Mum has been in Shaftesbury Court for one year. We have been very pleased with the care received and the dedication of the carers, staff, and managers.
During my dads stay at Shaftesbury Court he was always made to feel valued by staff and when in and out of hospital was always greeted "home" with a warm welcome, which was greatly appreciated. I was welcomed to visit at any time, as often as I liked and I felt that I had a warm and friendly relationship with staff. I trusted staff to care for my dad when I couldn't, and I could always be sure that the phone would be answered - day and night - or that I would be contacted as required - or as my dad desired, by staff that were attentive and genuinely caring. My dad's individual and unique needs were always well met with a person centred approach and I know that his relationships with individual staff members were highly valued.
Very clean, polite and patient staff. They treat and talk to you with great respect. Thank you.
The environment in the home is friendly and caring. My mum settled in quickly and was soon referring to her room as home. Visiting times are informal and there is a homely atmosphere.
Professional, person centered care at it's best. The leadership, management and person focused care at Shaftesbury Court Residential Care Home is second to none. All staff, in all roles that my mum and I have come across, genuinely care and give their all to the residents in terms of care, compassion, safety, respect and dignity. My mum is happy, safe and considers herself at home in Shaftesbury Court.
We are very pleased with Shaftsbury Court. My husband is happy here and he has a friend, they look after him very well, I am pleased to leave him here.
My mother had terminal cancer and entered Shaftesbury Court when it became unsafe for her to remain in her home. From the beginning, the care she received was exemplary – the staff always kind and attentive, her clean and spacious room overlooking a sunny garden. End-of-life care was provided with sensitivity, compassion and empathy in close collaboration with the excellent community nursing team. In all respects, this home exceeded our expectations.
Mum has been in for respite care on and off for the last 2 years. She thoroughly enjoys being there. She finds the staff courteous, pleasant and very helpful. To the point now she wants to stay full-time.
Since coming to Shaftesbury Court, I have been very happy here. The staff are very friendly and supportive. The activities are good; I have learnt how to play Scrabble. I love bingo and chillout hours in the bar listening to jazz or music of my choice. I love my flat, so homely. The kitchen is suitable for my needs.
The home is very special. I have been here for six months. I am enjoying it very much.
I think that the home is fantastic. Heaven on Earth.
The care my brother receives is excellent. The care home is clean, and residents all seem very contented. I am kept well informed about matters concerning my brother.
Difficult to judge as unfortunate timing re: toilet blocking and norovirus. Staff are very friendly and willing to help.
