Aashna House has been my mother's home for well over a decade, and she recently celebrated her 100th birthday there. I cannot speak highly enough of Aashna House, its wonderful manager Smita, and her fantastic staff.
The care my mother has received has been absolutely excellent. From the very beginning,
Aashna House has felt like a family to us rather than simply a residential care home. Over the years, the level of care, compassion and professionalism has remained excellent, which has meant a great deal to our family. The food is delicious, the standards are consistently high, and the staff are always kind, respectful and caring. They do everything in their power to ensure that residents feel both welcome and safe.
They also made her 100th birthday a truly special occasion, which was greatly appreciated by all of us.
I wholeheartedly recommend Aashna House to anyone looking for the very best care for a parent or loved one.
Reply from Kate Czeczko, Business Development Manager at Aashna House Residential Care HomeThank you so much for your thoughtful and heartfelt review. We are truly honoured to have been part of your mother's journey and to have celebrated such a wonderful milestone with her. Your kind words mean a great deal to Smita and the entire team, and we're delighted that Aashna House feels like a home to your family.

My wife was a resident at Riverlee for just over 2 years. She died there on 23rd March 2026. As a daily visitor to her at the home I got to know the place well and many of the staff too. I formed lovely friendships with quite a few of them. My wife's deterioration was quite marked and sad to witness,
but the care, skill and warmth of the staff was so reassuring and I really learnt to respect them for the job they did. As she came closer to death, these charactoristics came more to the fore, as they treated her with gentle compassion and skill. The non-carers were as impressive as well with their interactions.
Reply from Jacob Hardie, Design and Marketing Assistant at Riverlee Residential and Nursing HomeThank you for sharing such a moving tribute. We're deeply honoured to hear how supported you felt during such a difficult time and that the compassion, skill and warmth of the whole team brought reassurance and comfort. Your words mean a great deal to everyone involved.

We researched, visited and interviewed several nursing homes. We looked at Indian nursing homes (as my mother is Indian) but our most important criteria was the care she was receiving, over and above any environmental or cultural considerations. We chose Rowanweald because it was brimming with care
workers and nurses - they filled the corridors and attended the residents with such regularity, integrity and devotion. Sometimes three nurses attended my mother's needs, especially close to end-of-life. They were extremely kind and sensitive - to her as well as to us. Towards the end of my mother's life we had a vigil of family arriving at her bedside and it makes me teary thinking about how they cared for us, too. They took every opportunity for kindness, and in the words of Mark Twain, "Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see." She was almost deaf and blind - so you can only imagine our gratitude.
Reply from Jacob Hardie, Design and Marketing Assistant at Rowanweald Residential and Nursing HomeThank you for sharing such moving feedback. It means so much to hear that the compassion, presence and sensitivity of our team supported your mother and your family, especially at such a precious time. Knowing she was cared for with dignity and kindness, and that you felt held and supported, is something we truly value.

We recently had the wonderful opportunity to celebrate my aunt's 100th birthday at Aashna House Residential Care Home, where she has been happily living for over 10 years. The staff consistently provide exceptional care, and it is clear that residents are treated with genuine warmth, dignity, and respect.
A
special mention must go to the manager, Smitaben, whose leadership truly makes a difference. She is incredibly dedicated, attentive, and compassionate, and it shows in the high standard of care and the positive atmosphere throughout the home.
For my aunt's milestone birthday, the team went above and beyond. The main room was beautifully decorated, creating a warm and festive environment, and all residents were invited to join the celebration. It was a joyful and memorable occasion, reflecting the sense of community the home fosters.
We are deeply grateful for the care and kindness shown to our aunt over the years. We would recommend Aashna House Residential Care Home unres

Outstanding management team that dealt immediately with any concerns, 7,days a week via my messaging app.
Nurses were "angels" kind, caring, compassionate, friendly and happy to share advice, chat and "hold my hand" and guide me thru the unknown of my mother's,deteriorating dementia which then, kead
to palliative care.
They were also interested in my own, welfare and allowed my,dog to accompany me. There are no suitable words to describe, their amazing exemplary care. They took care not just of my mother but also emotional well being of our immediately family. They initiated making chapatis to accommodate the Asian food my mother liked. I was very sad when as a family we realised that we had to put her in a nursing,home...having heard unfavourable comments from the press about nursing homes,we were initially worried. When we got to know the management, staff it couldn't have been, more wonderful. I have absolutely have no hesitation in recommending this home.

Overall experience is very good. Food, hygeine''and cleanliness are excellent. There are good range of activities available.
The majority of the staff are very caring and responsible, however information is not always passed on regarding patients at the shift changeover.
A few staff could benefit from
some extra training regarding awareness of individuality and differences between residents and the handling thereof.

I cannot speak highly enough of Aashna House Care Home and the incredible team who care for my mother.
My mother has been a resident at Aashna House for the past five years, was recently hospitalised due to a fracture in her femur. While the hospital was keen to discharge her and explore alternative
placements with higher staffing ratios, little consideration was given to her emotional wellbeing or her strong wish to return to the place she knows as home.
Aashna House initially had understandable concerns, as my mother required additional support. However, rather than simply declining, the Care Home Manager worked closely with me to find solutions. She was supportive, compassionate, and genuinely understanding of my mother's needs and wishes.
This care home truly is wonderful. The staff are caring, professional, and deeply committed to their residents. They understand the importance of dignity, familiarity, and emotional wellbeing, especially for those living with dementia.

The Manse care home is a kind calm environment which has a real family feel.
The rooms and communal areas are kept spotlessly clean.
The staff are so attentive and kind to the residents, any issues are dealt with promptly ( illness/conditions/ personal care needs).
Residents are offered various activities,
games music, arts and crafts and a birthday party is held for each resident.
I cannot recommend this home highly enough.

My mum moved into Shaftesbury Court earlier this year and I couldn't be happier with the care she's receiving. I've witnessed the compassion and empathy shown by the staff as mum settled in and it's a great reassurance to know she is in safe hands.
Over the last few years, mum became quite isolated,
living alone and struggling with dementia. Shaftesbury Court has given her the chance to socialise with others, take part in regular activities and maintain some independence. She has her own room with a small kitchen and was able to bring many of her possessions from home.
There are good days and bad days of course but the staff (and the other residents) are all so supportive that mum is doing better than she has for a long time. Really thankful to everyone at Shaftesbury Court for taking care of her.

I only have praise for this home!!! My mum-in- law (Marie) has moderate vascular dementia and the care she is receiving here is absolutely wonderful. The staff are just brilliant with her, and she is looking far better than she has ever been since her diagnosis. Her room is light and airy with a lovely
balcony overlooking the garden. The building itself and the communal facilities are well-kept, clean and bright. The staff really care about her welfare and go above and beyond. I am so impressed at how friendly and patient they are and they have really helped ease my and my husband's worries about mum's welfare. They are also proactive in terms of suggesting things that could be improved for my mum's care - and that counts for a lot!! They also have really good safekeeping procedures in place which has further contributed to easing our worries about mum's welfare. Thank you very much to Olu and every single member of the team for all the help with mum, brilliant job!
