  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 6 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Shaftesbury Court Residential Care Home in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

Detailed Breakdown

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.875 for Shaftesbury Court Residential Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (63 Excellents x 5) + (9 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 72 Ratings = 4.875

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

    3. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

The 4.25 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Shaftesbury Court Residential Care Home is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 3.75

    2. Target of 8 positive Reviews (40 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 4 Reviews ÷ 8 Target = 0.500

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

My husband, although sometimes difficult, was treated with care and respect whatever his needs. All his needs were treated with dignity and kindness.

Standard of care is excellent. The carers are the best we have seen, so caring, helpful to my mother as they are to the family and nothing is too much trouble for them, right down from the manager, office staff, carers, chef and his workers. The ladies in charge of the laundry to the cleaners a great team 1st class.
Accommodation is amazing, modern, spacious and the garden area is a plus in the summer. I would recommend this home to anyone and have done.

My mother is very well looked after. I visit at least twice per week to see all is well. Most of the staff are caring and attentive to my mother's needs. There has been a change of management recently which has caused a few issues with the staff. The residents don't seem to have been affected.

Wonderful staff . A comfortable caring place to live. My father was a resident from Jan 2016 until Nov 2017 and not once was there a concern. I am confident he was happy and very well cared for. Nicely decorated and furnished rooms where you can add your own personal homely touches. Lovely meals and drinks provided. A nice safely enclosed garden is available. My dad had his favourite staff and I'd like to thank them and all the ladies for the care and warmth they showed my dad. I recommend this home and it's wonderful staff.

There are nice equipped flats (bedroom, living room, kitchen, walk-in-shower, walk-in-closet and a balcony. The rooms are renovated. There is a nice garden in the middle of the care home.
On one side you have care if you want, on the other side you can be on your own.
Laundry is done, there are coffee, tea, sugar, fresh milk and biscuits in your kitchen. Meal is delicious, my aunt mentioned.

Although it is a care home and never can be compared with the own home, it has a real nice appearance. Could not find a better place for my aunt. I am pleased to know that she is in a safe place. Thanks to the manager and all the staff for the good care, also helping me with entry and all things around. Regards

On behalf of my brother and sister we would like to say the following:

Our dad lived at the care home for the past 12 years and was extremely happy. Over the past few months since his illness and subsequent death last Thursday we cannot praise, and thank, the staff enough for all they have done for him and for the love and kindness in the way they cared for him. Even though his death has left us devastated we know it has also affected the staff and it is lovely to know that they will miss him also.

Thank you from the bottom of our broken hearts.

All the staff are wonderful caring people who work tirelessly to make the residents comfortable and feel at home.
