Mum went into 'Hall Grange' new years eve 2025.
As a daughter I couldnt fault the care everyone showed her. Mums only complaint was the food (used to be a cook) although what we saw was adequate.
The staff were excellent, which I am grateful for making her time there comfortable.
Sad Mum never made it into the 'wilderness' although we often did essecially if we had the great grandchildren with us. Mum was a keen gardener and Lucy was a great help trying to involve Mum with the garden club.

Would diffently recommend care home.

My wife has been at Hall Grange since mid August 2025 and I with my two sons looked at Hall Grange (together with several others) for my wife who suffers from dementia and we were all thoroughly impressed by it including the gardens, the Wilderness and the area adapted for those suffering from dementia.

This initial impression has been more than justified by sons' and my experience. I go in frequently unannounced beforehand virtually everyday. The senior carers are very knowledgeable, experienced and helpful, kind and understanding. Furthermore all the carers I encounter are extremely friendly, caring and thoughtful and from my observations there is little turnover of staff which is particularly important in the case of those suffering from dementia. The staff appear to be happy in their work. It's very impressive that virtually all the staff (not only those on my wife's floor) know her name and greet her by such when they see her. There are many activities on offer but despite concerted efforts by the staff they have been unable to get my wife who also suffering from Parkinson's disease to engage for any substantial period

We are so grateful for the wonderful care my dad receives. The staff are truly amazing-kind, caring, professional, and always willing to go the extra mile. The home itself is warm and welcoming, with excellent facilities that make it feel comfortable and homely. Moving dad into a care home wasn't easy, but the staff made the settling-in process so much easier for both my dad and our family during what was a very stressful time. We can't thank them enough for their compassion, support, and dedication. I would highly recommend this care home to anyone looking for exceptional care.

My brother moved into Bluebell Ward for respite care over Christmas 2025 and became a permanent resident in January 2026.
The staff are all amazing , very kind and caring and my brother is safe and very well cared for.
There are varied daily activities and Fun Friday in the hub is not to be missed.
All the staff are friendly and helpful from the most senior members of staff to the most junior and know all the residents by name.

Many staff have worked there for a long time and the continuity of care is excellent ,which is very important for the residents and their families.

We moved my dad into Hall Grange due to his dementia progression. I had visited a few homes in addition to this one, and I was keen for dad to come here. The environment is great, the gardens are fabulous. The staff are incredible; dad can be very difficult but they have all been brilliant with him.
They encourage making the room as homely and familiar as needed to make the residents feel more at home.

I would have no issue recommending Hall Grange to anyone who might be looking for a care home for a loved one.

Mum was very well looked after for the last 4 years and our family were welcomed into the Hall Grange family. The carers were kind, caring and treated Mum with respect and compassion. Mums face would light up when she saw one of her favourites. At times communication with external (e.g. doctors) was challenging, but supporting staff from admin, housekeeping, maintenance were all so friendly and helpful. The activities team are fantastic and flexible to residents abilities . There is a wonderful music therapist and reflexologist who visit weekly.

Mums room was light, cosy and always smelt nice. The lounge and dining areas spacious with easy access. There are beautiful gardens available to wonder around which we all enjoyed very much, especially in the spring and summer. Mum seemed to enjoy the food with puddings being her favourite. The weekly "Fun Fridays"were quite an experience with staff joining in singing and dancing. We appreciate all that was done to care for Mum.

My mum had been a resident in Bluebell for the last four years. During that time all staff, without exception, treated my mum with care, dignity and understanding. The staff in Bluebell became my mums second family and it meant that our worries about mums safety, hygiene, meals, activities and quality of life were all catered for. Mums room was light and airy, we put her own little bits of furniture, pictures and ornaments in her room to make it more homely and individual. The room was always cleaned to a high standard and smelt fresh. The communal living areas are spacious and again bright and light, exactly what the residents need. There are new staff members doing the activities at the home now, who are beyond fantastic, creating relevant daily activities from painting, making things, baking, spending time in the garden planting, bingo, singing and fun Friday celebrations. An absolute asset to the Hall Grange team, especially important to residents with dementia to keep them active.

Majority of staff are lovely ( especially Pauline).
Within the dining area - staff need to be able to confirm what the soup was. Asked for cheese sandwiches on brown, got cheese and egg on white.

Insufficient food portions and the type of food for a diabetic. Time lapse between the last meal and breakfast is too long. Asked for an early breakfast due to church service - didn't arrive until 10:30 AM. Evening access to be reviewed.

My Father has been at Hall Grange for 18 months now. We moved him to be closer to me.

He is very well looked after and all the staff are kind, friendly, respectful and patient with him. The food has improved since he arrived and his favourite of scampi is made especially for him.

The activities programme is brilliant and the girls work hard to think of new things to do. Bingo, crafting, music, karaoke, quizzes, cooking and themed celebrations. Dad particularly likes cheese and wine and Fun Friday. There are drink making facilities for visitors in The Hub .

His room has a wonderful view of The Wilderness. There is a large patio and seating area for warmer days. The purpose built building is spacious, airy and full of light. It gives me piece of mind that he is well cared for. Any maintenance issues are dealt with quickly. The staff are a good support for me too. Thank you.

My dad spent just under 3 years at Hall Grange, having moved in shortly after my mum died. We visited lots of care homes at the time and Hall Grange was by far the nicest and best option; it's clean, residents are encouraged to be as independent as possible, there are nice communal areas and gardens so they aren't confined to their rooms, staff are always on hand (not hiding away as I saw in many places). The senior staff were so friendly and compassionate at what was a difficult time for us both and made an agonising decision for me slightly easier. Dad was made to feel at home immediately and encouraged to participate in activities. I was allowed to visit at almost any time, take in food and join him for meals. As his mental and then physical health deteriorated over time, the staff stepped in to do more and more for him with kindness and a desire to maintain his dignity. I was always kept up-to-date on his condition. I couldn't have hoped for better.

My mother enjoyed living at Hall Grange and liked some of the entertainment and loved the staff. Our Mum experienced the very best care and was treated with the utmost dignity during her time at Hall Grange. Excellent home in ideal surroundings. The wilderness is lovely & a real asset! All the staff seem lovely & very attentive, even if sometimes they are a bit stretched!

Music therapy is lovely - for me as well as my wife. Other activities probably happen at times when I am not present. Obviously, in the dementia area, abilities are very limited.

Overall we were happy with the care given. Although the care home is primarily Residential/Dementia it would be good if staff were fully medically trained, which would give peace of mind to both residents and their families.

Activities are good, however entertainment was lacking over the weekends and Bank holidays. It would be good if staff could encourage residents (where possible) to join in the activities or even to remind them of events planned for the day.

Our dad was at Hall grange from December 24 to February 25. Until his passing. Dad's care was very good carers on the whole did everything to make dad feel comfortable. The staff were very approachable and endeavoured to put right any problems we encountered.. Hall Grange is extremely clean and well maintained. Dad passed away in Hall grange and we found the staff to be so respectful and caring to us all on the very sad day that he passed. I have no hesitation in strongly recommending this lovely home.

From the minute Mum went into Hall Grange our worries ended. Mum's smile returned and as time went on, it was clear to see why, all the staff, not just her immediate carers, made efforts to care for Mum and engage with her. They all 'knew' Mum's personality and enjoyed looking after her, and Mum fed off this positive approach. Her time at Hall Grange was happy, and her passing in such a loving environment was as good as we could have wished for.
