Visiting my sister in law, I was impressed by security access - welcomed by very friendly meet and greet. Staff we came into contact with were warm, friendly, and professional; they showed empathy with my sister in law. Great cup of coffee. Felt my sister in law in good, safe hands. Thank you to the

Reception on the first day was very welcoming and I settled in to the routine very quickly. All the staff were very engaging with a very caring attitude. When it was time to leave, I was sad to go because of the friendship created with the staff.

From day one my nan was greated by some wonderful staff from manager, receptionist and all care staff. We were amazed at how Nan has settled in, also how they have all achieved to get her personal care back to where she was. She is settling in well thanks so much to all the dedicated staff.

I don't write reviews normally but on this occasion I feel I must if only to let other people know what to expect if they are considering the Nursing part of this home for their loved ones. My Dad recently had a short stay, as we moved him shortly after arriving as the care he was giving was below adequate.
Basic needs of hygiene, nutrition & cleanliness were not met at all. The food was very poor, lacking any nutritional value and not enough to sustain a healthy appetite, disticint lack of basics like water giving at regular intervals if any was giving at all, , the room was dirty on arrival and remained dirty throughout my dads stay, and in over 3 weeks stay my dad was only bathed on 2 occasions. I found the staff rude and unhelpful and lacking any respect for elderly loved ones they are caring for, also there were no activities available for my dad on the ward he was staying, I would not recommend Cedar Nursing to anyone based on my experience.
Reply from Fae Doherty, Senior Marketing Officer at Cedar Court Residential & Nursing Home

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are truly saddened to hear about your experience and the concerns you've raised regarding your father's recent stay with us. We take all feedback seriously, especially when it relates to the wellbeing and dignity of those in our care. My dad became a resident in April. From the very beginning he has received exceptional care from both carers and nurses. Staff are lovely and friendly and approachable and nothing is ever a bother. Although my dad does not take part in any activities there's always something going on.
This was a massive
decision for my family to have dad move here but we have no regrets. I have not one bad thing to say about this home.

From the first visit I have experienced a friendly professional attitude from all the staff. Mum has been made to feel cared for and made very welcome. Mum is eating much better now and overall less anxious. On a personal level I coudldn't ask for any more, I feel completely at ease and confident in
the happy, caring environment she is living.

Pleasant and friendly staff and residents. The room has plenty of room with a light big window, room for a comfy chair to watch TV and happy that I can have some of my personal familiar belongings. We have activities and outings planned which I enjoy. I have my hair done at our own haridressers every
Friday.

From first look around we knew this was the place for our Nan. The day she was booking in she was aprehenise about getting out care but the staff we incredibly talking to her and reasuring her she went in no problem. Nothing is a problem with the staff every single person is so kind and caring. My nan
has dementia and at home her personal care was slipping the first 2 days at Birchwood and she let the girls attend to personal care - hair cut and nails clipped. We cannot thank the manager and his staff enough we feel like they are looking after our nan like she is there own family :)

Thank you so much for your kind words. We're so glad your Nan felt at ease and welcomed-especially during such a big transition. This care home has made our mam safe and felt loved. She is happy to offer cuddles to staff (noting she is unable to speak or write). The staff are lovely with her. Staff do ask for regular feedback and act upon our wishes and listen to us. We feel more domestic staff would be useful to help with laundry
and clothing returns and room cleaning. We pay vast amounts to Sanctuary Care - would be nice to see them re-invest the fees we pay to this local care home not the main HQ. We are full fee payers.
