View Full Details of The Elms Residential Care HomeI have been visiting my friend at the Elms monthly for approximately 6 years and throughout this time have been extremely impressed with the caring, fun and friendly staff. My friend is especially positive about the delicious food which is served and feels safe and well cared for.
I have visited my friend who lives at The Elms every week for the last two years. In that time he has received excellent care provided by a consistent staff team. The residents are cared for by familiar friendly faces, who take the time to understand their preferences. The staff take my friend's wellbeing seriously. My friend is very happy with the care he receives. And there is no pressure to join any faith-based activities. It smells fine too.
Staff greet & welcome with a smile, they can/did direct me to find my mother. I was told how she's doing and was informed of a couple of adjustments needed to ensure the space in her room does not create trip hazards. Staff are understanding that its taking time for her to settle in (has been resident for 5 months now).
When I visit The Elms I am struck by how many staff are around and how well they interact with the residents. They are patient, kind and accommodating taking account of each individual's needs rather than following a regimented routine. I also really appreciate staff's friendliness to visitors.
We make regular visits to The Elms with a group of students to spend time with residents in their communal space; chatting, delivering a quiz, music etc. The staff at The Elms are always welcoming and helpful. The residents, we visit, are engaged and often tell us how well they are cared for at The Elms.
Excellent care for my mother who suffers from dementia and is bed-ridden. The care staff are very committed and caring. They go beyond to care for her and are always helpful and supportive.
I have visiting The Elms for some years to lead the Wednesday afternoon Christian service. The transition to becoming part of Mission Care has been interesting to observe. I would commend all involved, both staff and residents for navigating that challenging process of integrating on influx of new residents successfully. From a weekly observation, The Elms is a settled community with a much wider programme of activities than before. Even though our Wednesday service suffers from such competition, it is great to see such activities! Several of the staff go out of their way to plan specific events, knowing the capabilities of the residents. The staff are also welcoming to me and my dogs!
I have always found all members of the team at The Elms Residential Care Home to be caring, friendly and supportive. The Elms always feels a cheerful place to visit and there is always a good programme of events and activities for residents.
The Elms are tireless with the standard of care that is given, all the staff are exceptional, motivated, kind and a joy to be around, the home feels so homely and a super place to be, everyone is brought together and nothing is too difficult. I am allowed to pop in as and when I can, they could not be more perfect.
All the staff we have met have been kind and helpful, it is so reassuring to know that my brother is being cared for in an environment where he feels comfortable and at home and that he is in good hands we have had no negative experiences at The Elms.
Exceptional care home! Staff are compassionate, facilities are impeccable, and residents are treated like family. Highly recommend this place! I can't express enough gratitude for the exceptional care they provide. From the moment we walked in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere put us at ease. The staff's dedication is truly commendable; they treat residents with dignity, respect, and genuine compassion.
Lovely staff, most caring and lovely people. The hospitality was amazing. The food quality is good and it tastes nice. Nice and clean environment with it being made homely. The staff are always greeting at the door with smiles.
My mother is well cared for and seems content, she is given a mixture of homecooked and processed prepared food. The staff seem to be caring and in good humour.
The Elms underwent a transition in 2023 when it was taken over by Mission Care. Prior to that one manager had to go and a new one left very suddenly. Also a new care group entered from another care home. Things seem to have settled and residents seem settled and well cared for. I am a former trustee and local priest and now visit a church member with advanced dementia. He is on end-of-life care and is cared for excellently.
The staff at the Elms are extremely caring and kind. They know my mother well and go to great lengths to support her effectively. Her room is comfortable, the food is excellent and she enjoys all the activities offered. Visitors are always welcomed and as a family we have great peace of mind knowing that our mother is so settled.
