Even though my lovely dad only spent a short time at the home, he made a big impression on the staff. All the staff, without exception, were 100% committed to making my dad's stay as comfortable as possible. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They also comforted family members when the strain got
too much to bear. When Dad finally died, the compassion shown by all the staff was welcome. Two members of staff attended Dad's funeral. I cannot recommend Manor enough for everything they do. Thank you.

It's a little tricky for me to write a comprehensive review as I don't visit Manor Rest Home very often and my brother isn't particularly communicative so it's difficult to say unless I was there for a significant time period. What I would say is that since the relatively recent management change,
the communication has improved by the use of WhatsApp and text message and I welcome that. Also the activities which have been introduced are varied, relevant and accessible to all. I don't know if they were already in place but if they were, they weren't publicised as well as currently. I've always found the staff very pleasant when I've visited. The building itself is dated in places but I can already see improvements are beginning to be made in that respect.

Manor Rest Home has been quite transformed under the new management. Residents are entertained and involved in many activities. My dad is a reluctant participant but he seems to be enjoying himself and I have noticed a more positive demeanour in him and his fellow residents. I do not visit very
often as I live in Somerset, but I have felt the difference on my last couple of visits. Excellent work manager and team, it means a lot!

We have a friend who has been part of our family for over 40 years ..He is very happy at this care home.since being there he has had a new lease of life and taken away any loneliness he felt after a bereavement. He is kept busy doing activities such as a bingo caller which he loves ..the staff are
all very kind and caring . He loves the staff and has no complaints. He entertains and is being entertained.
We quite often get a lovely cup of coffee when visiting and the staff are all very welcoming when we arrive

My mum has been a resident of Manor Rest Home since October 2021. We have found the staff to be very pleasant and accommodating always someone to talk to if you have any concerns, the Horne itself could do with updating which we understand is going to be done now under new ownership. Mum seems very
happy here and when asked she says she likes it.
They have a hairdresser that goes in once a week for those wanting there hair done and a chiropodist that also goes on a regular basis, which is good for mum as she has diabetes and her feet need to be looked after.
Last year they had a Christmas party for the first time, which was lovely all members of family were invited along, and we were recently invited to a coffee morning but I was unable to attend.

My mum has been in this care home for 3 and a half years now
She seems very happy here and well settled
They now have activities that they can join in and are encouraged to although my mum chooses not to most of the time.
I'm happy that my mum is well looked after and she is happy when we visit
her
The actual rooms could do with updating but I know this is going to be done when possible.
The room is always clean and tidy
The staff are very friendly and if you have a problem with anything there is always someone to talk to and try and put things right .
The one comment I would say who ever gets her dressed could take a bit more care in choosing what she wears ( thinking of the weather)
The new manager is on hand most of the time and she is always willing to help and talk with you .
Overall I'm really happy with care and like the home.
