View Full Details of Hall GrangeOverall we were happy with the care given. Although the care home is primarily Residential/Dementia it would be good if staff were fully medically trained, which would give peace of mind to both residents and their families. Activities are good, however entertainment was lacking over the weekends and Bank holidays. It would be good if staff could encourage residents (where possible) to join in the activities or even to remind them of events planned for the day.
Our dad was at Hall grange from December 24 to February 25. Until his passing. Dad's care was very good carers on the whole did everything to make dad feel comfortable. The staff were very approachable and endeavoured to put right any problems we encountered.. Hall Grange is extremely clean and well maintained. Dad passed away in Hall grange and we found the staff to be so respectful and caring to us all on the very sad day that he passed. I have no hesitation in strongly recommending this lovely home.
Mum's ability to live independently sadly deteriorated over night. The situation was devastating. At time of great sadness and confusion, the staff at Hall Grange were heaven sent. Mum was taken in for Respite Care immediately, and was shown great compassion, care respect and love. Hall Grange is a beautiful place, full of grace and kindness.
From the minute Mum went into Hall Grange our worries ended. Mum's smile returned and as time went on, it was clear to see why, all the staff, not just her immediate carers, made efforts to care for Mum and engage with her. They all 'knew' Mum's personality and enjoyed looking after her, and Mum fed off this positive approach. Her time at Hall Grange was happy, and her passing in such a loving environment was as good as we could have wished for.
Hall Grange was by far the best care home offering support for my late wife over all the other care homes my family looked at. Sadly, my wife died just under a year from admittance. During that time she received very good care although activities to improve physical fitness could have been more frequent. All the staff from management to cleaners are very effective and caring.
A MASSIVE THANK YOU to all the staff at Hall Grange Shirley Church Rd Croydon...... From start to finish all the staff were so helpful to me . As I am new to this looking after my mum ...manageress showed us around and made us so welcome and able to bring mum back for her assessment. The carers help me fill in forms and mum able to check out room too. She sat in there with my daughter and had a cuppa. Mum was not willing to stay but after the 1st day she was settled. Great team work from the team... mum would laugh about with them and was a joy to see her so happy They were a dream team and work together so well . Other teams were also lovely . But forgot their names . Mum was only going to stay 1 week and stayed 4 weeks . I'm so happy we choice for her to stay while we were doing work on her bedroom .she just couldn't cope with the workmen and dusty house . I will definitely be booking mum in when we have our summer holiday . Peace of mind that she is happy too
My mother entered Hall Grange in February 2024 and was there until she passed away in October 2024. The care was excellent, mum was treated with dignity and compassion. The facilities were excellent, as was the food. Mum really liked the 'tea trolley' which came around twice a day, dispensing doughnuts and cake. All the staff were very kind and helpful and the management was excellent.
My mother has been living at Hall Grange since 2016. I am exceptionally happy with the care the home gives to my mother. The staff are so very helpful and nothing is too much for them to do. The home manager is proactive, attentive and resolves concerns immediately with reassurance. My mother is 105 years old and thriving at Hall Grange with the exceptional care they provide.
Called to see my cousin, we have to travel over 400 miles and can only visit once a year. We asked if a coffee could be served to us in her room and we were refused saying the tea trolley was not at that time on duty. We requested twice but no luck. At almost £7,000 per month, a coffee would have been a nice gesture.
My parents were/are well cared for and the quality of the environment within the home seems to be excellent. To me, the communal dining room seems very good for ensuring that residents leave their rooms several times a day. The gardens of the home are exceptional and, I know, much appreciated.
For three years the Hall Grange team provided outstanding care for my brother who suffered from early onset Parkinsons. The disease was challenging, but they patiently strived to understand him and ensure that he felt cared for and liked. The facilities were exactly what he needed, space and a magnificent outdoor area (called the Wilderness) that he loved. The whole family feel that my brother was fortunate, during his most vulnerable years, to be cared at Hall Grange, the Rose Unit deserves particular praise for where he spent most of his time.
We all had a wonderful barbecue with singing from the music therapist, guests, staff, and residents. The staff made sure everyone was well fed, got people joining in, and there was even some dancing! A lovely way to spend a Friday lunchtime and afternoon.
Hall Grange continues to provide superb care for my mum. She is looked after with kindness and care. We also feel support as a family. My young children love to visit several times a week and we get involved. It is a community. I feel happy that my mum is safe and well looked after.
All the family is happy with the care my mother receives at Hall Grange.
Very good, very friendly, helpful staff/volunteers, lovely atmosphere.
I enjoy it here. The staff are friendly and kind. The food is good.
My dad has been here since August 2023, transferred from hospital. Dad is very well cared for and we as a family love all the daily activities and Dad's meals are always in the dining room with familiar faces. Dad always seems pleased to see us and if unhappy will speak up and care managers are always happy to solve any issues.
Staff are lovely. Have always treated my mum with care, patience and respect. Could do with a few more activities. Sometimes the noise of the personal alarms gets to be wearing. Couldn't fault the care given by the staff though who are always kind and approachable even when it is not always easy. Food is well cooked and tasty.
I find the environment and the care that my aunt received at Hall Grange to be excellent. She always comments on the quality of the food and how her dietary requirements are met when I visit her. She really enjoys the activities provided.
The care a Hall Grange is excellent. Residents are spoken to with kindness even when just passing by in the corridor. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. There is a lovely 'feel' to Hall Grange. The community hub is a great place and my mum now has more company than she has had for years. Great range of activities, something to interest everyone I would think.
