The team at Riverlee provide residential, dementia, nursing and palliative care. They also offer respite care breaks, which can be booked in advance. These are ideal for family carers looking after loved ones at home. They can book a much-needed holiday, or simply take some time to recharge their batteries, with the peace of mind of knowing their loved one is in safe hands and enjoying a short break of their own.

The home has welcoming lounges, where residents can enjoy activities and relax with loved ones, who are welcome at any time.

Residents are encouraged to bring pictures, small items of furniture and anything else which makes their bedrooms truly feel like home.

In the dining rooms they enjoy nutritious, home-cooked meals prepared by the home’s chef, from roast dinners with all the trimmings to fish and chip Fridays and lighter bites such as home-made soups. And there are freshly baked cakes each for afternoon tea.

There are lots of activities to enjoy, from baking and crafts, to gentle exercise sessions and animal therapy. The home also has a Magic Table, a wonderful piece of technology designed in the Netherlands for people living with dementia. It connects them through social, interactive light games, which encourage gentle movement and some healthy competition!

The local community are embraced into life in the home, from singers and entertainers to local school children, who enjoy activities or simply spending time with the residents. Recently weekly music and reminiscence sessions have started with a local musician, filling the home with the sound of song. The residents love sitting and chatting about their musical memories, singing and playing different instruments.

Riverlee also has a hairdressing salon, for regular appointments with a mobile hairdresser, as well as pamper sessions, with manicures and hand massages.

Our weekly fees are individual to each of our residents and are subject to a pre-admission assessment, which is required to understand the level of care and support needed. Our 2025 weekly care fees for residential care start from £1375 and for nursing care £1664, but may be in the region of 30% more*. This depends on your care needs and the type of bedroom that is right for you, from our standard rooms through to our premium bedroom options.

My husband was a resident for over 3 years at Riverlee. During this time he was very well cared for and became his home and the staff his friends. The staff always made me welcome and it was always a pleasure to spend time at the home with them and my husband. Everyone at the home was incredibly kind
and supportive to me and my husband at the end and made sure we were both cared for.
I am very grateful to everyone at Riverlee for their friendship, care and support.

I have found the new management very good and approachable. I thing I have found the most beneficial for my husband is the stopping of moving staff around. I can see how it could benefit staff in a small way but so detrimental to dementia residents.

I come to visit my friend once a week. My lady is in a fantastic home, I find the staff are always keeping her occupied, as she is a hand full at time. I won't wish her to be in a better place than this care home. Thank you to all the staff that work with my friend on a daily basis.

I seen a lot of changes since two years. Rapid changes. I appreciate my mum's care plan been very laid out. Mum's has been looked after, my mum had replaced her chair with a recliner chair, this made her very relaxed. She more at peace, she falls asleep in the recliner chair, and is more happier. Very
much okay with staff day and night staff she familiar with all faces now. This took a while.

My wife has been here just over one year and is settled and probably quite used to her new home. Her care provided by the staff is good, very good from some staff. I think she is comfortable in her surroundings as can be expected. She is well treated and with dignity and her personal care and cleanliness
is excellent. The atmosphere in the home is warm and friendly.

The nursing staff, care staff, and everyone on Riverlee care team are warm, friendly, and approachable. Always have the time to talk and listen to any concerns. The staff is always visible.

My Dad stayed here for 2 weeks for respite. The staff were really nice and friendly to us and Dad. The care appeared to be satisfactory for the time we saw Dad there - they clearly were understaffed at the time and we had to contact the wing head nurse to request better communication on how he was getting
on. On arrival, they were more interested in getting the paperwork done (understandably as it was about medication, etc) but would have liked a bit more dialogue about getting to know Dad and what he liked and disliked as he was there for such a short time. The assistants serving food and checking in were lovely and took the time to talk to us about Dad and out our minds at ease.
We felt the home was a bit tired in decor and could have been cleaner - dad had an en suite toilet which did smell a bit. Dad took his own tv which was great and meant he could be comfortable in his own room. On return home, we discovered some of his clothes went missing despite labels and were never found. Overall good.

Extremely poor palliative care for my Mum, do not send anyone here that needs palliative care as they have no idea how to care for someone. Left my poor Mum in agony and I had to arrange extra medication for her as she was suffering.

Today everything is calm and purposeful - staff are quietly looking after the personal needs of the residents whilst the lounge is fumigated. My mother is clean and comfortable which is as much as I can hope for. All is good. Travelling as I do from Nottingham I visit weekly usually (strikes prevent
train travel at times) I have only once (two weeks ago, Feb 10) been disappointed by how I found my mother - she and her bed were a mess) possibly due to staff rotation? My mother is bedbound and doesn't eat meals.

I went to register my uncle with Riverlee Nursing Home and was warmly welcomed and given a cup of tea. The home was clean and the atmosphere was friendly and relaxed. The staff were very accommodating and showed me around. I must say I was very impressed.

My dad was here. Terrible staff, they all lie to cover their backs, everything going missing, dad fell and all tell lies after he had a bleed on the brain, staff are inapproachable, was forced to give 1 star!

I went with my mum and a family friend to visit Dad today. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the staff and sat down with Dad whilst he ate his lunch. The food looked tasty and appetising, and he ate it all. We are always brought a tray of tea and biscuit, and the staff go above and beyond
to make us all welcome. It does not feel like a nursing home at all, more like you are visiting family.

I am so pleased with Riverlee. My husband is always happy, the staff are so good and they show so much care to all residents and their family members, we are always made welcome with tea and it is so nice they call us by our first names.
