With stunning views overlooking Launceston market town and the surrounding countryside, Cedar Grange is a beautiful care home in a picturesque location.

As well as providing residential, nursing and dementia care, the team provides respite care breaks, which can be booked in advance. These are ideal for family carers who would like to plan a short break themselves, with the peace of mind of knowing their loved one is being cared for.

The bedrooms are spacious and have walk-in wet room showers, with the ground floor rooms having private garden access.

There are wonderful spaces to enjoy activities and relax with loved ones, who are welcome at any time. There’s a café area, overlooking the gardens, welcoming lounges and sunrooms with wall to ceiling windows, which are beautiful spaces to enjoy the surrounding views and spend quality time with visitors.

A hairdresser also visits twice a week for appointments in the home’s salon, as well as offering nail treatments for those who fancy a spot a pampering.

There are so many enriching activities to enjoy, including animal therapy visits, with everything from therapy dogs to donkeys, as well as live entertainment, with singers, dancers and musicians, and arts and crafts.

The gardens are beautiful and feature wheelchair friendly pathways and raised planters, so residents in wheelchairs can also enjoy growing their own produce for the chef to use in the kitchen, giving them such a sense of purpose and achievement.

In the dining rooms residents enjoy delicious home-cooked meals, from roast dinners with all the trimmings to fish and chip Fridays, as well as home baking every day for afternoon tea.

Close to the town centre, the residents can enjoy trips out into the community, keeping those local connections alive. And situated a short five-minute drive from the A30, Cedar Grange has excellent transport links and plenty of parking.

I get on very well with all the staff so I know my husband is very well looked after. The activities for residents is excellent although my husband doesn't join in any, no surprise as he hasn't been very social for quite some time now.

Generally everything is good. I just wish that there would be more attention in certain things. Like check more frequently the state of the rooms, especially bathroom - make sure that there is always loo paper, towels. Many times the room floor is not clean after lunch, sticky floor etc.

My uncle has been here since April 2025. He was very well looked after. This is a lovely, bright welcoming care home. He died on 01/03/2026 having had 4 days end of life care. The last four days of his life were amazing, constant care and checks and dedication by care home staff and district nurses.
It could not be better anywhere. So grateful to Cedar Grange Launceston.
Reply from Jacob Hardie, Design and Marketing Assistant at Cedar Grange Residential and Nursing HomeThank you for sharing such a heartfelt review. It means so much to know your uncle felt so well cared for throughout his time with us, especially in his final days. The team will be truly touched to hear that the compassion, dedication and gentle support they provided brought comfort to him and to your family. We're deeply grateful for your kind words.

When our family visit our lovely mum, we are always grateful for the kindness, respect and love shown to mum by the staff. Mum is very poorly but is always beautifully dressed, smells fresh and looks lovely. I feel confident mum is in a warm and caring place. Her room is kept lovely and I know she is
safe at Cedar Grange. Thank you.

After a positive viewing of CG, I had no reservations about recommending it for a respite stay for mum.
The building itself is modern and very clean, mum's room is spacious and fresh with a pleasant view. With the windows open it feels close to nature which is lovely.
The staff have all been really
approachable and friendly. I would completely agree with other reviewers who have said that the staff are amazing and that nothing seems to be too much trouble for them.
Meals are varied and very well presented, the catering staff work hard to provide good food and happily bring alternatives when mum requests something different.
During my visits both mum and I have been treated with respect and a lot of kindness.
We are now in the process of asking if mum can extend her stay at CG.
Thank you to all CG staff for your caring approach to your work.

