View Full Details of Exmouth HouseDad has been at Exmouth House for the last 2 and a half years. My brother and I looked round several local care homes but none of them felt quite right for Dad until we went to Exmouth House. The calm, friendly atmosphere, the lovely bedroom, the large communal lounge, the range of activities and the attentive staff made us immediately feel that Dad could be happy there. He settled in very quickly and I feel that he is safe and very well-looked after. The staff quickly got to know him and noticed what he liked and didn't like. The residents are treated as individuals, and always with respect and dignity. My brother and I both feel that we made the right choice for Dad.
Exmouth House especially the lovely Kinga, what can I say that woman has boundless energy and always there for you when you need reassuring, nothing ever seems too much trouble. Mum became of resident at Exmouth House a year ago , and I must say I never thought mum would settle, but low and behold she seems to have thrived in there bless her. I would also like to praise the lovely James too, always there when mum is feeling a little down he lifts her sprits and makes her feel like a Queen (his Words). Thank you Exmouth House for all the love and attention mum receives from you all. I feel safe in the knowledge mum is well cared for and safe in your hands. One big extended family.

The care team are compassionate & go above & beyond to ensure all mums needs are met. Always with a smile & treated with respect & dignity. Kat & Kinga keep us informed of how mum is & always keep us up to date with care or any issues that may occur. They know mum so well & are always on top of any concerns. Mums room is pretty & kept beautifully with all her own photos, books & treasures. Activities are very important to keep mum moving, busy & happy. Liz does a fab job & works hard with willing help from the staff. She invents fun activities. A lot of ideas come from the residents themselves. There are residents meetings so that mum can have a voice & feel valued. Liz is always open to ideas & suggestions . Mums receives regular prayers & holy communion which is important to her. Thank you all
Sadly my Mum passed away in August after living at Exmouth House for just over two years. I can't begin to say how happy I was with the care my Mum received whilst there and putting my mind at rest. I was kept updated with phone calls and video calls which was lovely. As I live in Essex, it meant I could only get down once a month to see Mum, it was a great relief to know she was well looked after and I could sleep soundly at night. There were always activities going on and outings. It has a real family feel to it. The staff are amazing and so welcoming. What I loved was you could just turn up at any time and spend as long as you wanted there. I would highly recommend Exmouth House, I shall miss seeing all the staff and residents there. Great team that I can't thank enough for everything
Exmouth House was a home from home for my Grandad, you could feel the love as soon as you stepped through the door. The communication was excellent and the whole team went above and beyond. Our family could not be more grateful for the care they gave not only my Grandad but our entire family.
Our mum moved to Exmouth House at age 99, when she was too frail to continue living in her own home even with support. She was very anxious on arrival but was quickly helped to settle. She spent the last 3 years of her life relaxed and happy, confident in the care she received and thriving on the personal attention, stimulating activities and warmth of relationships. Mum really appreciated the dignity and respect with which she was treated as she became increasingly dependent on others for basic necessities. As a family we found all staff friendly, welcoming and prepared to go the extra mile to give mum the best quality of life possible. All staff, whatever their roles, were excellent and the atmosphere of the home was remarkable.
I am a relative of someone who was in Exmouth House July - October 2024. The care and compassion for the residents was immediately apparent and the staff were always very attentive to residents needs. The staff were extremely kind and supportive to me and their communication was always excellent. I felt my relative was safe and well cared for. My relative was discharged back home but now goes to the Day Centre service that this home offers. We are all very happy and cannot thank the staff enough for their kindness and care.
My mother-in-law spent 4 weeks at Exmouth House following a fall in her flat which resulted in a hospital admission. Our family were very impressed with the care she received whilst at Exmouth House. All the staff we encountered were friendly and professional which really helped my mother-in-law to settle in. They really try hard to engage the residents and provide a wide range of activities for them to enjoy. The only reason for the short stay was the fact we were moved out of the area.
