My experience of my father's care home has been overwhelmingly positive, and a great comfort to our whole family. The staff are truly wonderful. Kind, attentive and genuinely caring, always going above and beyond to ensure residents feel valued and supported. There is a fantastic range of activities
on offer, which helps create a lively and engaging environment, and visitors are always made to feel incredibly welcome. One particularly special memory was when the team helped us celebrate my parents' Diamond Wedding Anniversary. They arranged a delicious lunch, complete with a beautiful cake and bubbles. It was made even more meaningful when many members of staff, including the manager, took the time to come in and offer their congratulations. They are also wonderfully welcoming to my young children, who now look forward to visiting-especially if it involves joining Gramps for lunch and maybe playing a game of table tennis! We feel so lucky to have found this home.

I'm writing to express my heartfelt thanks to the staff at Watlington Care Home for the exceptional care they provided to my dad over the last three years. Dad, who had dementia, was treated with dignity and compassion by every member of the team. The facilities were excellent, the cleanliness was top-notch,
and the food was delicious. Thank you to you and the staff for making a difficult time a little easier. Your care and compassion meant the world to us. Thank you!

I visited a few local care homes on behalf of my dad a little while ago and the lady on reception that day took time to show us around even though we hadn't made an appointment. She was very welcoming and told us all that we wanted to know. The manager phoned with a follow up call a few days later which
was thoughtful and informative. When it was time for my dad to move to a home, I had no hesitation in choosing this one. It was a good decision. The staff are professional and kind. The care is first class. My dad has been very happy and felt safe and cared for.
Strongly recommend. There are lots of activities and support is never far away.

Yarnton Residential and Nursing Home

My husband has been in Yarnton over 12 months. I went check the place out without an appointment, it was undergoing major refurbishments and upon being shown around I was impressed. Carers were sitting with residents whilst they were having drinks and biscuits, others had visitors. I made arrangements
to take my husband there. He is very content, treated with respect and dignity, he receives regular medical visits from the doctor if required. His medication is monitored and administered. Carers sit and chat with him, bathe him, shave him. He has a podiatrist visit to look after his feet, and he regularly goes into the hairdresser on site. There are also entertainments available, family days, a home from home. I feel totally secure in the knowledge that he is being looked after. You always think that no one can look after your loved one as well as you. But I know I cannot look after my husband in the way Yarnton Care Home does. When I go I am a wife having time with her husband.
Reply from Jacob Hardie, Design and Marketing Assistant at Yarnton Residential and Nursing HomeThank you for sharing such a heartfelt and thoughtful review. It's wonderful to hear how settled and content your husband is, and that the warm, homely atmosphere and personal touches mean so much to you both. Knowing you can simply enjoy your time together is incredibly special.

Watlington & District Residential and Nursing Home

When 'at home' care for my brother was no longer a viable situation Watlington and District Nursing Home was local for visiting and seemed to tick all the boxes!
Within days it was obviously the right decision as the staff were so well trained, very patient and were capable in any situation. He always
wanted to go home in the early days but he understood that home care had become to stressful for his family and not such a safe environment, structurally! ie doors, stairs, thresholds and various trip hazards! Safety, accessibility and attention to residents, I found, was always paramount. On all my visits he was always of a clean appearance but sadly not all the food suited his taste buds .. but he never starved! As time went by, he needed more attention, and eventually spent more time in bed, but never was he neglected by the staff! When the time came for him to leave this world he was not alone!
Reply from Jacob Hardie, Design and Marketing Assistant at Watlington & District Residential and Nursing HomeThank you for sharing such a thoughtful and heartfelt review. It means so much to know that your brother felt supported and safe, and that our team were able to provide the attentive, compassionate care he needed throughout his time with us. We're truly grateful for your kind words about the dedication of the team and the comfort he experienced, especially towards the end of his journey. Your reflections are deeply appreciated.