I visited my friend yesterday, who has only been living at Cedar Grange for a few weeks. She has settled in so well, thanks to the homely atmosphere and friendly, professional staff. She is better, motivated, moving around more, chatting to other residents and showing care and concern for them. It was
so reassuring to see her engaging with life again after a prolonged stay in the wrong setting and no visiting from her family. You are giving her a new lease of life.
Reply from Jacob Hardie, Design and Marketing Assistant at Cedar Grange Residential and Nursing HomeThank you for sharing such wonderful feedback. Our experience was that this care home was not the right placement for our mum following her stroke, and it was necessary to find more appropriate care . The care followed a very structured routine, with little flexibility for individual needs.
It did not feel person-centred, which caused mum to
acquire unnecessary anxiety around everyday tasks like eating and personal care. The home was also unable to consistently provide meals at the appropriate IDDSI levels, which added to her anxiety around mealtimes. At a time when Mum needed gentleness, kindness, and reassurance, the unyielding schedule did not adapt to her situation. This was very difficult for her, and as a family, it was hard to witness. For someone vulnerable but still very aware, the environment did not provide the comfort or dignity we had hoped for .Mum is now settled in a new home that totally supports her needs. Our experience was difficult, but we hope sharing it helps families make informed choices.

My mother was admitted to Cedar Grange following a severe stroke and required nursing care, a Level 5 IDDSI diet, and full mobility and personal care support. We encountered ongoing issues with her dietary and continence needs. Meals were often unsuitable for her swallowing difficulties, creating safety
risks. Personal care was strictly scheduled, so she sometimes waited an unacceptably long time for assistance, leaving her uncomfortable, distressed, and anxious. Over time, she lost confidence that staff would respond promptly when she needed help.
Two safeguarding concerns were raised - one by us and one by visiting professionals. We also observed low staff morale and a lack of visible leadership. When concerns were raised, responses felt defensive rather than collaborative.
We moved Mum to a different home, where she now receives more appropriate, attentive, and compassionate care.
Reply from Fae Doherty, Senior Marketing Officer at Cedar Grange Residential and Nursing HomeWe are truly sorry to hear that you do not feel your mother's time at Cedar Grange met the standards of care and dignity we are so proud to provide at our home. The level of care given to my Mum is amazing. I cannot express enough what an excellent home Cedar Grange is every member of the staff team are brilliant and patient/ So good with activities to keep my mum and other residents stimulated and kept up to date with various events like I.e. the VE Day celebration
party, or the memorabilia put on display, also the beach area with paddling pool, when pets come in, the vicar to take a little service. The food and cleanliness is very good. The attention to detail is second to none.

My mother is treated very well, the staff are very caring and treat her with the dignity and respect she deserves in her late nineties. Mum is very particular regarding her food, they always ensure she is given choices and do their best to ensure she eats well, she has even put on a small amount of
weight. Mum is very happy with the way she is treated and always says how caring the staff are and how happy she is at Cedar Grange.
Mum does not mix much with the other residents so I cannot comment on the activities but know that the staff try and encourage social activities.

I have no complaints at all mum has been cared for beautifully with dignity and also with love and fun too
They have kept her active and safe. They provide lovely home cooked meals that she enjoys (and she's fussy!). They are also incredibly welcoming and helpful to myself and my stepfather helping
up with the situation and finding time for us too
Nothing is too much trouble. Her rooms lovely and kept very clean - as is mum!
We are very happy indeed with the service, especially coming from another home - couldn't be more different an experience

We had a varied experience, at times we were very disappointed with care provided, lack of dignity and care. Numerous times we had to ask for assistance to support our loved one with basic care. Some staff were excellent and other staff were below what we expected.
Support from registered nurses was
sporadic and at end of life care was very frustrating and upsetting. Night care staff were excellent, caring and spent time with out loved one and family.
Reply from Kate Yates, Communications and Content Specialist at Cedar Grange Residential and Nursing HomeThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.461)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.461) out of 10 for Cedar Grange Residential and Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 26 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.461 for Cedar Grange Residential and Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (199 Excellents x 5) + (69 Goods x 4) + (17 Satisfactorys x 3) + (15 Poors x 2) + (4 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 304 Ratings = 4.461
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Cedar Grange Residential and Nursing Home is based on 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 23 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
