Care Homes Owned by Sanctuary Care Ltd

9.7 Group Review Score (the average from all locations with a review score)
  • Care Homes Owned by Sanctuary Care Ltd
Sanctuary Care was first established in 1995 to provide older people with a range of high-quality care services, including residential, dementia and nursing care.

Part of Sanctuary Group, which is an exempt charity, Sanctuary Care has over 110 homes across England and Scotland. They are proud to be a not-for-profit organisation meaning the surplus made by Sanctuary Care is reinvested into the business which allows them to provide residents with excellent standards of care from well managed and well-maintained homes.

They believe in going above and beyond to enrich people's lives - whether that's residents, their loved ones or staff.

For residents, Sanctuary Care looks at what makes every person unique, the people close to their hearts, their passions and dreams yet to be fulfilled, and the continuity of living they need to feel content, happy and fulfilled. Knowing all of this enables the teams to deliver truly person-centred care to each and every individual who lives in the homes.

Ashwood Park Residential & Nursing Home

Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My mother in law was admitted into the hands of the intermediate care unit after spending 4 weeks in hospital. I cannot believe how much she has improved and this is all down to the fantastic care she is receiving. The Team leaders and care assistants are amazing nothing is a bother to them. From the
moment you enter Ashwood Park you are greeted with a smile and a hello. Her room is kept clean and is odour free. She has said they feed you too much ha ha but I have been there when they offer her a choice from the menu on the day and there is always an alternative if it is not what she wants. There is lots of activities on and this is given to her at the beginning of the week on an activity planner. The residents are offered hot and cold drinks throughout the day and when we are visiting we are also offered these. The volunteer gardener is so pleasant and jolly. They have the ducks in the garden and when the weather is nice I have witnessed the residents sitting in the garden

Lake View Residential Care Home

from John H (Son of Resident) published on 30 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My mother spent the final 20 months of her life at Lake View, during which time she was extremely happy and very well looked after. All staff who came in to contact with mum had a cheery word which made her feel at home; indeed she referred to Lake View as her home. We were so happy that she was at
Lake View, in the knowledge that she was safe, secure and happy.

The staff always went that extra mile to provide fulfilling activities for all residents and mum was very happy to attend the residents meetings in the knowledge that her suggestions were listened to and being taken into account.

We are so very grateful to all staff at Lake View for their unbelievable care, love and professionalism. Thank you to all staff, both day and night staff, who enabled her to feel safe and secure to the end. We will always remember the dignity and respect shown to mum at her passing.

We wholeheartedly recommend Lake View Care Home.

Mum was very happy in your care. Sincere thanks to you all.

Rowanweald Residential and Nursing Home

from Sue G (Niece of Resident) published on 30 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My Auntie chose this home for when the time came that she could not look after herself, it was the best choice she could have made, unfortunately she had to be in the nursing part instead of the residential because her health had drastically deteriorated by the time she needed to be there, I cannot
express how, caring, professional and loving this home is, they gave my Auntie the best care and support that she so needed, nothing was too much and it put my mind at ease to know she was safe, from the administration team to management to nursing staff the support was always there
They will always have a special place in my heart

Cedar Court Residential & Nursing Home

from E N (Daughter of Resident) published on 30 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My Mum has recently become a permanent resident in Cedar Court. I can honestly say the staff are amazing, so caring, thoughtful and attentive. Nothing is too much bother for them, they go above and beyond each and every day, the respect and compassion they have shown Mum while she comes to terms with
this massive change in her life has been second to none. She is extremely tactile, and I have to say the staff happily indulge this "little trait" she has, which Mum absolutely relishes. The other residents are so nice too, I often feel like I'm visiting a number of them when I go in, it's so sweet. There's always lots going on, great activities as well as time to relax with a cuppa. Mum says she's in a 5* hotel, I have to agree, she's waited on hand and foot !
It's clean, bright, has lovely rooms, and always nice food. Family and friends of the residents are welcomed warmly.
My family and I are so grateful.
I 100% recommend Cedar Court if you're looking for somewhere for a loved one.