Everything you would expect from a first-class care home and then so much more. All the staff go above and beyond, taking care to the next level. Care not only for the residents but also for all the family. I could not have wished for my father to have been in a better place, and all my family were
encompassed in the care and compassion during his final days.

Mum gets excellent care by the staff who are incredibly patient and warm with her. The activities are fantastic - a fabulous mix of things that we would not have the time and energy to provide if she was still living with us. The quality of the facilities (her room, private bathroom, communal areas
and gardens) and the food are really good (more fresh fruit and salads please), but the best thing are the staff. Having made the adjustment, for all of us, of having mum in a home rather than with us, we know that she is settled, happy and occupied and we can balance her care and needs with our own busy lives.

I cannot speak highly enough of the ongoing care my mother receives. She is fully dependent for all cares and is immaculate, clean, calm and cared for at all hours of the day. The staff lead on exceptional care and support us in making sure we have considered every aspect of my mother's needs which
they then go on to provide in an extremely respectful manner. It brings great peace as a relative to know that when you finish visiting the love and care for your relative remains. Thank you.

On Sunday 25/01/26 my daughter and I had a review of my husband's condition and situation with a senior nurse at the Watlington Home. We were entirely satisfied with the way it was conducted and brought up to date with George's treatment and present conditioned. The review was conducted with kindness,
and a real sense of compassion for my husband who was present. We had no complaints to express but asked questions which were thoughtfully answered and reassuring.

I joined a resident for Christmas lunch and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The meal was fine (could've been a little warmer) and quite filling, well cooked. The dining room was spacious, clean, well lit with splendid views of the garden. The staff were polite, attentive, welcoming and efficient.
They were helpful in getting my partner and I coffee tea biscuits after joining our friend in her room. They also helped us to bring in 2 guinea pigs which my partner owns, to the delight of our friend and several other residents who loved stroking and petting (I know you have therapy animal brought in to engage with residents) them!
Reply from Kate Czeczko, Business Development Manager at Yarnton Residential and Nursing HomeThank you for your lovely feedback. We're pleased you enjoyed the Christmas lunch, the dining environment, and the warm, attentive care from our team. Your comments about the food temperature will be shared with our catering staff. We're also delighted that the guinea pigs brought so much joy to your friend and other residents - moments like this truly mean a lot to us. We hope to welcome you again soon.

Dad's been at Wantage nursing home since 2021, the care has always been excellent, the staff show genuine compassion and respect for the residents and we never dread going to visit as it's such a happy environment with lots of engaging activities going on. The team even set up a private room for us

My mother, who suffers from dementia, is resident at Yarnton. The people make the place and this is certainly the case here. Over the many past months we've seen that, without exception, the team at Yarnton have displayed a huge degree of care and empathy (dare I say love, even?) for my mother. This
attitude creates a safe, protective and cheerful atmosphere for her to live in. While she can't be cured, of course, she is at least stress-free and content despite it, which was sadly not the case when she lived with me and my wife. Dementia is 'second childhood' i.e. the victim's mind reverts to a childlike state. Well, she can't lie and it's clear from what she says and how she behaves around the staff that my mother is very content and settled. Full credit for this to the entire nursing and management team. Her improvement has been so good that she's been able to come off ALL of the calming medications that were previously necessary! Thank you so much. Please keep up the great work.
Reply from Kate Czeczko, Business Development Manager at Yarnton Residential and Nursing HomeThank you so much for sharing such a heartfelt review. When I made the very hard decision to place my lovely wife into a nursing home because I could no longer cope with her Alzheimer's, I took great care to ensure that she would be happy and well looked after. I wanted somewhere:- 1)The staff were very caring, friendly and happy in their work. The majority
of staff have worked in this home for many years, which indicates that it is well run from the top down. 2) The building was clean, light and airy and well well-furnished and surrounded by beautiful countryside. Upon looking out of the windows, one can see beautiful tended gardens, open fields and hills. Good entertainment is provided and good well-presented, wholesome food. I definitely made the right choice.
