The team at Riverlee provide residential, dementia, nursing and palliative care. They also offer respite care breaks, which can be booked in advance. These are ideal for family carers looking after loved ones at home. They can book a much-needed holiday, or simply take some time to recharge their batteries, with the peace of mind of knowing their loved one is in safe hands and enjoying a short break of their own.

The home has welcoming lounges, where residents can enjoy activities and relax with loved ones, who are welcome at any time.

Residents are encouraged to bring pictures, small items of furniture and anything else which makes their bedrooms truly feel like home.

In the dining rooms they enjoy nutritious, home-cooked meals prepared by the home’s chef, from roast dinners with all the trimmings to fish and chip Fridays and lighter bites such as home-made soups. And there are freshly baked cakes each for afternoon tea.

There are lots of activities to enjoy, from baking and crafts, to gentle exercise sessions and animal therapy. The home also has a Magic Table, a wonderful piece of technology designed in the Netherlands for people living with dementia. It connects them through social, interactive light games, which encourage gentle movement and some healthy competition!

The local community are embraced into life in the home, from singers and entertainers to local school children, who enjoy activities or simply spending time with the residents. Recently weekly music and reminiscence sessions have started with a local musician, filling the home with the sound of song. The residents love sitting and chatting about their musical memories, singing and playing different instruments.

Riverlee also has a hairdressing salon, for regular appointments with a mobile hairdresser, as well as pamper sessions, with manicures and hand massages.

It is usual for residents in care homes to contribute to the cost of their own care. Some people have the resources to pay for this in full, whilst others make means-tested contributions.
Our weekly fees are individual to each of our residents and are subject to a pre-admission assessment, which is required to understand the level of care and support needed. Our 2025 weekly care fees for residential care start from £1375 and for nursing care £1664, but may be in the region of 30% more*. This depends on your care needs and the type of bedroom that is right for you, from our standard rooms through to our premium bedroom options.

I am constantly amazed by the dedication of Riverlee staff. They do a great job under difficult circumstances. My mum's behaviour is very demanding and her needs change month to month. I find staff very open and easy to talk with. Thank you for all you do.

There is nothing much to say about the home. The staff is wonderful, always smiling and very helpful. I can visit my husband any time and it is very clean. I would recommend it to anyone. I have already done so and the young lady is happy to put her mother in Riverlee. She likes it.

Riverlee staff are great, very caring and take good physical care of my father.
The 2 problems I have are;
1. Not having enough staff especially at meal times.
2. Hardly any decent mental stimulation.
Unfortunately, Riverlee seems like "God's waiting room" which is a real shame.

Lovely home, staff so friendly. Felt very welcomed when entering the home, all staff treat all residents with such care. Felt very at ease. The food looks delicious and all rooms are so clean and modern. Lounges are all modernised and really lovely.

My friend, 63, has lived in a sheltered housing scheme for 12 years. Then she developed dementia and kept falling. Since being moved to Riverlee, I feel she is safer and being cared for 24 hours a day which means her quality of life is so much better. The home and staff meet all her needs and she is

Very caring home. My nan spent her last 5 months here at Riverlee and was treated with the utmost care especially at the end of her life. Food is fantastic and residents are encouraged to join in activities, shows, parties and off-site visits.

My partner has been at Riverlee Residential and Nursing Home for 2 years. I have been impressed with the care he receives. The manager and deputy are approachable and deal with any issues quickly and professionally. There is not a great many staff changes, staff seem to stay a long time which says a
lot I think. The nursing staff are very kind and caring as are the carers and there are always training sessions going on as the staff seem to be well trained. They are very helpful and will spend time talking to my partner even though he can be difficult at times.

The decision to pass the care of my husband to a home was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. The home is for the residents, they always out their needs first and are willing to listen when there is a problem. Mum has settled well.
