View Full Details of WatersideStaff were very supportive and respite care was excellent. Rooms had a lovely view, garden was nice. Food was apparently (according to resident) a bit more basic than he would like. My dad made rapid progress during his respite stay and was able to go home in much better shape. Nurses did a great job.
Very friendly atmosphere and professional. Staff very helpful, unit runs smoothly.
I have visited the unit on 3 occasions and witnessed a friendly environment. My father-in-law has been in the unit for only a few months. He appears to be enjoying the time at Waterside and appears in their social media posts, undertaking various activities with vigour. I engage with other residents as they are keen to say 'Hello@. P.S. I cannot comment on the 'Value for Money' option. I have no idea of the costs.
I visited my Aunt during a short visit to London. I had previously visited her in April. The difference in my Aunt was wonderful to see. She was happy, content and well cared for. It was so evident in her appearance, how well she was in herself. I was met with a smiling and very happy person. It was a completely different person to the visit in April. In April she was well cared for but she wasn't happy or settled in herself. I do ring and speak with the staff on a weekly basis. They have been amazing with their support and advice. As I live in Ireland. This has been a great help to myself and my family. In April, I visited her room, it was spacious, immaculately clean and had all her home comforts such as photos and some of her personal items. It is very much a home from home. We are just so grateful for the help and support my Aunt receives every day and this is down to the care home and the staff. I can't praise them enough. We are so lucky to have this service for my Aunt.
The welcome in this care home was extremely friendly and welcoming. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The place was very clean and smells fresh. The person I visit enjoys the place and says the staff are very nice to her.
For the whole time my father was in the care home the lift only worked 3 times. Very poor when he was staying for a length of time, every time I called to see how he was the just kept ringing and never answered, when it was I left a message for someone to call me back and I didn't get a response. There wasn't a TV in the room so my father was in bed looking at the wall, there were not sides up on the bed to stop him from falling out just a soft mat which meant he could get out of bed with the worry of him falling. Certain members of staff were good and helpful but some not so good. I was disappointed y the whole experience and felt my father became isolated and depressed. Also lift only worked 3 times the whole time I visited - always out of order.
I cannot speak highly enough of the fantastic care and supports provided by the Waterside, from the very first time our family entrusted them with my husband care,we have been consistently impressed by the professionalism, compassion and dedication of every services rendered and interactions feels personal, remarkable, thoughtful and it's clear that they take time to understand each resident's, individual needs and preferences. We are happy with the environment and the facilities he is currently in. The medical support, personal hygiene, emotional wellbeing and social activities are all handled with outstanding and excellent attention to the details.
I think Waterside is good for looking after my aunt. In December 2024, I didn't think she would survive to Christmas. The staff encouraged her and looked after her, getting her treatment as needed, and she gradually perked up and was soon more like her old self. I was very happy with the result.
My mum was a resident for about 4 months, transitioning from hospital. Staff were welcoming. Staff were approachable and provided support and insights to caring for my mum. Mum's personal hygiene was good. The head nurse engaged with us on my mum's care so that we understood what to expect. I trusted that they would care for my mum when I was not there which meant that I could sleep easy when I left at night.
Our family is very grateful for the care and compassion shown to my Grandma during her stay at Waterside Care Home in Peckham. She was transferred there from hospital for respite care, and the staff treated both her and our whole family with kindness and respect. Although my Grandma's condition declined over time, the team never gave up on her and provided excellent care until she was moved to a home closer to us. A special thank you to the nurse on her floor, who looked after my Grandma with genuine care every day. She supported me emotionally during a very difficult time and showed incredible kindness-I'll never forget the moment I saw her gently plating my Grandma's hair. It meant so much to our family. Thank you to everyone at Waterside for helping us through such a challenging period. Your compassion made a real difference and I will never forget what you all did for our family.
This seems to be a very good home. The residents seemed to be well treated, with patient staff who understood their needs. The home was clean, with good facilities.
Because they are very helpful and very kind. The room is very nice and the staff are very kind and I made a lot of friends here too.
Since Dad has been in the Avon Unit, his improvement has been outstanding! He is happy, healthy, put on weight, his mobility has improved - we couldn't be happier. All the staff have been fantastic, kind and caring. They all have taken the time to get to know Dad, it is lovely to see.
My aunt is very happy at the home, the staff are very nice and helpful. She really enjoys the activities organised by the home, and her mood has been elevated by being around the other residents. As a relative the staff have been very helpful and have been keeping us up to date with her progress and her well being.
Waterside is a quiet and friendly residential home. Activities are varied and residents have regular home meetings.
I am happy with everything.
My mother was desperately unhappy here. She is a wheelchair user and was effectively imprisoned on the second floor with no working lift throughout her two week stay. The bedding she was given smelt of urine and I had to complain to get it changed. My mother is a vegetarian and her dietary needs were not properly catered for - she was often given just potatoes and vegetables for her meal.
The place was bright, clean and warm. The staff cheerful and helpful, respecting the occupants they were looking after.
I am pleased with the way my mother looks. Her well-being and mental health have improved significantly. Staff are approachable and are happy to solve any queries I and my family may have. Staff update my family, when we come to visit, if my mum's welfare and call my family if they need anything. Mum is not very complimentary in nature but always asks me to thank the staff for their hard work.
I could not wish for better care for my much loved brother. The staff are kind, considerate and treat him with a great deal of respect. I would recommend this home to anyone.
