I have been trying to get my mum the care she deserves through Lancs Council for a while now.
I was informed on 20th March that Sally (Care Home Manager) was going around to assess mum to see if she was as the 'gold star
condition for dementia' as stated by the doctors! I am glad she did.
She is
now been in Guy's Court care home for a week now and the difference is amazing.
From lying in bed all day to being up dressed, eating meals with the other residents and sitting in the garden. It's like having mum back all over again.
Everyone has been so helpful, supportive and above all caring about mum.
I couldn't have ask for more.
I would like to thank Sally for getting mum into Guy's Court, Emma for taking the time to explain things and the support on offer and Charlie for being a support to mum when we were there.
As for the rest of the staff (sorry, but I cannot remember everyone's name, but I will), a great big thank you to you all. Keep up the good work.

We are very pleased with all of the care and attention given by everyone at Guy's Court. Absolutely everyone has made us very welcome and are always ready to answer any questions that we may have. There has been a hugely positive difference in my partner's mum's health and wellbeing since arriving at
Guy's Court over the last few days. Alongside their gentle and appropriate encouragement, she has even been able to sit outside in the garden with us.
We have total peace of mind that this is the right place, the right care, the right people and the right nurturing, caring environment for our very important person.
Reply from Jacob Hardie, Design and Marketing Assistant at Guy's Court Residential Care HomeThank you for your kind feedback. We're delighted to hear your partner's mum has settled so well and that you feel reassured by the care and support provided. It's wonderful to know she's already enjoying time in the garden.

Overall I am happy with the care my mother receives from Peel Gardens. She has been in the home for nearly 6 years. Staff are always helpful, caring and informative. They treat my mother with the dignity she deserves. Although I have nothing to compare this home with because she was admitted during
covid. I can only go off how my mother appears. She was in a poor state physically and mentally upon arrival. She now appears content and generally looks well cared for. If I have any issues they are dealt with appropriately.
Reply from Jacob Hardie, Design and Marketing Assistant at Peel Gardens Residential and Nursing HomeThank you for sharing such thoughtful feedback. We're pleased to hear your mother feels content and well cared for, and that our team continue to treat her with the dignity she deserves. Mum has dementia and has been a resident at Guy's Court for over 18 months now. She has a nice room on the front with ensuite toilet. We are very happy with her care and are so pleased to have found this care home. Her care is excellent, carers take the time to get to know each resident, their needs
and likes/dislikes. The carers and management are like good friends to her now. Putting the care of a loved one in someone elses hands can be very difficult but I have never regretted it and have always felt confident that Mum is well cared for at Guy's. They always bring her back to good health when she has been ill. The food is very good, in fact Mum has put weight on now that she is eating properly. The lounge, dining room and conservatory are really pleasant, the home overall is very clean too. There are activities, outings and entertainment. As family we are consulted as needed and when visiting we are always made to feel welcome. I would not hesitate in recommending Guy's to anyone.

My grandad has been in the care home after moving from his previous one, since moving to this home my grandad is interacting a lot more with other residents and staff. The main bonus is he is now managing to eat more food, I cannot thank the staff enough for taking the time to care for him, ensuring
and encouraging him to eat and drink. My grandad was poorly one day which I raised with staff and the staff listened instantly and got a doctor to him which helped his care and prevented his illness getting worse. The staff are always polite, friendly and welcoming with the residents and family that go into the home. They will go above and beyond to help with anything my grandad needs to make him feel comfortable and happy.
The activity lady Caroline is amazing with the residents, always tries to come up with new tasks what they can do for each season, it's lovely to see when all the residents get involved.

My husband has been in Guy's Court for about 6 months. He has settled very well and the staff were supportive during his transition to the home. They listened to our concerns and needs for him, and adapted accordingly. The staff are caring and provide information on his wellbeing regularly, and the
home has a stable staff, we see the same carers often, and they show a genuine interest. His room is always very clean and tidy. They take good care of his dietary needs, with a good and varied menu, and ensure he eats his meals. The home has entertainment regularly that he enjoys. Thank you.

Unfortunately I had a bad experience with this care home and I feel Mum did not receive the care and support she needed as her Dementia worsened. There was many incidents and accidents that resulted Mum in having various head injuries.
There was also an incident where Mum was secluded in the conservatory,
unsupervised and left, even though she is a high falls risk. She had spilt a cup of coffee on herself, when raised this was dismissed by staff who left her in wet clothes.
Staff had many altercations with family, some where unprofessional, hostile and rude and made comments like 'do you think your Mum deserves preferential treatment over others' and told me my mum was tortured and tormented every day by the amount of steps she walks. The home had lost her glasses and wedding rings which where never found. One to one was funded and never implemented. Incredibly poor communication and POA was not included in any discissions made in care and with medication. Felt like Mum was a problem

My grandmother has been a resident at Guy's Court for almost three years, and her time there has been truly happy and fulfilling. The care she receives has always been exceptional, and I have complete trust in the team. When her health began to decline unexpectedly, I was kept fully informed day and
night by the kind, attentive staff-something I especially valued while working away from home. When she experienced a sudden medical emergency during the night, the response from the night team was exemplary. Sam, in particular, went above and beyond. Her calmness under pressure, clear communication, and decisive action made an enormous difference. It was clear that her dedication to the residents' wellbeing comes from the heart. Thanks to her professionalism and compassion, my grandmother received immediate, thoughtful care, and I felt supported every step of the way.

Dad only moved into Peel Gardens 3 weeks ago after a 7-week stay in hospital. food excellent. Thank you all.

Mum has been at Guys Court for around 4 years now and we've always been really happy with the level of care provided. Recently mum came back to the home after a spell in hospital and the care home staff have looked after her very well indeed-nursing her back to better health after her hospital stay
and have kept me informed of the situation and how mum is doing. The staff seem to really get to know and genuinely care about the residents and positive relationships are formed. The staff also get to know the immediate family too-kindly offering us cups of tea! I like that the home offers various activities for the residents and organises various special events throughout the year. They even arranged a special celebration for my mum and dads 50th Wedding Anniversary! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Guys Court to anyone.

My uncle came to Peel Gardens reluctantly as he did not wish to leave his home of almost 50 years or so. He became poorly and had to be admitted to hospital a number of times. Speaking to him whilst he was in hospital he told me "I just want to go home" and then he told me "I want to go to my new care
home" which filled me with joy. He really likes the staff members there. This morning when I saw him he looked like a new person one of your lovely support staff had given him a shave and he was really pleased with it.

Peel Gardens is always clean and maintained to a high standard. Staff are always friendly and attentive to all residents. Mum's dementia is declining and often sleepy when I visit, but I believe is much more active in the evenings. If she runs out of anything, they call and ask for it. Overall as a
