View Full Details of Lyle House Care HomeThe care home has been very helpful, clean and welcoming.
Lyle House is a wonderful, extremely well managed environment. The manager and another member of staff create a great place to work and a lovely place for the residents to live. My siblings and I rest easy knowing that our Mother is well extremely cared for. The home has a lovely family feel, and that very much comes across in the way staff and residents interact. The surroundings are welcoming, the food is terrific and the staff, without exception, are extremely dedicated caring individuals. Regular activities and excursions are available. Last week a member of staff took Mum to Barnes Common, which she thoroughly enjoyed. At the end of the day later life catches up with all of us, and, when my time comes, if I am lucky enough to get a place at Lyle House, I'll be a very happy chap. In summary, an exceptional place to live. A warm friendly family environment, backed up exceptionally friendly staff, plenty of good food and stimulating activities. Five stars all the way. Thankyou for taking such good care of Mum.
Everyone at Lyle House has been so welcoming and helpful during my mother's move into Lyle House. I'm delighted that she has started eating and drinking again now that she's moved in. And I'm most impressed by the constant care given to all residents during the day.
I stayed for a week in respite care. My overall impression was excellent. I didn't take part in the activities because of my condition, although invited to do so, so couldn't comment here. I have a special diet and so provided much of my own food which staff were very good in assisting me with, hence satisfactory. If in for longer I'm sure the kitchen would be able to provide food more suitable for my diet.
I would like to say a huge thank you to the team at Lyle House Care Home for the support and opportunity to leave London and meet other members of my family in Russia. I was reassured that my mum would be happy, content and well thanks to the hard work and dedication of the staff. Lots of thanks to everybody!
Staff are very happy when we walk in and it continues until I leave. It's clean and tidy when visiting and my wife seems to be happy.
I am very happy with the treatment my mother is receiving at Lyle House. The staff are all very kind and helpful.
Lyle House is run by a lovely group of people who are dedicated and on hand during the day and evening. A very clean environment with freshly cooked food every day, there is plenty to eat. Also, there is a café and a little pub as well with outside seating areas in the garden and lots of space for all of the residents. A fantastic environment for the residents.
Mum has been at Lyle House since January and the lift has been out of action twice leaving her and others stranded on the third floor, one lift for seventy residents and staff is inadequate. Poor communication with staff. Lengthy waits for medical issues to be addressed. Total lack of engagement from staff with residents (often seen on their phones - not leading activities). Manager and her deputy have been quick to respond to complaints but impossible for them to oversee true picture daily. I have found dirty clothes put back in Mum's wardrobe.
Great expereince. Staff extremely friendly and compassionate to my brother. Thank you!
Mum moved in Feb and I am very happy the way she has settled in. Staff are very nice never seen her so happy was not sure how she would accept the change after 20 years alone at home.
The home is very clean and the staff are friendly and helpful, keeping me informed about what my dad is up to. He is very settled in the environment, he joins in activities and goes on small outings as well.
Lyle House tries to maintain an adequate level of staff, but like all institutions experience shortages at times due to personnel leaving to cut travel times, or earn a little more. This has resulted in difficulties with home managers. The lack of a regular receptionist means others have to cover. This must lead to staff stress. So sometimes I do have difficulty understanding what some staff are saying due to their speech patterns, and my partial deafness.
Lyle House Care Home have made the move for my mother who has dementia into residential care a good experience. They have helped her settle in very well. The staff are respectful and caring. The home is clean and they provide good quality food with choices each day.
Overall, I have observed that my mother is receiving adequate care and attention at the care home, for which I am grateful. However, I do have a significant concern regarding her dietary needs, as she follows a pescatarian diet and does not consume meat. It would be beneficial for the staff to be more attentive to this aspect of her dietary requirements. On a positive note, I have noticed that some of the staff members engage in friendly conversations and share moments of laughter with my mother, which is heartwarming to witness.
The home is well-appointed and well-maintained. It’s clean and the staff keep residents clean and comfortable. It does not feel crowded and there are some interesting concept rooms like the cafe, the pub and the cinema room. The garden is ok, well designed at least for keeping residents cool in hot weather. Most of the reception staff are very capable and friendly. There seems to be quite a turnover of management which is a little unsettling, 3 managers in 3 years I think. Some of the care staff are truly excellent, some better than adequate and one or two seem a little lacking in empathy and basic practical skills. Activities are bought in, like singers and these are usually of a reasonable standard and quite entertaining, and the activity coordinators try hard to maintain a weekly programme, but I wonder about the lack of more intimate therapeutic engagement that might actually challenge and slow the inevitable descent into dementia. My mum and I have become quite fond of the team.
My husband was treated friendly with courtesy and dignity, there were no restrictions on visiting for myself and friends which I think is important. He was made very comfortable, and well looked after
Good care home with happy residents. Friendly, polite and helpful carers that keep me informed of resident. Great facilities such as cinema room, bar and cafe. Female receptionist is friendly as well.
The management and staff are professional and approachable. I have found them to be responsive and supportive to any issues that my sister may have. Overall, the care home seems to be run efficiently and the facilities are clean and well maintained. I am particularly impressed with the staff and I hope that the care home is able to retain and attract quality staff (at all levels) and reward them appropriately for their hard work. I believe that competent and motivated staff and good facilities will be key to the ongoing success of the care home. I wish you well in the vital service that you provide.
My mum is cared for and safe, so overall I think Lyle House Care Home is a good home, with decent facilities. Ideally, I would like to see more activities for the residents, but it’s a small team so I know they do what they can.
