I visit my elder brother every week. The home in general and staff are very good. Matters of concern:

1)Who should ask the GP for flu injection - the home or the family (if they have family). Why do you not as GPs in October to give flu injections?

2) I asked a number of times about my brother's painful right shoulder (an old injury). I was told he was getting paracetamol. My nephew asked if I could ask the doctor to go and see my brother. He did and I am told ordered an x-ray. Should the home not notice this and act on it? What if there was no family?

Hall Grange is a purpose built care home with spacious rooms and excellent facilities. The gardens are well established and residents are able to use these beautiful grounds whenever weather permits. I have always found the staff at Hall Grange to be friendly and helpful towards me and my family and caring towards my mother. Activities are arranged for most mornings and afternoons. There is Christian worship four days a week for those who wish to take part. My mother is in the dementia wing at Hall Grange, and I feel she is getting the help and care she needs for her condition.

My aunt has been a resident at Hall Grange for 12 years. She has been very well cared for throughout the time of her residency. In her later years, her health has declined and she has needed more care which has always been provided by the friendly staff at the home.

The home is a very nice place to stay at. The rooms are very well decorated, spotlessly clean and very nicely furnished. The care staff are very friendly and helpful and will always update me when I call to see how my aunt is.

My husband died in Hall Grange in November 18 having been there since July 18. He had very good treatment throughout his time there and I could not have wished for anything better for him. All the carers were excellent and could not have been kinder to him or me, as they are still to his sister.

Excellent activity programme allowing residents to be involved and participating mornings and afternoons. Spiritual needs (taken great care of). Service on Sunday and prayers during the week. Residents are happy and the atmosphere exudes peace and calm ministering to social and spiritual care needs. Carers willing and friendly but also vigilant. This is excellent.

Our overall experience of the home was very positive.
My mother was cared for kindly and well and her rights and thoughts attended in a positive what.
Communication with the home for relatives could be improved with more obvious and easier ways of getting information and feedback for those living further away from their relative.
We have recommended the home to others. Positive, warm atmosphere with kind, caring staff, generally good staff levels.

A front reception desk (staffed) would improve the safety and welcome to the home.

From the moment we entered the home, we were bowled over. I visited twice a week over a fortnight and then moved my uncle in.
Every time, all the residents had smiles on their faces, looked stimulated and well cared for and were eager to come and introduce themselves and nothing was too much trouble.
The buildings are newly built and the standard of furnishings is high. Ensuite rooms, large windows, reclining chairs.
It is easy to make it feel homely.

Lovely gardens, sitting rooms and a good programme of activities. I believe my uncle will be extremely happy and he's settled in very quickly.

"This is your Mother's home...." was a repeated and a reassuring response to questions and suggestions about mum's care at Hall Grange. It exemplifies their code of conduct which puts the residents first.

Over the course of four years, my mother was fortunate to be cared for and nurtured by the kindest, professional staff. She was always treated with dignity and respect, even when a sprinkling of good humour was needed.

Over the years mother was a resident I witnessed the Staff's extraordinary care, patience, humour and grace in providing for her well-being.

I am grateful too that mother was able to experience the newly built wing with it's light filled rooms, new technology and beautiful garden.

I would like to thank all at Hall Grange for their care and attention they gave my great aunt for just under three years. You often hear people stay that staff are only doing their job, but I totally disagree and have witnessed differently, this is not just a job they do things for the residents with respect, a smile much patience and with love and professionalism. They treat the resident like family members as indeed Hall Grange is like a big caring family. MHA are indeed the most fortunate to have such brilliant staff.

From the initial warmth of the welcome to Hall Grange, through the daily support and care of my mum, to the devoted and loving consideration in her final weeks, the staff and management of the home could not have done more for her or the family. My mum loved her time at Hall Grange and appreciated having people around her who respected her dignity and helped her to live as she wished in a warm and secure community. If only all care homes were like this one.
