Basingfield Court has very kind and friendly staff. The hard decision for my husband to go into care has been easier because of the kindness of the staff, they even show concern for me!
Nice atmosphere in Basingfield Court is nice (doesn't smell like a care home).
The food is so good, and the variety
and quality are excellent, with concern for personal preference.
Reply from Kate Czeczko, Business Development Manager at Basingfield Court Residential Care HomeThank you for your kind words. We're so pleased our team's care and the welcoming atmosphere at Basingfield Court have made this transition easier for you and your husband. Your feedback means a lot to us.

I come to see my friend every 2 or 3 weeks. She always seems very happy. She, of course, remembers very little - although sometimes surprises me by remembering names.

The staff at this care home have been absolutely wonderful with both my mum and dad. They helped them settle in quickly, and their kindness, approachability and professionalism give our family real peace of mind.

The home itself is always clean, tidy and well looked after, creating a warm, welcoming

atmosphere every time we visit. It feels safe and very well managed, which is so important with both of our parents living there.

There are plenty of activities on offer, and the team do a great job of keeping residents engaged and involved in daily life.

Overall, it's a very safe, caring environment, and we feel incredibly fortunate that both our mum and dad are being looked after so well here.

We have had a very good experience of Basingfield Court since Mum moved in. It has a very homely feel, and is very clean and well maintained. Mum enjoys the the food and the daily activities. She is eating and drinking much better since moving here.
We particularly like how the staff support each
other in the work that they do and in keeping each other cheerful. This upbeat attitude and environment rubs off on the residents and means that Basingfield Court is a very positive place.

My mum entered Basingfield Court Care Home with symptoms of Dementia & falls. From her arrival she has been welcomed and treated with the utmost respect and kindness from all the staff across the home. To see her smiling from ear to ear every time we visit is heartwarming as we initially felt guilt
at placing her there but I can honestly say she is happier there than she was living with us. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend Basingfield to any potential residents. Thankyou all for giving us peace of mind

My mother was a resident for 6 1/2 years. Especially in the last 2 or 3 years her care has been good. She was treated as an individual and given careful care as she weakened and eventually became bedridden. Activities were varied and imaginative and although she did not participate in many, she enjoyed
most of them.

Observations show all staff caring. All staff speak calmly and friendly to all residents even under pressure from a difficult resident.
Staff are constantly observing if resident needs anything. They are compassionate and patient. Feeding those who need help to eat. I have never heard a harsh voice
but softly talking. The manager is very good in listening about how things are going, she has the attributes of a manager interested in welfare of staff and residents.

I need 2 carers to assist me with bathroom toilet etc. a long wait for this service. Bad language from carer on night shift, have complained no different at all. Up to 25 minutes wait for bell to be answered at times. Had to wait up to 30 minutes for pain killers during the night shift.
Reply from Kate Yates, Communications and Content Specialist at Basingfield Court Residential Care HomeThank you for your feedback. Were sorry to hear about your concerns. We strive to provide timely and compassionate care, and we will review our response times to ensure improvements. Our team pride themselves on their professional communication. We can only apologise that one member of staff has not upheld this, and we will address this matter with them directly. Regarding your pain medication, our team follows strict guidelines to ensure our residents safety, which sometimes means a waiting period between doses of certain medications. However, we understand how important this is and will continue working with you to support your comfort. Please feel free to reach out to us directly so we can discuss your concerns further. The home manager is extremely proactive when it comes to seeking feedback, and her door is always open.

My mother came to Basingfield Court for 6 weeks of respite after a period in hospital. The difference between when she came in to when she left was amazing! She was brighter, more alert and more able and independent both physically and mentally. The home has a nice atmosphere with incredibly caring

Ashley House was recommended by a friend who had rated it highly in connection with the care of her mother. I have experience of a number of places with both parents who required care in their latter years and Ashley House was head and shoulders above the rest. It may not be an elegant building set
in beautiful grounds, but the quality of care is outstanding. The purpose-built nature of the building makes it feel far less like an institution or hotel and more like a home. It is homely and friendly and the staff, without exception were all kind, caring and attentive. Not once in the whole year and a half my mother was there, did I have any cause for concern in any regard. Ashley House has a happy atmosphere, there appears to be a very low turnover of staff and it is clean and well-maintained. My only comment would be the garden could be improved on a bit but that may well have already been addressed. I have no hesitation at all in recommending Ashley House.

We appreciate your suggestion regarding the garden and will continue working to enhance it. Thank you again for your thoughtful words and support.

On viewing the home I was 100% impressed, was so friendly, caring and very family orientated. Once Mum moved in much against her will as never wanted to go into a home she very quickly decided she wanted to stay even tho initially it was for respite. The relief of knowing she's safe 24/7 is amazing.
The staff are totally amazing, not met a member who is not 110% committed to making the lives of the residents like home.

Basingfield Court Residential Care Home is a very ideal place for my mum-in-law. The staff are very warm and welcoming. Everyone is very friendly and my mum-in-law was very comfortable with everyone in her three-week stay when she was there. She cannot speak English so she was given a sign chart to
be able to express herself which was very good. I will definitely send her again for her respite. A big thank you to all the staff members for taking care of her.

My husband, who has Lewy body dementia, recently spent two weeks respite care at Basingfield Court Residential Care Home. The manager is very caring and professional and the staff were friendly and helpful. My husband had a lovely room on the ground floor which gave him easy access to the communal/dining
room. The staff ensured that he attended the entertainment and was not left on his own in his room. I was happy with his care and have booked another respite stay later in the year. I would rate the home good but with a couple of improvements, it could be excellent. 1) Offer male residents a daily shave. 2) Implement a process to monitor residents' fluid intake. 3) Ensure a member of staff is in the dining room during mealtimes, encouraging to eat more.
