Care at Ividene is generally good although weekend care can be very hit + miss.

Washing & dressing in the morning appears to be getting later. Last week there was a day when she wasn't ready until 10.50 this is not really acceptable. It would be nice to see a menu a week in advance so we could help choose meals or bring an alternative in.

Our dad has been here for 8 weeks, and the care has been excellent throughout. All the carers have been kind, caring and attentive, making him feel comfortable and well looked after every day. The food has been excellent. Dad enjoyed it so much that he has put on two stone while being here. The nursing staff have been exceptional, patient and compassionate. We are very grateful to the whole team.

We are so appreciative of the excellent care Dad receives at Ivydene. All staff members are supportive, caring, friendly and knowledgable in their area of expertise and they have all formed positive relationships with him. Dad was welcomed and made to feel part of the Ivydene community as soon as he moved in (September 2025). The staff, facilities, food and activities are excellent. As a family we are kept informed of his wellbeing and any medical issues. We are completely at ease with the quality of care and lifestyle he is experiencing and receiving, knowing he is being safely looked after.

My mother moved into Ivydene in Sept 2025. As a whole family we have been nothing other than been blown away by the carer and support we all have received. Everyone we have come across have such genuine care for the residents and their families going that extra mile and giving 110% at all times. The entertainment, outings, food and general enthusiasm is amazing. Mum's room is beautifully clean and every need is met. Mum has a new lease of life and as a family we do too! We cannot thank enough.

My late husband was a resident in Ivydene for over 2 years. The care both of us received was second to none. He was treated with kindness, respect and with the utmost care. For me the staff became a second family. I miss the Home and staff. It is a wonderful home and nobody should have ant reservations about placing a loved one there.

My husband was at Ivydene Residential and Nursing Home from October 2024 until July 2025. The care he received there was exceptional and I and my family are so grateful to them all. Everyone was always so friendly and caring and I always felt reassured that the home would ring me if there was any cause for concern. From the nurses, carers, cleaners and receptionists my husband certainly got the best care.

Ivydene cared for my late mother for the last few years of her life. She had been in three care homes prior to Ivydene and in my opinion Ivydene was by far the best. I know my mother's needs were varied, due in part to her dementia and difficulties with speech and communication, requiring complete care from the staff, who were patient, kind and friendly, both to her and our family. In the last weeks of her life, in particular a young man called Phil was really caring. A cleaner, present in the final weeks was lovely, she would always speak to us, and our mother even though she knew she was unlikely to receive a response. There was another member of staff that stood out. However all the staff were kind and friendly. My mother had a clean, bright and airy room that had a lovely outlook over the pretty garden, it was sad that she wasn't able to appreciate it. It was comforting knowing that the home is in good condition and well managed.

Well, what can I say. If I could award 10 stars to Ivydene, that too would be too few. My mum is looked after so well by all the staff, from the cleaners to the management. Nothing is ever too much trouble and they know all the residents names and the family's too. It feels so much more like a large family atmosphere than just a care home. The residents are treated like humans and are encouraged, not forced, to join in with daily activities. There's always something going on, from a quiz, to a good old sing song. From personal experience my mum is always washed, hair done, dressed smartly even if she wants to be in her room all day. The food she is served always looks delicious and a good range is always on offer. Plus the dining room is clean with linen table cloths and flowers, such a nice touch. They have certainly managed to help my mum to be the best she can be with her dementia.

Thank you.

My father has been a resident at Ivydene since March 2023. He has a rare motor neurological condition which means he is unable to do anything physically for himself but has full capacity to make his own decisions and voice his concerns/complaints! Being in a home is not what my extremely active football, cricket, squash playing dad had planned for his later years!

However, he is very happy at Ivydene! He has an exceptional relationship with all the staff, they treat him with the utmost respect and dignity. He really enjoys the food, especially his daily full English breakfast.

My brother has been under terminal palliative care in Ivydene since April. I have visited monthly and called weekly.
Ivydene is a new purpose-built facility, light, bright and cheerful. Its staff are marvellous - caring, helpful and endlessly positive. Nothing is too much trouble, and they are sympathetic and flexible in response to any request.
My brother doesn't rate the food, but this has more to do with his fussiness than any major deficiency.

Overall, I am delighted with the care he is receiving at Ivydene.
