All the staff are friendly & helpful. The smell is pretty strong at times upstairs. The food needs to be catered for elderly people - not pizza and beans or salads, most can't eat it, old-fashioned cottage pie, onions, fish pie, etc, 1970's food and cups of tea and coffee throughout the day whenever
they want one. Let people know who's working the shift, and give a menu on a regular basis to those who can't get downstairs; also, sometimes they just want a little bit of company.

Mum has been a resident at Furzehatt for 16 months. From the day mum arrived, she & my brother & sister have been treated with the utmost respect. Mum is very happy and always speaks highly of all the staff. In her words, "can't fault the place". As a family, we are extremely grateful for the care provided
to Mum. Nothing is too much trouble. Mum is now safe and well nourished, and that means a lot to me. The staff are great and all of them should be recognised for their fantastic work. Thank you.

I continue to be impressed with the care received by Mum. Her mood fluctuates, but she is always treated kindly and respectfully.
The whole team at Furzehatt, show such care and concern.
I must especially mention the cleaning team, the room is kept clean. Any spills on the carpet are dealt with
quickly. Due to poor eyesight and lack of awareness, this can happen a lot. Crusts that are sprinkled "to feed the cat and birds" are vacuumed up and dealt with , with great compassion.
Keep going team, you are brilliant.

My husband was at Ivydene Residential and Nursing Home from October 2024 until July 2025. The care he received there was exceptional and I and my family are so grateful to them all. Everyone was always so friendly and caring and I always felt reassured that the home would ring me if there was any cause
for concern. From the nurses, carers, cleaners and receptionists my husband certainly got the best care.

I cannot fault the care provided to my dad for the few weeks that he was at Greenslades. Nursing and care staff were very friendly, helpful and cheerful which really helped when visiting dad. Everything was handled professionally and sensitively. Thank you to everyone at Greenslades.
One bit of feedback
for Sanctuary Care is that the process to access the building proved difficult on occasions as the reception is not staffed at evenings and weekends. This meant relying on the already busy care staff to allow access when they get the chance. Waiting to get in with elderly or disabled relatives is not ideal. A minor point and no reflection at all on the great team that looked after dad.

My mother is being well looked after by caring staff. She is a somewhat challenging resident; she has been dealt with in a professional and caring manner, putting on weight and allowing them to help her with tasks. The nurse in charge on the floor is very good, and keeps me updated.

Since my mum moving to Greenslades from a care home in Exeter in April things have been very good after a tricky start. The staff are very helpful and I feel my mum is happy. My only gripe would be that when my mum is in the living room she is seated into a proper chair with her legs slightly elevated.

I love living at this home. Going into my second year now and feel so happy and safe. I have all my needs met. The home is warm and everyone is my family. I have made lots of friends. I join in with all the activities and there are so many. If I want to sit in my room then I can. I visit others in their
rooms and they come to mine to watch a film, eat snacks and drink some wine. The whole team are wonderful. This week a staff member helped me send a bunch of flowers to my niece for her birthday. They care about the little things. They have helped me get physio and I am getting a boot to help me walk again. I cannot thank them enough. We are treated as adults, cared for as adults, allowed to take risks and also kept safe. The food is nice, they treat my things with respect and are discreet when caring for me. Everyone is always so happy. I am always happy. Every morning I get woken with a smile and much needed coffee.

My mum's time at Furzehatt care home, was like home from home with the added bonus of beautiful cooked meals 3 times a day, daily activities, weekly church services and much more.
That is before I begin on to the care and nursing team at Furzehatt, especially in the last two weeks before our mum passed
away. Mum was treated with the upmost dignity and compassion and the staff go up and beyond their job description in the care they all showed to our mum. This also went to us the family they looked after us so well too. If anyone is looking for care for a loved one, I couldn't recommend Furzehatt more. The cleaning team kept all the rooms immaculate along with all the communal lounges and dining rooms.
Thank you doesn't express enough what we feel for The Furzehatt team, from Management to all the carers, nurses, housekeeping, chefs and the wonderful reception team that always make you feel so welcome. Keep up the good work and be proud of your team.

Furzehatt is above all a Care Home. The team of staff from cleaners to admin, carers and management are outstanding in the level of care provided. Mum is currently end of life and the team have been amazing in terms of respect, kindness, support, caring - even coming in on days off and holidays to visit
Mum and support the family. Mum has previously commented on the kindness of the staff and we couldn't have asked for more during Mum's final months.

Ivydene cared for my late mother for the last few years of her life. She had been in three care homes prior to Ivydene and in my opinion Ivydene was by far the best. I know my mother's needs were varied, due in part to her dementia and difficulties with speech and communication, requiring complete care
from the staff, who were patient, kind and friendly, both to her and our family. In the last weeks of her life, in particular a young man called Phil was really caring. A cleaner, present in the final weeks was lovely, she would always speak to us, and our mother even though she knew she was unlikely to receive a response. There was another member of staff that stood out. However all the staff were kind and friendly. My mother had a clean, bright and airy room that had a lovely outlook over the pretty garden, it was sad that she wasn't able to appreciate it. It was comforting knowing that the home is in good condition and well managed.

My mother-in-law had been in Fernihurst for 18 months before she sadly passed away. The first 12 months were a joy to visit her. The staff were friendly, and laughter could be heard within the home, and there were endless activities. The home appeared to be all for the residents, sadly, during the last
six months, the level of this seemed to disappear, and the home became more about Sanctuary Care and not for the residents. There was hardly any laughter heard, and hardly any interaction with the residents. I cannot fault the care staff or Nurses for the care and love they gave to my loved one. Sadly, my loved one passed away. The nurses and carers were amazing and sent their condolences.
