Everything you would expect from a first-class care home and then so much more. All the staff go above and beyond, taking care to the next level. Care not only for the residents but also for all the family. I could not have wished for my father to have been in a better place, and all my family were
encompassed in the care and compassion during his final days.
Reply from Jacob Hardie, Design and Marketing Assistant at Watlington & District Residential and Nursing HomeThank you for sharing such a heartfelt review. It means so much to know that your father felt so well supported and that you and your family were embraced with care and compassion during such an important time.

Mum gets excellent care by the staff who are incredibly patient and warm with her. The activities are fantastic - a fabulous mix of things that we would not have the time and energy to provide if she was still living with us. The quality of the facilities (her room, private bathroom, communal areas
and gardens) and the food are really good (more fresh fruit and salads please), but the best thing are the staff. Having made the adjustment, for all of us, of having mum in a home rather than with us, we know that she is settled, happy and occupied and we can balance her care and needs with our own busy lives.
Reply from Jacob Hardie, Design and Marketing Assistant at Yarnton Residential and Nursing HomeThank you for sharing such thoughtful feedback. We're so pleased to hear that your mum is receiving warm and patient care, and that she enjoys the experiences available to her. It means a great deal to know she feels settled, happy and well supported, and that the home environment brings comfort and reassurance to your family.

I cannot speak highly enough of the ongoing care my mother receives. She is fully dependent for all cares and is immaculate, clean, calm and cared for at all hours of the day. The staff lead on exceptional care and support us in making sure we have considered every aspect of my mother's needs which
they then go on to provide in an extremely respectful manner. It brings great peace as a relative to know that when you finish visiting the love and care for your relative remains. Thank you.

On Sunday 25/01/26 my daughter and I had a review of my husband's condition and situation with a senior nurse at the Watlington Home. We were entirely satisfied with the way it was conducted and brought up to date with George's treatment and present conditioned. The review was conducted with kindness,
and a real sense of compassion for my husband who was present. We had no complaints to express but asked questions which were thoughtfully answered and reassuring.

My husband has been a resident in the dementia unit for two years. He is looked after by staff who are caring and kind. The atmosphere is light and bright with wonderful gardens for everyone to see through large windows in the winter and enjoy activities in the summer.
The staff make Watlington
a special place they do an amazing job, I'm very happy to leave my husband in their care.

I joined a resident for Christmas lunch and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The meal was fine (could've been a little warmer) and quite filling, well cooked. The dining room was spacious, clean, well lit with splendid views of the garden. The staff were polite, attentive, welcoming and efficient.
They were helpful in getting my partner and I coffee tea biscuits after joining our friend in her room. They also helped us to bring in 2 guinea pigs which my partner owns, to the delight of our friend and several other residents who loved stroking and petting (I know you have therapy animal brought in to engage with residents) them!
Reply from Kate Czeczko, Business Development Manager at Yarnton Residential and Nursing HomeThank you for your lovely feedback. We're pleased you enjoyed the Christmas lunch, the dining environment, and the warm, attentive care from our team. Your comments about the food temperature will be shared with our catering staff. We're also delighted that the guinea pigs brought so much joy to your friend and other residents - moments like this truly mean a lot to us. We hope to welcome you again soon.

As has always been the case during the four years my wife has been a resident here. I am impressed by the exceptionally high standard maintained by the staff. My wife's needs are met in a professional yet intensely caring manner. The standards of her care are quite outstanding. The staff are friendly,
helpful and always welcoming. The home itself compares with a Boutique Hotel. Excellent.

Dad's been at Wantage nursing home since 2021, the care has always been excellent, the staff show genuine compassion and respect for the residents and we never dread going to visit as it's such a happy environment with lots of engaging activities going on. The team even set up a private room for us
this weekend to celebrate Dad's 80th, with a birthday banner and a little buffet, a completely lovely surprise! We couldn't be happier with the care Dad receives here, the team are a credit to the industry.

My mother, who suffers from dementia, is resident at Yarnton. The people make the place and this is certainly the case here. Over the many past months we've seen that, without exception, the team at Yarnton have displayed a huge degree of care and empathy (dare I say love, even?) for my mother. This
attitude creates a safe, protective and cheerful atmosphere for her to live in. While she can't be cured, of course, she is at least stress-free and content despite it, which was sadly not the case when she lived with me and my wife. Dementia is 'second childhood' i.e. the victim's mind reverts to a childlike state. Well, she can't lie and it's clear from what she says and how she behaves around the staff that my mother is very content and settled. Full credit for this to the entire nursing and management team. Her improvement has been so good that she's been able to come off ALL of the calming medications that were previously necessary! Thank you so much. Please keep up the great work.
Reply from Kate Czeczko, Business Development Manager at Yarnton Residential and Nursing HomeThank you so much for sharing such a heartfelt review. When I made the very hard decision to place my lovely wife into a nursing home because I could no longer cope with her Alzheimer's, I took great care to ensure that she would be happy and well looked after. I wanted somewhere:- 1)The staff were very caring, friendly and happy in their work. The majority
of staff have worked in this home for many years, which indicates that it is well run from the top down. 2) The building was clean, light and airy and well well-furnished and surrounded by beautiful countryside. Upon looking out of the windows, one can see beautiful tended gardens, open fields and hills. Good entertainment is provided and good well-presented, wholesome food. I definitely made the right choice.

We tried to keep my 96 year old mother at home as long as we could but had to make the tough decision to put her in a Nursing/Care home last September 2024. This turned out to be the best decision we could have made given the excellent care she received in her last year of life. She had Alzheimer's
and a debilitating neurological disease and they made her welcome, looked after her superbly and made her last year memorable and gave her dignity and warmth. My family and I owe the nurses and staff of the Watlington & District Nursing home an enormous debt of gratitude. She could not have been looked after better.
Reply from Kate Czeczko, Business Development Manager at Watlington & District Residential and Nursing HomeThank you so much for sharing your heartfelt experience. We're truly honoured to have been part of your mother's journey and are deeply grateful for your kind words. It means a great deal to our team to know that we were able to provide her with comfort, dignity, and care during her final year. Your message is a touching reminder of why we do what we do.

My mother was a resident for just over two years. In that time the staff were without exception amazing. They were patient, loving & professional & made a huge difference to my mothers life. The home was always so spotlessly clean & ran very efficiently. There was always plenty going on in terms of
activities & I simply couldn't fault it. I would highly recommend Yarnton Residential & I will miss everyone & thank them fro all that they did for us.

My wife has now entered her fourth year of residence, and I continue to visit her almost every day. Two years have passed since my first review and I now record my continuing admiration of, and gratitude to, the staff providing her with the appropriate care and attention far beyond what I could do
myself. It is no longer possible to tell how aware my wife is of her surroundings, but every day she is hoisted into her wheelchair to spend the day in the company of other people. Her room is always immaculate, her food is individually prepared, and any health changes are promptly discussed with me. Many of the staff clearly love their jobs, and their frequent laughter provides the home with a happy ambience.
