My mother has been a resident in Trewartha for nearly three years after an emergency admission . Her care has been of a consistently high standard with real attention to detail about what she likes and what most matters to her . The staff group, night and day are a stable team who work together in
a respectful way. My mum's physical care is great and of equal importance the support for her as her Alzheimer's progresses is attentive , kind and ambitious . When I have raised an issue it has always been taken very seriously and attended to. The peace of mind that this gives me is invaluable

The team at this care home looked after my grandmother with exceptional kindness and professionalism right up until the end of her life. Every member of staff showed genuine compassion, took time to get to know her, and treated her with dignity. Communication was always clear, and we were kept fully
informed and supported as a family. The atmosphere was welcoming, the home was clean and comfortable, and my grandmother was always made to feel safe and valued. I'm deeply grateful for the care they provided and would wholeheartedly recommend this home to anyone looking for a place where their loved one will be truly looked after.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Mum had a week of respite care in November 2025. Mum has vascular dementia amd this was her first time in any form of care. We found mum was very well cared for, very well fed, and assisted with all her needs. She was safe and happy. The staff were all caring and professional. From the point of first
contact with Sanctuary, the tour of the home for myself and siblings, and then booking her respite, was all handled smoothly. Her room was very clean and spacious and there was plenty of communal space. The outdoor area was secure and well tended. My siblings visited mum daily and were impressed with the level of care, and were made to feel very welcome. We would be very happy for mum to stay at The Green, Redruth, again. Thank you to all the staff for their kindness and compassion.

My father was at this amazing care home for end of life care. The care, kindness and support he received was second to none. As was the compassion and empathy shown to us as a family.
Every member of staff we met were friendly, from the reception to the kitchen staff and domestic team, to the maintenance
man. The Nurses and carers were all very attentive, caring and compassionate to us all. The attention to detail was lovely to see and meant a lot to us at a difficult time. They approached each interaction with kindness and sometimes humor, which helped us to keep things real.
I read the reviews prior to my father being admitted there, they were right about the standard of care, excellent!
A massive thank you to these wonderful people, who were only in our lives a short time, but will remain in our thoughts forever.

My husband is in care at Blackwood House and I can only say that the staff are amazing in making his time with them as happy and fun as possible. Bernie, who does the activities is amazing and how she comes up with the ideas I do not know. His room is now decorated for Christmas and the staff have put
up during the year phots that he loves of the family. He enjoys the trips out for a meal and the old fashioned, as he says, dinners especially the trifle !
It's warm and bright and the care staff are always cheerful.
Linda and Leanne, are very supportive and communicative and very patient in dealing with all his parcels and forgotten passwords !!
Thank you

Pengover Residential and Nursing Home

As a visitor to my friend and neighbour, who has recently moved into this care home, I have to say that it is an absolute pleasure to go there every week. All the staff who I have met so far have been really lovely, helpful and friendly, and I have been offered a hot drink each time. The whole atmosphere
is warm and happy and just feels as if the residents and staff are one big family. My friend has been welcomed and included in all the activities, which she is enjoying. She also enjoys the general comings and goings of everyday life there. I am unable to rate the rooms, food and drink or value for money categories below as of yet, I don't know, but I have no doubt that they would also rate highly. My friend is so much happier now that she is there.

I'm really happy with the day trips my wife goes on, she goes out a lot and always does nice fun activities. She is well looked after. I'm happy my wife is at Penberthy. It really puts my mind at ease and she is happy there.
