Our dad came to the park for only a short few days but within that time space we as a family could not of wished for any better care.the staff go above and beyond and are so caring and compassionate...nothing was ever too much trouble.his room along with the home was spotless .dad was always being checked on and always looked immaculate which was important to dad and us as a family.staff would always come and check on us too and we was able to use the kitchenette to make ourselves refreshments.I would like to say a special heartfelt thanks to the night staff who where on shift on the night passed away they where outstanding, compassionate, supportive and very professional.special thanks go to clifford who especially took the time to spend with us a family at what was a very emotional and difficult time for us as a family ..what an amazing team you all are you should be very proud of yourselves each and everyone of you.special thanks also to juliette and Violet for all did for us all

Mum was very well cared for at The Park. She arrived for end of life care nearly three weeks ago and sadly passed away yesterday but the staff were so kind, sensitive and thoughtful, I felt well looked after as well as mum! Everyone seemed lovely, kind and friendly, thank you!

I could not recommend this care home more. My mother has dementia and we have lived for many years of caring for her, but when the time came for her to move into a care home, we could not have picked a better place. The staff really care about the residents and know exactly how to bring the best out of them. I have not seen my mum as settled and happy for a long time. Of course she has bad days, but the staff know exactly what to do and they never pass the burden onto us. We visit most days and everyone I have met has been wonderful. I leave feeling happy that my mum is being well looked after and is happy. They have her doing crafts, playing games and even took her out for fish and chips (one on one). These things calm her down and make her happy. We can now do the nice things with mum, knowing she is being so well looked after. Furthermore, she has a beautiful room, with all her things around her, and everywhere is always spotlessly clean. I cannot fault the place at all.

My mum has been at Sherwood Forest for a couple of months as it is no longer in her best interests to remain at home for many reasons. The staff are always wonderful on our visits, always respectfully giving us quality time with Mum before addressing any issues we may need to know about. We weren't able to see Mum for a few weeks as we were away from the area but Sherwood rang me wirh regular updates and were happy for me to speak to Mum on the phone at any time when I called. Mum seems calmer and more settled than I have seen her in a while, clean, comfortable, well fed with a healthier appearance now. The home embraces both residents and visitors in a family community atmosphere with a great feeling of socialisation and belonging.

The period this relates to is almost 4 years up Dad's passing on May 13th 2026. Diagnosed with Vascular Dementia, and only given a few weeks to live, he was placed with Sheila, Karen & The Laurels Team of Carers. Clearly, as he was with us for a few years after diagnosis, we have doubts it was 100% accurate. But what is not in doubt is the clear care, affection, warmth and respect which Dad clearly received from every member of staff we met - it really did feel like he was 1 of the family! At his funeral I commented on his biggest Life-long Love being (probably) Food and there was no shortage of it on offer by the excellent kitchen staff too! Finally, I could wax-lyrical an awful lot longer.... But, suffice to say, If you have a choice of where you can send your loved ones to receive end-of-life care I can recommend The Laurels wholeheartedly.

The staff are a lovely, dedicated team who have clearly been carefully selected to reflect the home's exceptionally high standards of care. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Sherwood to anyone who has the difficult task of finding a home for their relative.

My dad went from the hospital to the Laurels, he was very frail and scared as were we all. We were met with positivity and understanding. Nurses fabulous through-out. Kitchen staff amazing- thank you! All very much appreciated.

My partner is very content which is very important for me. I know, he is being looked after.

I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff at laurels nursing home for the care & compassion they have shown for our mum & to us in the 5 months she was a resident in their care. Our mum suffered from dementia & sometimes she wasn't an easy person to deal with but the staff dealt with it with so much understanding, something we couldn't do at home. Thank you again

My father spent four months being cared for in The Park. I thought the service provided was exceptionally good. As a relative, it's critically important that you feel your loved one is well cared for, and that they are treated kindly, with dignity and respect. For my dad, this was certainly the case. The staff were all super-friendly and helpful. The general atmosphere in the home was warm and welcoming. It was a massive relief to know that he was well cared for. I feel grateful for everything they did for him.

My lovely wife and soul mate was admitted to the Laurels nursing home when the council decided to close down several homes in their possession, so my wife was transferred to the Laurels, she had later stages of dementia, and was treated like part of the family there, all of the staff were absolutely brilliant in the understanding of this horrible disease and I thank them all from the bottom of my heart for all of their kindness and dedication to their jobs, they looked after all of my family when we were visiting, I would thoroughly recommend this home

Having visited this care home on numerous occassions, I have found the staff to be very helpful, friendly and courteous. If I have had any concerns about my father they have been resolved in a very efficient manner.

Our friend was only at The Park home for 5 weeks. We found that he was well looked after. As you see the below we found it excellent. No problems. The staff were very friendly and helpfull. Thank you so much Patricia and Ian.

Having found ourselves in a situation where needing end of life care, we was given a list of homes to choose from it was all very allian to us as a family having never been in the situation before, we picked the park as our first choice and I am so glad we did, I was put at ease almost straight away after speaking with Violet on the morning of my uncles arrival.Nothing was to much trouble for any of the staff all very accommodating, any questions regarding my uncles care were answered promptly and he was looked after well if only for a short time, should we find ourselves needing care i would have no hesitation in choosing the park again. A big thank you to all members of staff we came into contact with.

My father in law was on palative care when entering the home. The staff were annoying and caring throughout his stay. He was mostly in his room so some staff members played board games with him. After he passed they prepared him lovely as we all said our goodbyes. I would recomend this home to anyone. Thank you.

3 years ago I had to make the heartbreaking decision to put both my mum and dad into care,both having dementia. I truly made the best decision putting them in Sherwood Forest. Everyone in there goes above and beyond and love my parents like I do.Unfortunately my dad passed away on the 6th January but the care and love they showed me during this time has been amazing. I cry with them and laugh with them. The activities are amazing and there is always something happening to keep them occupied. If I had to do it all again Sherwood would be the one I would choose. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything I love you all.

my wife was admitted to the park direct from a stay at hospital having been diagnosed with altziemers. it took a lot of searching and visiting other homes until a visit to the park where the atmosphere immediatley felt homely with a calming atmosphere, the staff were compassionate and friendly, nothing was too much trouble, they had a vocation not just a job, margaret was treated with care, respect and kindness, her room was clean and tidy, most of all the open door policy ensured that she could always see nurses and care staff and they could see her. she was included in activities and taken out into the garden on the warm sunny days.it relieved pressure on myself knowning that she was being looked after 24/7 professionally, i was also regularly kept informed by the staff of her progress. my thanks to all the staff for their care and attention.

You could come and go as you pleased and I always felt welcome.

The care given to my late aunt was exceptional from start to finish. Every member of staff was approachable, kind and always willing to help. Thank you for everything.
