View Full Details of Five OaksSince the new manager, Rahima, started at Five Oaks, we've noticed a remarkable difference. The staff now work together as a team, and the whole environment feels more positive, lively, and welcoming. Rahima has truly transformed the atmosphere. She is a very visible and hands-on manager - always happy to help relatives and ready to listen. What stands out most is that she's not just there for the residents, but also for their families and friends. My family and I found it really difficult adjusting to the idea of our mum living in a care home, but Rahima has made that transition so much easier. Whenever we call, we get a clear update on how our mum is doing, and we often receive pictures and videos that give us peace of mind. Her communication is excellent, and it's clear she genuinely cares. Rahima is everything you'd hope for in a manager - approachable, compassionate, and always available to support both residents and their loved ones. She's truly made a world of difference.
Putting Dad into temporary care was the hardest decision we've ever had to make, but Five Oaks has been a blessing. From the moment we visited, the staff were so warm and welcoming, and we knew Dad would feel comfortable here. The grounds are lovely and the atmosphere is always friendly, but it's the staff that make this place so special. They truly care, treating each resident as an individual and bringing out their personalities. After months in hospital, Dad had lost weight and was low in spirits, but since being here he's regained weight, become more chatty, and we've seen him laugh again - it feels like we have our old dad back. The management team - three of them - have been incredible, always supportive and approachable, and we feel total trust in them. We can't thank everyone enough for giving Dad dignity, joy, and comfort, and for giving us peace of mind.
My father needed to enter respite care during July 2025 and attended Five Oaks for one week. After elaving my parents decided that he should attend full time. Unfortunately this did not work out (he was mentally affected by being parted from my mother). I cannot fault the level of care he received, the kindness of the staff, the quality of the site and building and the efficiency of the administration. If we are unable to make alternative arrnagements we woudl certainly use Five Oaks again. My only slight criticism was that the food was very bland for someone used to fairly spicy food. Quite importantly the cost was very reaosnable too.
The team at Five Oaks are caring and compassionate. They cared for my father for over 18 months in his final stages of vascular dementia with limited mobility. The choice to place a loved one in care is extremely challenging but Five Oaks provides a social environment with experienced, genuine staff and a superb management team. Beautiful gardens, nice bedrooms, good communication are particular highlights. I cannot express my thanks to both the core day & night team for how they supported both me and my lovely Dad at the end of his life.
From the moment we walked into Five Oaks I knew it was the perfect place for my mum. The staff were very welcoming and polite as well as diligent and committed to caring for the residents. My mum loves it here she has made many friends and feels very at home. Its honestly the happiest she has been in years! I hope they are able to continue meeting her needs as I cannot envisage her being anywhere else. The best thing about Five Oaks is the way they consistently strive to improve the residents quality of life, day in and day out. Five Stars *****
The staff are very supportive, caring and jovial. There is always someone to help answer any questions or help with practical things too. I know that my Dad is in good hands when I can't be there. There are often activities and outings for him to enjoy, and we love coming to the family events too; they put on a good spread!
My mother has been at Five Oaks for over 2 years having been diagnosed with the cruel Alzheimer's Disease. While there have been some issues I am pleased to say my concerns have not fallen on death ears. The new Care Manager and her care team are by far the best which can only be good for Mum. Whatever I have raised they have dealt with in a professional and sympathetic way. I am regularly kept updated with footage of Mum participating in activities which the care home excels. Five Oaks is a splendid home beautiful gardens with some exceptional carers all closely monitored by the Manager who is friendly and approachable. A special mention to her carer who works so hard in a very difficult job. The place is usually spotless and although mum will constantly be on my mind regards to her well being I can relax a bit more knowing she is in the best place and If there concerns I will be notified. Please don't let your standards drop!
My mother joined Five Oaks as she had broken her hip followed by a long post-operative spell in hospital with successive serious chest infections. When discharged she was still very unwell with a high level of need. The staff did everything they could to ease the transition, both for Mum, and for us as a family at a very anxious time. The excellent care she has received has enabled her to thrive and her personality is now once again in evidence. Mum thinks that she gets special attention but on our frequent visits to Five Oaks we can see that everyone gets that special attention. In our experience all members of staff, whatever their roles, show the same respect and warmth to residents and their visitors. The home is scrupulously clean. Mum has had some medical issues and these have always been dealt with swiftly and followed through. Any concerns we may have have been addressed once raised with the senior staff. We are reassured by the care my mother is being given.