Mum came for respite following a very bad fall. We were told she would not survive. She has, and I believe if she had not gone to sanctuary, she would not be here now. Staff are amazing, friendly and patient & very caring. Staff was incredibly supportive at such a stressful time for the family/ Such
special memories of you all & lovely lunches, amazing food, and meeting residents too.

Fernihurst Nursing Home

Due to her Alzheimers condition. My wife has been a resident in Fernihurst for more than two years. The family and I feel blessed that a place was available for her in the first instance and that the quality and standard of care provided has been excellent. My wife continues to be very content and enjoys
her homely surroundings with plenty of activities supported by attentive nurses, carers and management. Relatives are free to share in the activities and we have just enjoyed a marvellous Mother's Day celebration with entertainment followed by a wonderful afternoon tea. We know she is in the right place for the right reasons. So pleased!

Regent Residential Care Home

Wow! Regent opened up Sunday Lunch to families for Mother's Day. I booked in along with my daughters. Mum had a lovely time; the St John's Lounge was used. A table beautifully presented, flowers on the table etc. We were provided with waitress service, it was great fun. We usually take Mum out but she
had been poorly. The lovely, attentive staff made it perfect! Thank you to all involved, as I always spend Mother's Day with Mum and was worried, but Regent made it very special. Great success.

My mother has settled in well and happy within her environment. She is well able to communicate and mix with other residents, which is important to her. Her mobility is becoming difficult because of her bad knee but she insists to continue to walk as much as possible.
There is always a welcoming response
when mum returns, all staff look after mothers needs. I am well informed of any change to her medication. Activities organised within the home are much appreciated.

Thank you to all staff, especially catering/kitchen team for the beautiful birthday cake and the way mam was made to feel "Queen for the day" on her 97th birthday, her first in care. What a wonderful place the Pavillion is, the joy and laughter shared by carers and those cared for at the event on Wednesday
26th March. The atmosphere was buzzing with delight and the face of my mam and everyone else said it all. A lot of work goes into organising such occasions. Thank you.

I have been coming to BGL for a number years with 4 family members as far back as 8 years. They have all passed away at BGL with excellent end of life care. My mom passed away this month and I would just like to thank all the amazing staff for the love care and support they have given my family over
the years. I have recommended BGL to a lot of people and will continue to do so as they always go that little bit extra in everything they do. The staff are amazing not only the carers but kitchen laundry maintenance management and activities. I am so grateful for everything you have all done for me and my fam.

Watlington & District Residential and Nursing Home

from S H (Friend of Resident) published on 22 April 2025

Lovely atmosphere, staff always chatty & helpful. Plenty of activities, my friend's hair and nails always well kept. Care is always taken so that clothing is well presented and colour co-ordinated. In fact, everywhere is very colourful, this is important. Love to see all the photographs of activities,
everyone looks happy & cheerful. As a lady approaching 90, the sort of place I would like if needed! The food (from the menu) always looks intresing.

My relative has been a resident in Trevern for over a year now. In that time I have found the staff to be always cheerful, helpful and have made contact with me when the need had arisen. They always offer to help if I wish to move my relative to another room when visiting. On a few occasions when
it has been necessary, they have responded immediately to an incident that needed their imput while I was there. The food always looks appertising and drinks are always provided. They include my relative in activities which they organise. I am very happy with the safety provided in this secure setting.

I have visited a friend in the Watlington & District Residential and Nursing Home regularly over the last 2 years, and it has always been a total joy. All the Reception and Care staff have have greeted us with a beaming smile, offered us news of our friend, including showing recent photographs taken
at activities or celebrations, and created the most wonderful atmosphere throughout. How lucky the residents to be surrounded by beautiful countryside and totally committed staff.
