View Full Details of The MeadowMy dad was recently at The Meadow for a month of respite care and was looked after very well while there. The staff were all extremely kind, patient and compassionate, both to him and to our family, and this helped make a difficult situation feel more bearable than it might otherwise have been. They worked hard to get him involved in activities and to feel a part of the community and we also appreciated how easy it was to get in touch with them about admin or care related issues. The lovely grounds were a great asset, especially when visiting with a young child.
A relative recently moved into The Meadow - the transition was very well supported from another care home, and he has settled in well. The communication is excellent and we feel very well informed about his health and well-being. There are regular reviews and involvement from a specialist geriatrician which was really helpful. If there are any issues that need resolving this happens very quickly. There are lots of communal activities and also individual activities e.g. music therapy that all contribute to supporting someone with dementia in a person centred way.
Visiting my friend who has been a resident for more than a year, I have found all the staff at The Meadow to be very caring, kind and helpful. The home could not have been better for my friend, especially since she changed rooms to one looking out to.the garden. I know that all of us who visit her feel that she is in the best possible hands.
My brother has been 2 and a half years at The Meadow. His Alzheimer's has progressed in that time. He is now feeling confused and disoriented. The deputy manager and staff have been very helpful in organising twice weekly radiotherapy appointments recently. They have also looked after him through a lengthy chest infection. I'm thankful we devoted to choose The Meadow. Liaison with GP, local hospital and community services is excellent with weekly team meetings. Visiting friends and relatives have reported that the staff are lovely and helpful and the residents look well cared for.
My 90 year old Aunt had to move care homes as her home was closing down which was very unfortunate. Everyone at the Meadow was very helpful and made it a smooth transition both for my aunt and my family. She has settled in very well and all the staff have been very kind and attentive to her needs which I am very grateful for. The rooms and bedroom are all light and airy and my aunt enjoys the activities on offer.l
My husband has been a resident at the Meadow for the past two years. I go and visit him often and always found the staff welcoming and approachable. I feel that the care home is run as a family, the carers seem to know the needs of the residents and are always willing to help them. I have also noticed that the carers get on very well with each other and in my opinion this is the key for the smooth running of a care home. I strongly recommend the Meadow as my husband has been happy there for the past two years.
My elderly mother moved into The Meadow in February 2025. The staff at the Meadow have been so kind and understanding and have done everything possible to help my Mum settle in to The Meadow. She really likes her room and with encouragement from the carers feels comfortable to join in activities with other residents. We as relatives always feel welcome to visit our loved ones, and are given prompt updates on health and any other issues. I am very happy with the care my mother is receiving at The Meadow.
The staff are thorough, friendly, kind, helpful and above all caring. They were great when my mother-in-law was moving into the care home. They went out of the way to make sure the process went smoothly and were very welcoming. Great job.
A wonderful, truly caring care home. The Meadow have looked after my mother for some three years now. The staff are unfailingly friendly, cheerful, professional. They deal, in particular, with dementia affected residents sympathetically and, crucially, intelligently, knowing how best to handle them. I once heard it reported from a GP in the area that this is where they would send their own mother. I've certainly never had a moment's regret; my mother is happy here.
The Meadow have been doing a fantastic job taking care of my parents who are both in their 90's. All the staff are very friendly and go above and beyond carrying out their duties. It's very reassuring to know that my parents are so well looked after. Highly recommended.
My mum has dementia and lives at MHA The Meadow. She is really happy there. The staff are so kind and friendly. She has made good friends with other residents. The staff are also lovely to relatives and they're always quick to respond to any queries we have. the staff keep us informed of everything and are always welcoming when we visit. I'm so glad we chose The Meadow for my mum.
My mum has been living at the Meadow for almost five years now! It is truly her home, and the team and other residents are like her extended family. The manager and their team work so hard and do everthing they can to keep their residents safe and happy. Caring for their emotional and physical wellbeing. I love to go and visit and the team is always kind and caring to my family and me too. We are incredibly grateful to have found such a wonderful home for our lovely mum! Thank you everyone at the Meadow.
Staff always helpful and go above and beyond to help and care. Everyone is very patient and kind, and I have no concerns about my friend's care. I think the staff will always work in the resident's best interests and individualise care accordingly.
Wonderful staff - they couldn't be kinder, friendlier or more helpful. My friend is very happy here, and very well looked after. It is a lovely place, with a great garden. Today we had a little party in the conservatory and it was absolutely fantastic!
Welcoming, friendly staff supported a group of the resident's friends enjoying lunch with her in a private room. Lovely relaxed visit. The home is really excellent. My friend has lived here for 6 years. The staff show understanding and compassion. I have visited at all times of day and night and have always found it calm and well-run.
Visited my cousin for the second time since she was placed here. The staff were helpful and good with the residents. My cousin is well cared for here.
I have found the staff very kind and helpful, both to the residents and visitors. The home is well-managed and run. My only query relates to whether there is enough urging of residents into activities. The other query is to do with whether there is enough medical oversight on residents who have difficulties.
I stayed in the care home for about 2 hours visiting a resident. Staff were all busy attending to other residents. They facilitated our visit by bringing us tea and biscuits and letting us in and out of the garden. The garden is beautiful but seems underused.
As visitors, we were made very welcome.
In my opinion, what matters most in a care home is the staff. How posh the surroundings are, how excellent the food, how engaging the activities... these are important, perhaps particularly to family and friends. But the staff is crucial for the well-being of the residents. The staff at the Meadow are wonderful. They are caring, warm, responsive, seemingly glad to be there, engaged and kind. They seem to know my sister well, even though she has been there for a short time so far. They have also made me feel at home there, which is much appreciated. Thank you for all that.
