I recently arranged a respite stay for my husband Christopher, back in February and for a week beginning of April, making the decision to entrust your partner into the care of others is overwhelming, mixed emotions of worry, guilt and uncertainty, especially when it's someone who means so much to you,
that's why this recent respite stay meant more to me than just a short break, it was about placing our trust in others during a very emotional time, from meeting both Pauline and Katy they showed such genuine warmth and understanding, they saw a person and they treated him with kindness, dignity and patience, and made all the difference to us as a family, helping to ease what is a very difficult step in our journey. Throughout his stay we felt reassured that not only was he safe, he was truly cared for and we are deeply grateful to all the staff for the care, kindness shown and more importantly, this experience has also helped make the transition to full time care feel less daunting

My mum's care and loving support from all staff and management is second to none. In every aspect, a kinder, caring care home you could not meet. Level of service goes above and beyond expectations, and very happy my mum is being cared for by Westwood House.

My sister went into Abercorn House in January 2026 after being in hospital for 9 weeks, as a family we were all worried about how she would be, but she has settled really well due to the staff as they could not have been nicer, everyone made her feel very welcome and are so helpful with us when we have
any questions. It means so much to us that she is happy and that she is doing more and joining in as much as she can. Definitely the best place we could have chosen.

Westwood Care Home provides a truly outstanding standard of care. From the moment you walk through the doors, the warm and welcoming atmosphere is immediately clear. The staff are exceptionally kind, attentive, and professional, always treating residents with genuine dignity and respect.
What stands
out most is the level of compassion shown by the entire team. They take the time to get to know each resident personally, ensuring everyone feels valued, comfortable, and safe. It's clear that the wellbeing of residents is always the top priority.
The home itself is clean, bright, and well-maintained, creating a pleasant and homely environment. Residents are encouraged to take part in a wide range of activities, helping them stay engaged, active, and socially connected.
Only criticism is carparking is very limited and not in the best condition.
I would highly recommend this care home to anyone looking for a supportive, compassionate, and professional environment for their family member.

My Dad has now been a resident in Forefaulds for almost 4 years. From the moment we placed my Dad in here we knew it was definitely the right decision and the right care home for him to be in. The caring & warm friendly team of staff took time to get to know not only my Dad but us too as a family,
he was encouraged to join in the many activities go on days out, and the staff took time to know his likes and dislikes and how to be with him when he was upset.
There is always someone to have a chat with and we are kept updated at all times on my Dad. The staff are just amazing and its reassuring knowing he is in good hands.

My Dad is new to the care home since November and so far I'm very pleased with the care and attention he receives. This stage if his life is extremely important to him and to me and it's very reassuring to know he is being well looked after.

Our uncle initally came to forefaulds for 2 weeks respite whilst we went on holiday and has never left when we returned and saw the transformation in his general well being and his mental health and the fact that he asked if he could possibly stay confirmed that the care and support he received had
been the best we could ever wish for. Our aunt at that time was in another home and we were able to get my aunt also into forefaulds where they will be able to spend the rest of their life together .it is so so heart warming to visit and see them together and also hear from my uncle about the activities they have completed that week
Everyone from management,nurses,carers and housekeeping are all kind, caring and extremely professional. Our aunt and uncle are very happy and so are we knowing that they are both safe and well cared for. All the family would highly recommend this and especially the grandkids who actually ASK to visit given that it is such a friendly place

The team at Abercorn have been amazing - they are kind, thoughtful & caring and nothing is a bother to them. They have taken excellent care with my dad.

All staff at Forefaulds provide wonderful care and support to my loved one. They make constant efforts to get to know all residents, their likes and dislikes, and respond to new information.
Not only are there varied activities for residents, the staff's participation in these is beyond impressive.
Nothing seems to be a bother for them either.
Personally, my family appreciates how the team celebrate annual events, particularly in LGBTQIA+ history month.
That they ensure the residents can engage with local ministries and children coming to sing and play is exceptional inter-generational work.
The staff show their care and interest to visitors constantly and it has been a pleasure getting to know them too.
Fundraising for residents' outings etc are always based in fun and they are excellent advocates for other charities in the locality.

My mum became a resident in forefaulds in August 25 ,there was a couple of wee teething problems at the beginning but since then she has settled in great. She has a much better quality of life than she did at home and we know she is safe there. The staff are great and she's encouraged to get involved
in activities she enjoys. My elderly dad visits twice a day and is made to feel welcome at all times, as are the rest of the family. Really can't fault the care she receives and we are kept informed every step of the way.

Forefaulds is fantastic with my mum from the carers to the cleaners the entertainment staff (kirsty) they go above amd beyond with everyone and everything. We as a family cannot fault anything . The place is so clean and nothing is any bother to the staff

My mother receives excellent care from staff who are all very friendly polite and professional. I can see how safe she feels in the environment and the various activities that she is able to get involved in gives her a good quality of life.

Our Mum has been a resident at Forefaulds for 2 years. The staff are approachable ,friendly, kind and caring .They have a good rapport with Mum and understand her needs. We are kept updated about any issues or changes. Mum greatly benefits from the variety of daily activities offered . Examples are
baking , gardening, mini golf , entertainers, therapets and crafting.. She has also enjoyed the regular outings for pub lunches and to the seaside in the home minibus Families are welcomed to join for events such as Mother's Day tea and quiz nights . This care facility is situated in an old adapted building but there is excellent maintenance and refurbishment programmes to ensure the residents safety and comfort.

Forefaulds Care Home is an excellent care home for elderly and dementia related residents. The Leadership Team, the Nursing Team and the Care Team are first class.
My Dad has been a resident at the home since mid October 2025, he has many needs and he has settled well. The staff have made a great
effort to integrate him seamlessly and understand him as an individual. I am amazed that in such a short time, the staff recognise me and associate me with my Dad, this really helps at visiting time and when I call for an update. Communication with the staff has been great and this is particularly reassuring when I can't make a visit.
I have seen individual acts of caring by the staff that really gives me comfort that my dad is being well looked after. The food and the variety of menu is quality and wholesome and my Dad is enjoying this aspect, weight gain after many years of the opposite.
My experience of the home is very positive and I would highly recommend to others.

Abercorn Care Home is just an absolute Sanctuary, it is part of the Sanctuary Group and the name is so best appropriate
I would also call it a Hotel for the VIP Residents as they are treated so well and looked after
The Care Home Manager, Assistant Manager, Administrative Manager, Nurses, Staff, Chefs
all work so hard to ensure the Residents are so cared for and attention to detail ix exceptional
Abercorn Care Home is a delight from when you enter, it has a wonderful atmosphere of happiness and it sparkles there is always something going on with the Events Team and they go above and beyond, they are such an inspiration and bring such joy and happiness to not only the Residents but the family and visitors to Abercorn, everyone is included and they are just the best thank you for all you do
I love visiting and they have given my Mum her life back on so many occasions we cannot thank Abercorn and everyone there enough for all they do. Thank you so much