It was a relief to know that my father-in-law was safe and being helped. My heart goes out to all the staff at Exmouth House for being kind and caring. Thank you for calming him through difficult times
I can't rate Exmouth House high enough. Amazing place and staff. Mum gets excellent care. The staff are always willing to help, nothing is ever difficult. Mum always looks well cared for and is smiling. Thank you so much.
All of the staff have been so helpful to my brother-in-law. he can be difficult and stubborn but they handle him with fortitude and great humour. He grew to be very fond of everyone who tended to his needs. So well done to all involved.
The level of care hs been excellent and the resident constantly confirms this. A very safe and secure environment.
The staff and management treated my uncle with kindness and dignity in the few months he was with them. We felt that he was safe, comfortable, and content. Their care was exemplary. Thank you all.
My mother who suffers from vascular dementia plus Alzheimer's is very happy in Exmouth House. She constantly praises the staff and says how happy she is. I found the staff to be very welcoming and caring. They keep me informed of any health issues and also of any treatment given. I am also involved with any problems or difficulties arising in her daily life. It is really reassuring to be involved in my mother's care whilst knowing her care is first class. I appreciate all the care and support from all of the staff at Exmouth House.
My mum came in for respite for 2 weeks and really enjoyed herself and joined in all the activities, the staff and management are excellent and very supportive whilst in the home and even when Mum is at home, they well deserve to have an outstanding home.
After looking after my wife for 3 years she required care that I could not deliver as her illness progressed. Initially, respite, moving on to full residential, was supplied from early March 2023 at Exmouth House. We were extremely fortunate that capacity was available at that particular time. Since the first day it has been a very positive experience indeed. Due to her illness, she is "high maintenance" where personal hygiene is concerned. This is dealt with in a very professional and sympathetic manner. There is always a member of staff available to do "the necessary". In fact, the number of staff on duty at any one time is impressive. By my wife moving into Exmouth House a huge burden has been lifted off my shoulders and to know she is cared for in a really pleasant environment by caring people is fantastically reassuring. Being part of a charitable trust gives even more confidence regarding the long-term future. A very big thank you to the manager and staff.
With advanced dementia, my mother needed looking after in a home near to us. All the staff did their best to make her welcome. She immediately loved the staff, the food and the activities that she could cope with. When she had a fall, the staff were wonderful in their assistance through the hospital experience. (The hospital were less capable.) On her return, she was less mobile and needed to move to a downstairs room, the Manager, the Care Leader and others made this simple and happy. As her health declined, she had loving and respectful treatment from everyone, especially the Care Leader, another Care Lead and a Carer. When she became bedbound she was respectfully and lovingly treated including basic and unpleasant tasks by these people as well as Carers in particular and others. A member of staff from housekeeping needs a special mention for her personal loving support. It was also relaxed and easy dealing with admin through the Home Administrator. The best last year she could have had! Thank you.
The staff are wonderful, very caring and compassionate and are treating my mum with dignity - nothing is too much trouble. As this is all new to my sister and myself, we have many questions and queries which are answered promptly with a smile and provide reassurance. Mum's personal care is well provided for and they are attentive to her dietary needs which helps her to enjoy the food. There are plenty of activities available if you want to get involved. Her room is nice and well-equipped. The past few weeks have been incredibly stressful and worrying and Exmouth House have helped in some small way to relieve some of the stress. They are very welcoming to visitors and do not have strict visiting times. I have been nothing but impressed with what I have seen and am extremely grateful for the care and support the team provide - thank you.
My mother's personal care is so much improved - diet, hair, nails and general cleanliness. She has also slightly improved with her interaction and conversation. The manager was great in helping us facilitate transfer from hospital to place in the home, guiding us through the procedure.
My mother's cousin needed to move into a care home with provision for dementia with some urgency. I visited Exmouth house on Thursday and the manager arranged for an assessment to be done the following Monday. Mum's cousin was able to move in on Tuesday and everything was carried out efficiently and calmly. Mum's cousin seems to have settled in well during the past 3 weeks and says that the food is nice. She has been invited to go on a trip out. The staff have been very obliging and helpful with any requests or questions I have had, giving me peace of mind from Day 1.
