As I think of what to write in my review, an overwhelming sense of gratitude washes over me. My mother was very well looked after, and the staff were thoughtful and kind. As I waved goodbye to my mum day by day, I knew she was in good hands. One very memorable event was my mothers birthday, the staff had made a cake for her, with one candle on it, they sang happy birthday mum clapped and smiled. next day she went to Heaven! Thank you

This review is based upon 9* single visits @ monthly visits. At all times she was asleep or incoherent. She was 24/7 with a nurse due to the need for a form of restraint. To all intents and purposes she appeared to be well looked after. * She was 40 miles from my home. Prior to being here she was in a home @ Plymouth (25 miles). No attempt was made to move her nearer home.

All the staff were lovely, and made Mum welcome and help her settle in, she really enjoyed the Dancing Days

Staff at Greenslades were very kind & patient with Steve & adapted to his needs as his health deteriorated. They were extremely kind to me also.

Mum never wanted to go to a care home, but after a few days she was happy with it and after time she called it home. We found every one wonderful, all the carers are so friendly & kind and the love & care they showed to mum was amazing. Everyone from management to nurses & cleaner's & kitchen staff they could not do enough for her & the entertainment that was layed on for everyone was so good there is so much love in there for the residents and so very kind to the relitives. There all amazing people xx

This home is second to none I was absolutly blown away by the level of care my mother received during her short stay here. The manager is amazing nothing is too much trouble for her she was very welcoming. The staff in this home actually care for there guests it's plain to see and most importantly my mother actual thrived in there and thats down to the loving athmosphere in the home. 10 out of 10 for me.

My partner has been in Fernihurst Nursing Home for eighteen months and the care he has received is 2nd to none. That's why I have ticked every rating as excellent. I can find no fault at all. The staff listen to any worries I have, and sort things out, I would recommend anyone looking for nursing care to try Fernihurst

The staff are a joy to the residents I feel a code should be fitted to the life to stop patients wandering up and down the levels, which could endanger them & other residents.

It is 3½ years since my wife became a resident at Fernihurst, and as a family we feel blessed she is in their care, despite her developing Alzheimer's condition she is content and happy, being so well looked after by such a marvelous team who clearly love what they do. They are also concerned for my well-being which is so important as our family lives abroad, that emotional support is invaluable. Thank you all at Fernihurst!

Washing & dressing in the morning appears to be getting later. Last week there was a day when she wasn't ready until 10.50 this is not really acceptable. It would be nice to see a menu a week in advance so we could help choose meals or bring an alternative in.

A home that cares well for people with very complex needs. The managers and staff are caring, open and responsive - especially when there are issues and are keen to see how they can improve care for each person. They celebrate occasions and make a great birthday cake - my relative enjoyed it very much as well as the carers singing happy birthday and a birthday card. This makes the day feel more special - despite all the things they're living with - and they enjoyed the fuss. These touches mean a lot alongside the clinical care. Thank you!

I couldn't single out a carer, its a team effort, they are the best.

I have always found the staff to be attentive, kind and good humoured. I always leave feeling that she is in safe hands and well supported. The home is always clean and tidy, and the staff are always on hand if I have any questions.

Our dad has been here for 8 weeks, and the care has been excellent throughout. All the carers have been kind, caring and attentive, making him feel comfortable and well looked after every day. The food has been excellent. Dad enjoyed it so much that he has put on two stone while being here. The nursing staff have been exceptional, patient and compassionate. We are very grateful to the whole team.

My mother in law entered the home in a confused and emotional state. She was treated with care and respect from the beginning. Eventually, she gained weight as she really liked the food, regained her health, and became more mobile. Moved from nursing care side to residential side, joined social groups (knit and natter) and made a few close friends. She also made good relationships with the staff. She sits out in the garden on sunny days and loves afternoon tea with cake! Her medical needs are met promptly and with care.

My wife was a resident for 2 years in dementia care. During her time she was always treated with kindness and respect. The staff were consistent in their care which was without exception excellent. From the front desk, to the management, from nursing and cleaning staff we were always treated with consideration and friendliness. We will always be grateful to Greenslades and all the staff - a heartfelt thank you from all the family.

We are so appreciative of the excellent care Dad receives at Ivydene. All staff members are supportive, caring, friendly and knowledgable in their area of expertise and they have all formed positive relationships with him. Dad was welcomed and made to feel part of the Ivydene community as soon as he moved in (September 2025). The staff, facilities, food and activities are excellent. As a family we are kept informed of his wellbeing and any medical issues. We are completely at ease with the quality of care and lifestyle he is experiencing and receiving, knowing he is being safely looked after.

I come to this care home regularly with my son to participate in activities with the residents - by doing this we've built meaningful relationships and look forward to seeing one another. We have been in a few different lounges, all of which are clean and accessible. All staff even when passing through ie carers, chefs or management engage with all the residents. With previously working in care for many years I can see residents attended to when asked (toileting & food & drink options) as well as good moving & handling.

The care home has greatly improved since Eve went into care there.
