View Full Details of Burrows HouseMy mother has been resident in Burrows House for about three years now. I do not live locally but I am able to visit every couple of months. My sister does live nearby and visits the home at least once per week. In all our dealings with the staff a Burrows house we have seen nothing but a considerate and caring attitude. At the time we chose Burrows house for my mother we considered other bigger, glossier and probably better equipped homes. We were completely swayed by the warmth and kindness of the staff. My mother is very frail in body and mind . She has very little capability for enjoyment and she needs care and kindness above all else. Every member of staff I have dealt with at Burrows House provides this care willingly and sincerely. I have great respect for them all.
My dad has been at Burrows House for 6 months and is thriving. He is so well cared for by the wonderful staff and has settled in well. The staff are lovely and go above and beyond. So glad we chose Burrows House!
Mum had dementia and was only in the home for 15 months before she passed away but in those months she was happy, very well cared for and as a family we all had peace of mind that she was in a safe place. The staff are wonderful, every single one of them, and so friendly. They make you feel you are part of a big family. I'd like to thank them on behalf of myself and my family, we would have been lost without you
My experience to date is one of complete satisfaction with all aspects of the 'Burrows House' operation, it is so reassuring for me to know that my wife is receiving the best possible care that she she so rightly deserves. The staff are absolutely fantastic and go above and beyond, and have become good friends,to conclude l would state that without any hesitation l would highly recommend this as of 'Gold' standard without any reservation. Heartfelt thanks to you all.
My mother was admitted to Burrows after she broke her hip for a 6 week period of winter resilience. When she completed this period she was assessed to decide whether to go home or to remain. She chose to stay at Burrows and for the next 6 years was supported to live her best life despite living with dementia and increasing fragility. Thanks to everyone at Burrows for helping Mum in her final years.
Burrows House is so caring and friendly. They made my father-in-law feel so welcome and ensured he felt at home right away. Thank you so much for looking after him.
All staff very professional and welcoming. My brother is very happy, which is important. Premises extremely clean. Residents are all happy and content. Staff always making an effort with the residents. Nothing is too much trouble, very helpful.
Staff went above and beyond (as they always do) but this particular day, was my mum's 90th b.day and they gave us use of the common room and decorated it and staff made sure my mums hair had been cut and coloured. She looked lovely. She's very happy there, she's safe, she's clean and looked after very well. All staff go above and beyond there to care for the residents including my mother. And that is from management, down to carers and kitchen staff.
As a family we are very happy that our dad is at Burrows House. He is very settled and happy, everyone is so caring, kind and thoughtful. I never have to worry about him being looked after.
The home provides everything for my mother in a caring and happy environment. When I visit I am always impressed by the cleanliness of the home and the way the staff look after the residents. I do not think that I would find any better care for my mother anywhere else.
My friend is well looked after by staff. His room is well serviced. One carer is particularly helpful and caring. My friend nearly always seems contented and well cared for.
My mother has been in the care of Burrows House staff since Aug '23, she is 93 and has mobility and mild dementia. Her care both physically and mentally has been excellent. Staff see that she is 'engaged' with everyday life and management have introduced new initiatives to stimulate those in their care (memory boxes - accessible jigsaw puzzles). Relatives at encouraged to visit any time and for 'special events', together with relative review meetings.
I would like to thank the Burrows House team for making Nans 100th birthday celebrations a personal experience for her. Everyone was genuinely pleased that she had reached such a great milestone in her life and wanted to celebrate with her. Special thanks to one member of staff in particular for doing her hair, nails, arranging the birthday cake, putting up the banners and balloons and making sure she looked sparkly for the party but all the team made such an effort to congratulate Nan on the day. Another big thank you to another member of staff for the kindness she has shown Nan since her admission and making our time when we visit personal to us.
Our dad has only been with you for a short time, yet he has settled in and seems very happy. He tells us he loves the staff and has already made friends with other residents. I am so happy we chose Burrows House. The whole atmosphere when you walk in is stimulating, friendly and fun.
My mother had her first day there, she fitted in very well. The staff were welcoming and there were children visiting the residents which was a great idea. The Christmas decorations added a nice attraction.
I'm really happy here, the staff are friendly, one member of staff, especially, is always cheerful. When my family come to see me on a Thursday, they feel welcomed by everyone. The food is marvellous! I enjoy the parties and sitting with my friend and colouring.
Always a warm feeling at Burrows House and the staff are really lovely and have a great relationship with the residents and are very welcoming to family members who come to visit. I feel happy my mum is being cared for in such capable hands.
Mum has been in the home for ten months now, settled in very well and seems to really enjoy the company of the other residents and the carers. Her bedroom is personalised and the whole home is very clean. Every member of staff here is very friendly and greets you by your first name, always asking after my dad who found it really hard when she moved in. All residents are given a cake and flowers on their birthday and they celebrate the day with other residents on their unit. They have numerous parties with a singer or music with the residents getting up dancing. Afterwards, they will have refreshments usually based on the theme of the party. They have visits from a local nursery, church and a panto group and do movement to music and gentle activities in their individual lounges. Yesterday they were all out in the garden having ice cream with music. As a family, we are very happy that we chose to send Mum to Burrows House. She is happy and that gives us peace of mind.
My dad went to Burrows House after being discharged from hospital after a major stroke for a Discharge Assessment. All the staff were very kind and my dad had excellent care during his 4 week stay. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming whenever we visited. His main carer not only helped Dad but she always took the time to update us on his progress and was supportive of us during this difficult time.
I have no need to write a review, as I cannot find one fault. Keep up the excellent work.