After looking at several care homes for my mother, it was obvious from the moment we walked in to look around that Five Oaks was the most suitable. My mum moved in November 2024 and is happier and much safer than she was in her flat. Her room was newly decorated and has a wet room and door into the beautiful garden - it's perfect for her. She has been able to put up pictures, photos and personal items to make it more homely. The manageress is always available to talk and is very helpful. All the staff are lovely, from the laundry lady, people who dispense the medicine, cleaners and carers. Mum particularly likes the food, the very well cared for garden and visits from Monty the pet therapy dog. The atmosphere is always happy and the lounge always has something fun happening and all areas are spotlessly clean. I thoroughly recommend Five Oaks.
Lovely caring staff to the residents. They are friendly and do their best. Communication is good if there is any issue.
The level of care my Mum receives is excellent. She especially likes the daily activities and very varied entertainment that Five Oaks arrange. The manager is professional, helpful and very friendly, showing great empathy and care for all the residents. This approach is mirrored through all her care team. My Mum has been in Five Oaks for over 5yrs and has become an increasingly awkward character, due to her Dementia but the staff never fail to help her and are extremely kind to her - no matter what she calls them! Without her continued care at Five Oaks, my Mum would not have survived through the Covid era, and in fact would not be with us today. The current GP is extremely attentive, has developed a personal understanding of my Mum's health issues and is always happy to explain and discuss these with us in a very engaging manner. Mum will be 99 this year and we are very fortunate that we found Five Oaks to look after her.
Mum was always going to be a tricky customer maintaining for as long as I can remember, that she would never go into a care home - she developed Alzheimer's so we finally had to bite the bullet. It's not been easy for my sisters and I to place her at Five Oaks. Earlier in her residency, proving unsettled and difficult to handle, we looked elsewhere but nowhere we visited felt as warm. The manager, has always responded to us in a timely fashion, she has personally dealt with our questions and worries in the most professional manner and with genuine empathy. She is attentive to the needs of the residents, respectful and compassionate, and demonstrates to staff how she believes they should all be carrying out their duties of care. We know we haven't been easy but she influences the staff, many of whom I feel mum is genuinely fond of, even though she still does not want to be in a home. We have genuinely been supported by the manager, and the carer and many other caring members of staff.
Mums been in Five Oaks for 7 months. Since going in iv noticed a massive improvement in mums mood. Shes now much happier and seems very content in being in the home. Shes very well looked after by all the staff and Always with fresh clean clothes every time i visit. Mum seems to participate in some of the activities, something she would never of done before. We as a family are so happy that mums in such good hands. Well done guys.
My Mum has been in Five Oaks for nearly 3 months now and has really settled in nicely. The manager is always available to say hello and acknowledges any questions. The staff are also amazing giving 100% to all the residents. Everyday there is entertainment to keep the residents active. The garden area is beautiful especially now summer is coming. I highly recommend Five Oaks to anyone who is looking for somewhere for their loved ones.
Under the current management mum has become more settled and content. The variety of activities and functions provided not only engage the residents but also create a sense of the community by bringing family and friends. The carers are attentive ensuring that the needs of each resident are met with kindness and professionalism. the rooms are specious, clean and offer flexibility to make them feel truly like home. We were even able to bring in personal touches like pictures, keepsakes and a small sofa for mum. We are so grateful for the warm and supportive environment at Five Oaks which has made such a difference in mums wellbeing.
My father was in Five Oaks Care Home for six years. During his stay, he received excellent care from the staff and nurses. They looked after all his personal needs as he was wheelchair bound. They were kind, considerate and patient, treating him with the utmost respect.
My dad was admitted to Five Oaks in November 2025. Overall his care has been good. The leadership team (led by an hard-working, enthusiastic manager) is very good and listen to your concerns with care and follow up. The catering has improved in the time he has been there. The activities are led by great enthusiasm by the activity coordinator and they engage outside talent with songs, music and physical exercises. The quiet lounge is available for those who just want to nap! Each individual is special and cared for with their individual need with great patience. Room for improvement: More engagement from family and friends of the residents. The care staff at meal times are busy but would love to have more staff and family members sit and chat at meal times with the residents to encourage them to eat. Agency staff should be kept to minimum. The staff do chat to and encourage residents at the lounge but more of this would be good and of course their family and friends.
The manager and her team are absolutely amazing, they go far and beyond what is expected. They are so caring and have genuine love for all the residents. The manager always has a smile on her face and always puts the care of residents first. The manager has made, what could be a stressful time, so much easier. Another staff member is also brilliant too. Thank you Five Oaks.
Very good for a post operation stay. The staff are exceptionally friendly, pleasant and charming. As requested by me all meals were served in my room. Vegan food was available to me. The room was ensuite with shower, warm and comfortable.
We were visiting my mother/mother-in-law with some extra family members who had travelled from abroad. It was short notice. The care team made a fuss of us all. Our family were so impressed by the care and attention given by the care team. The care team are extremely busy, but they stop to give family members time. It doesn't go unnoticed. Thank you.
