It is usual for residents in care homes to contribute to the cost of their own care. Some people have the resources to pay for this in full, whilst others make means-tested contributions.
Our weekly fees are individual to each of our residents and are subject to a pre-admission assessment, which is required to understand the level of care and support needed. Our 2025 weekly care fees for residential care start from £1375 and for nursing care £1664, but may be in the region of 30% more*. This depends on your care needs and the type of bedroom that is right for you, from our standard rooms through to our premium bedroom options.
*If you require more specialist care such as 1-2-1 support, your weekly fee could be higher.

If you chose a care home based in England, you may be eligible for NHS Funded Nursing Care (FNC), which helps cover the cost of nursing. This is worth £254.06 per week and is usually paid directly to the care home.

I’ve been with Sanctuary Care since 2003, first starting as a carer and then becoming the activities co-ordinator at Riverlee.
My greatest achievement is seeing the residents having fun. This gives me comfort - I love seeing the residents laughing and smiling.
My name is Antonio Meloni I have been working in the care sector since 1990 as a carer and activities coordinator. I started working at Riverlee in November 2020 as an activities coordinator and I really enjoy my job - every day is different. I enjoy chatting with the residents making them happy and engaged with various activities. I also get along with all members of the staff who are all very nice and caring.
