9.6 Group Review Score (the average from all locations with a review score)
  • Care Homes Owned by Sanctuary Care Ltd
Sanctuary Care was first established in 1995 to provide older people with a range of high-quality care services, including residential, dementia and nursing care.

Part of Sanctuary Group, which is an exempt charity, Sanctuary Care has over 110 homes across England and Scotland. They are proud to be a not-for-profit organisation meaning the surplus made by Sanctuary Care is reinvested into the business which allows them to provide residents with excellent standards of care from well managed and well-maintained homes.

They believe in going above and beyond to enrich people's lives - whether that's residents, their loved ones or staff.

For residents, Sanctuary Care looks at what makes every person unique, the people close to their hearts, their passions and dreams yet to be fulfilled, and the continuity of living they need to feel content, happy and fulfilled. Knowing all of this enables the teams to deliver truly person-centred care to each and every individual who lives in the homes.

Rushyfields Residential and Nursing Home

from J M (Wife of Resident) published on 26 February 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
Staff are friendly, including admin.Manager and deputy are open to comments and concerns. Activities lass does her upmost to find something that residents can enjoy either on their own or in group. She also trys hard to raise funds.
Unfortunately the domestic angle is not very good, staff friendly but
standards poor.
More than once I have had to ask for bedroom to be cleaned, toilet and bin to be emptied. Often items are to be seen under furniture in the lounge ( over 48hrs).
Laundry is another sore point, items go missing, sometimes might turn up after a long wait. I frequently have to return items of clothing that doesn't belong to my husband 2/3 times a week.husbands clothes are named and tagged. Am sure residents would not wish to wear other people's clothes.
Chairs are in need of a good clean, often there are chairs without seat cushions in the lounge.
Over all staff do their hardest for residents and visitors.

They listened to our concerns and needs for him, and adapted accordingly. The  staff are caring and provide information on his wellbeing regularly, and the
home has a stable staff, we see the same carers often, and they show a genuine interest. His room is always very clean and tidy. They take good care of his dietary needs, with a good and varied menu, and ensure he eats his meals. The home has entertainment regularly that he enjoys. Thank you.

I only have praise for this care home, the staff (I can't single one out) are all fantastic, nothing is too much trouble, and they treat every resident with kindness and dignity. The home is always clean and tidy. The food is fantastic, and the rooms are lovely.
I always recommend this home when anyone
asks - the main plus is the staff, absolutely lovely, all of them.

I cannot speak highly enough of the ongoing care my mother receives. She is fully dependent for all cares and is immaculate, clean, calm and cared for at all hours of the day. The staff lead on exceptional care and support us in making sure we have considered every aspect of my mother's needs which
they then go on to provide in an extremely respectful manner. It brings great peace as a relative to know that when you finish visiting the love and care for your relative remains. Thank you.

My mother-in-law has been a resident at Rushyfields for a year now and has settled very well into her surroundings. She is always clean and tidy and has gained weight since admission. Staff are friendly approachable, and I feel able to voice any concerns I may have knowing they will be acted upon promptly
and efficiently. We as a family are always made to feel welcome. Some of the furnishings in main sitting room look tired + worn which can give a poor first impression but the lovely staff certainly make up for that. Rooms are clean and pleasant. I would certainly recommend Rushyfields.

Mum has become a permanent resident at Juniper. This was following two recent respites. I find myself saying I have nothing but praise for the wonderful care staff looking after Mum, as they get to know her specific needs. There is an excellent team at this care home, including the wonderful ladies
on reception. Nicky in particular helped clinch the deal, so to speak, while I made one of the most difficult decisions of my life, entrusting my loved one to more capable and professional hands. The fantastic 'nothing is too much' maintenance guy is an absolute star! The home has a great housekeeping and kitchen team too. I would describe the carers as nothing short of being guardian angels, so thank you! My advice to anyone placing or having a loved one in respite or permanent care, is to communicate any concerns you may have. I have found the staff very quick to respond in addressing the issues, whilst prioritising the resident's needs & safety.

My mother was a resident at Ridgewood Court Care Home while living with Alzheimer's disease, and I cannot speak highly enough of the care she received.
The staff at Ridgewood Court are outstanding. They showed remarkable kindness, patience, and understanding, always treating my mum with dignity and
respect. Their knowledge of Alzheimer's and their compassionate approach gave our family great reassurance that she was safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for.
What truly set Ridgewood Court apart was the empathy shown by the staff, particularly at the time of my mother's passing. The sensitivity, support, and kindness extended to our family during such a painful time meant more than words can express. It was clear that the care and compassion they showed was heartfelt and sincere.
I am incredibly grateful to the entire team at Ridgewood Court Care Home and would highly recommend them to anyone seeking a caring, supportive, and professional environment for a loved one

My father was in Dovecotes Care for just over 6 months. He had dementia and when it became impossible to look after him at home we had to find somewhere for him quickly, Which the management helped with and got him in the very next day. We were all so grateful for that as my mother could not cope any
longer. From the moment he arrived he was looked after so well, he wasn't able to join in most of the activities that happen every day but he loved the variety of singers and the other entertainment that always seems to be on. The care staff are amazing, so kind and caring. They do a very difficult job and they are all so happy and they always have time for a little chat. The home is immaculate, his room was so cosy, my father loved the food, so much choice and always available. Unfortunately my father passed away in Dovecote in December but as a family we are very happy with the care he received. We actually not only miss visiting him but we miss all the staff and other residents.

Both of my parents are residents of St Breock care home and I've found the whole experience of them moving in very positive.
The staff clearly care about their work and have worked hard to ensure that my parents need are met and that they are enjoying a quality of life that they deserve, they are being
treated with dignity and respect at all times.
Not only are my parents looked after but I and my siblings have also received a lot of time, care and attention from the staff and management which has ensured that at an emotional time for all involved their move into residential care has been smooth and painless.
Overall I cannot recommend them enough.

I only have praise for this home!!! My mum-in- law (Marie) has moderate vascular dementia and the care she is receiving here is absolutely wonderful. The staff are just brilliant with her, and she is looking far better than she has ever been since her diagnosis. Her room is light and airy with a lovely
balcony overlooking the garden. The building itself and the communal facilities are well-kept, clean and bright. The staff really care about her welfare and go above and beyond. I am so impressed at how friendly and patient they are and they have really helped ease my and my husband's worries about mum's welfare. They are also proactive in terms of suggesting things that could be improved for my mum's care - and that counts for a lot!! They also have really good safekeeping procedures in place which has further contributed to easing our worries about mum's welfare. Thank you very much to Olu and every single member of the team for all the help with mum, brilliant job!

There is nothing any member of staff will not do to help if any is needed. The support to myself at this difficult time has been amazing. Bradwell's team looked after my Grandma for just over two years & we couldn't have picked a better home. Me and my family don't live close by & we always knew she was in the best hands.
Whilst choosing the right home for my Grandma, the staff made us feel so welcome whilst showing us around. The process
of moving in was so easy and everyone was very helpful.
The home is amazing; spacious, lots of natural light & a lovely garden to look out onto, there was also a space that was often set aside for us as a family of 8 to spend time with her in a more private setting - the kitchen often cooked up a meal for us.
Whenever we visited it was clear how much the staff cared for her and all the residents. Being part of the social media group meant we got to see all the fun activities they have on - and her 100th birthday celebrations!
So much dignity and care was given to my Grandma throughout her stay and we also felt looked after by the team when she passed. I can't sing their praises enough.
