part of the team. Thanks so much.
Both my mum and dad are in Herries Lodge due to their dementia. When we were looking at the unthinkable task of my parents moving into care we visited several care homes in the north of Sheffield as it's the area that they have lived in all their adult lives. We chose Herries Lodge based on the fact that it's a place we felt we could live. The staff are very helpful and encourage residents, and relatives to help out or join in with day-to-day tasks or any and all activities and not just treat residents like old sick people, the main thing for us is that they treat them with the kindness and respect they deserve.
