View Full Details of The SwallowsMy mother has been in Swallows Care Home for 14 months. Her care has been excellent, I can visit at any time within time wise reasoning. She is the happiest I have seen her in the last 8 years. The management and the carers are helpful and informative. My mother has alzheimers and dementia she is so more relaxed and calm in the environment that she is in now than being at home on her own its a relief to her and me. Also I do not have to make appointments to visit I literally ring the bell and go in to see her which makes me feel confident that nothing is false in the home.
My mum has been a resident of The Swallows for four years. Mum has always been looked after by caring and compassionate staff. As my mum's needs have changed the staff have transitioned us well during this difficult process. Three full meals are provided each day and there are no shortage of snacks if required. Activities are planned daily and there are always celebrations which family members can also attend.
Going through such a tough process, the staff at The Swallows have been so kind and welcoming to my mum and me. Company and people of acceptance are crucial to make my mum not feel judged but comfortable. Mum suffers with PTSD and depression so this is a good distraction.
Very polite, great service, would recommend
I find the staff very helpful and understanding especially during the reconstruction work taking place over the last months I know nothing about the costs plus I have not been to my partners room since alterations started so I have not been able complete these two questions. The staff are extremely patient with the residents who are sometimes very difficult to deal with.
My wife entered The Swallows after being asked to leave a previous so-called care home after 6 months as being diagnosed with E.M.I since. I was desperate to find her a new home. I was lucky enough to be recommended to The Swallows. She has been at the home since August 2024 and seems much happier and I am more than pleased with the care she is receiving. She had 2 bad falls in the previous home but I am pleased to say she seems much safer at The Swallows which is a great deal off of my mind.
It is a pleasure to witness how caring the staff are towards clients. It seems nothing is too much trouble.
Quality care home. Kind and considerate. Couldn't ask for a better place for my mum. The carers are amazing. Very hardworking owner too.
My mother moved into The Swallows at the end of 2023. I have been delighted with the care she has received. The transition from sheltered housing was very tricky but the incredible staff were so supportive and reassuring and Mum has now settled well. The Swallows feels more like a home than an institution.
I am happy with the communication with the care home all staff that have assisted me when I visited were very caring polite and helpful. Phone calls are answered politely and any request I made was completed. The resident I visit is always dressed well, clean and happy and to see her happy makes me feel happy and contented.
All of the staff work exceptionally hard to provide a happy and safe environment for the residents. My dad was a resident for over 2 years and he was treated with dignity and respect. The staff encouraged Dad to do things, taking into account his feelings on any particular day. Visitors are made to feel very welcome. The staff are amazing, so kind, polite and patient.
I visit The Swallows to see my friend. The staff are very knowledgeable, caring and understanding of my friend's needs and habits. They encourage her to be herself and to interact with the other residents. The home is very well run and have been extremely accommodating when I’ve rang to ask a question about visiting.
The care home my aunt is in, I cannot fault it. She is looked after very well and all the staff are very polite. You are always welcomed with a smile, they are such lovely people. We are given private rooms for our visits, we are always offered refreshments and staff are always around to help if needed, you don’t have to go far out of the room to find a member of staff and I’ve spoken to other residents in there and all the ones I’ve spoken to seem very happy.
I guess as with most people having a relative move to a home is going to be traumatic for all involved, even if it is in the best interests of that person. I feel very lucky to have come across The Swallows and from the moment of the first contact call to them I felt at ease, the lady on the phone was very friendly and very understanding of my uncle's situation and it seemed like an ideal home for him to go to. Although he has only been there a short time he has quickly settled down to the routines and upon visiting him for the first time, it's clear he seems settled in himself and admits to 'not having to lift a finger to do anything' which he clearly likes! The care staff made us feel so very welcome and could not do enough for us and this was very reassuring. They have taken a keen interest in his likes and dislikes and his hobbies. I only have positive comments about The Swallows and all the staff and thank them for being such caring people.
I use The Swallows for respite care for my mother. The staff are very knowledgeable, caring and understanding of my mum’s needs and habits. They encourage her to be herself and to interact with the other residents. The home is very well run and have been extremely accommodating when I’ve rang to ask for care at short notice. They’ve been an invaluable resource for care for me for the occasions that I’ve needed additional care. I can relax when she’s in their care. A very reasonable price for quality care and I thoroughly recommend them.
I am so pleased with The Swallows. I am always welcomed by the staff who are very friendly and happy to talk to me about my mother-in-law. Since she has been at The Swallows, she has been looked after so well and she looks so much better than when she went in. I can honestly say I have nothing negative to say about The Swallows.
Mum is, of course, mostly in her own world but it is gratifying that she is not distressed. She is calm, her mood is good and she seems to understand that she is being helped. I find the staff caring, helpful and always in good spirits, despite the many challenges they face daily, especially in the last two years. Mum has really good relationships with the staff and other residents and likes participating in activities.
My mother, a very independent lady, spent the last year of her life at the Swallows. When she was at her most vulnerable, the care, comfort and love she received from all of the staff at the Swallows was exceptional. I, and my family, are deeply grateful to the wonderful staff and remain in admiration of the way they have coped, and continue to cope, with the pandemic issues in a professional and safe way. Special thanks again to all the staff. Your work is so important to us all.
My uncle arrived at The Swallows a few weeks ago. I have to say that the staff have been amazing. They are very welcoming and kind. My daughter and I felt the warmth of the place as soon as we entered. The staff work so hard but always offer us a cup of tea and a biscuit and will do anything they can to make my uncle feel comfortable.
