My mother moved into Iffley Residential and Nursing Home in February 2026. My mother and our family have been made to feel very welcome and supported by all of the staff team. My mother has a lovely room and she is able to retain her independence, whilst also being supported by staff as required. Our family recently joined our mother at an 'Hawaiian based' bbq, which involved the residents holding activities such as painting large palm tree leaves etc. We all had a great day. The staff are supportive and kind and are very approachable. The menus are varied and cater for all tastes, We are relaxed and reassured by mum's team. Thank-you.

The highly experienced staff are always on top of the tasks in hand, providing relatives with the reassurance that their loved ones are in good hands.

My first impression of the home was a friendly, homely place which, as it is close to where mum lives, suited her well for the few weeks of respite care following a fall. Many of the staff were particularly kind and thoughtful making her stay a comfortable one. There were, however, several concerns which arose. Poor communication - staff not listening or responding to requests. Inadequate cleanliness and hygiene. Unsafe areas in the grounds not clearly cordoned off. Lack of concern for an item - a personal possession of sentimental value,

My dad has just returned from a successful weeks respite. The home were very accommodating when trying to set the visit up as we were very nervous and anxious about him going, they couldn't have done any more for us, even allowing both of my parents to visit for lunch the week before, to help with the transition. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and all gave my dad hugs when we went to collect him. We are so relieved that it went well and will definitely use again for respite in the future.

We are so grateful for everything you do. We always leave knowing Dad is safe, happy and being cared for by the very best. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

My mum has been in the home for over 2 years and has had excellent care throughout. The staff are so caring and look after the residents so well. My mum has dementia and they have been excellent throughout always keeping me up to date. The staff work so hard but are so kind. They also always make time to listen to the relatives concerns too. If your relative gets a place here they will be very lucky.

Cannot ask for anything more.

The staff are always friendly and welcoming and have taken the time to get to know my Aunt and are so patient and understanding. The home is always spotlessly clean and is set in the most beautiful grounds

I am a resident that lives in this care home. Since the day I started, I have found everyone to be friendly. All the care workers have been really kind and helpful. I explored other homes but this one felt more homeley. It has lived up to my expectations

For the last three years, I have done a weekly COFE Communication service at Sanctuary Care Home in Watlington. We even had a Bishop of Dorchester visit us in March to confirm a 93-year-old resident. The staff are always friendly, caring and competent. I never have any hesitation in recommending Sanctuary to our local community. I am always impressed with their level of competence and compassion.

Mum has been in the home for almost four years. The diligence of the staff and their genuine concern for her welfare has been unwavering. In every role, the team has a clear objective to make the residents as comfortable as possible.

Care home is run very efficiently, however also with great regard to the quality of comfort and health of the residents. Plenty of engaging activities for all and staff very friendly, helpful and attentive towards residents and visitors. Great lunches and atmosphere is very warm and welcoming.

The care provided for my father is excellent. Staff care and treat him with compassion and dignity. Ambience is warm and inviting and one of safety and security.

Now well settled in to a new way of living, I could not be more pleased and reassured. She chose very well.

My daughter and I had to hurriedly find a care home for my husband as his dementia was sharply in decline; also, as a laryngectomee, he needed nursing care 24/7.

We were so blessed to find the Sanctuary in Wantage, and were fortunate that they could take him immediately. The carers and nursing staff were so caring and compassionate, they treated those in their care with respect for the dignity of the patient, always having a smile and a cheerful word. The day and night staff were both exemplary.

The front of house staff were so considerate and friendly, welcoming us with genuine warmth. Whilst the administrative staff were extremely efficient, and took care of all formalities, paperwork and our concerns.

The carers and nursing staff were very attentive, sensitive and kind. They all treated those in their care with respect for the dignity of the patient, always having a smile and a cheerful word. Both day and night staff were exemplary.

Other areas at the home are equally efficient, e.g., laundry and cleaning.

I thoroughly recommend the Sanctuary to all who need care or end of life care.

Watlington Nursing Home is a well presented property with its own gardens and in a quite location in the Oxfordshire countryside. Staff and nurses go about their business with quite efficiency very friendly and engage with any questions the visitor may have and also provide updates on medical visits / medication. Décor and furnishings are also very well presented and very clean and secure. The resident is always well presented dressed clean and comfortable whether in bed or wheelchair and all her specific needs are cared for

Visiting the home is of course difficult as a relative but the team are so friendly and helpful. They certainly make it easier. It's clear that our gran is well looked after. The team seem to make an effort to get to know her and her regular visitors and it makes all the difference. The place is always spotless and has a beautiful, accessible garden.

Watlington Sanctuary Care has provided outstanding support to my mother-in-law. The staff are amazing, and the activities on offer fill each day. It was a difficult decision putting Mum into care, but it was 100% the right one for her health and wellbeing. We can't thank the care home enough.

Now, as on all previous occasions, I have been so impressed by the welcome given by the staff and by their cheerful and caring support for the residents. The Care Home is always clean, bright, welcoming and tidy. Although I hope that I may never need to live in a Care Home, I will be very happy to become a resident in this lovely Watlington Care Home it it ever becomes necessary.
