Riverlee Residential and Nursing Home

I went to register my uncle with Riverlee Nursing Home and was warmly welcomed and given a cup of tea. The home was clean and the atmosphere was friendly and relaxed. The staff were very accommodating and showed me around. I must say I was very impressed.

My dad was here. Terrible staff, they all lie to cover their backs, everything going missing, dad fell and all tell lies after he had a bleed on the brain, staff are inapproachable, was forced to give 1 star!

I went with my mum and a family friend to visit Dad today. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the staff and sat down with Dad whilst he ate his lunch. The food looked tasty and appetising, and he ate it all. We are always brought a tray of tea and biscuit, and the staff go above and beyond to make us all welcome. It does not feel like a nursing home at all, more like you are visiting family.

It is always very clean and my husband's bedroom is very nice, tidy and clean.

Staff are friendly, activities are also ok. My mother is settled and I am quite happy for my mum to be here. The place and the environment is clean.

Staff and carers are lovely.

Very happy with the service provided to my dad. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Always informative even when I cannot visit.

I hope this was a one-off. Very upsetting for us.

My mum is well looked after at Riverlee. Before she went there she was often falling, getting infections that made her delirious etc. Since being in care she has been well, healthy, and had a good appetite. The staff know what they are doing and keep her comfortable. She caught covid early on, in April 2020. She spent 10 weeks in hospital and at the end, she could no longer walk and had severe delirium. Since being at Riverlee she has slowly settled and is now in much better shape. She will never walk again, and she does have some delirium or dementia, but she is much more calm and lucid than she was. The staff are supportive and helpful. If I have any criticism it is that the staff don't communicate that much - it takes time to find out how they work. And it would be great if each resident had a key worker who took a particular interest in their mental well-being, rather than that being a general shared responsibility. But having said that, the staff kept going through covid.

My husband receives good care and just as important it is given with kindness. He is greeted by carers, medical and auxiliary staff by name and sometimes given a "High Five". He sometimes does not eat and carers are encouraging, and if this happens at visiting/meal times I am given some food in order to encourage him. I am more than happy that my family chose Riverlee, we are kept up to date on his wellbeing.

Staff are kind and caring for residents and relatives. Nothing is too much trouble.

Can I say a big thank you to the weekend staff, the receptionist goes above and beyond to facilitate visits and is incredibly supportive, always greets me with a smile and leaves me feeling reassured. Any member of staff that I have had interaction with is super friendly. Loved the smell of the roast on Sunday in the building and the member of staff with the boom box brings energy into the building. It filled me with joy. Thank you once again, I enjoy all of your energy and infectious smiles and care.

My dad had dementia and came to the care home in 2016 but sadly passed away in July ‘19. Now my mum has had to come here because she had a spinal injury and needs round the clock care. The staff are so kind here. And as much as I find it so hard, mum being in the home, I can rest easy knowing she’s well looked after. One staff member who has been here 4 years and worked on reception at weekends, but now works during the week as well knew my dad and my mum from when we used to visit dad. Since mum has come to the care home the staff member has really taken mum under her wing, she’s so sad that mum has had to come here as well. She always checks in on mum, and is very caring and will go out of her way to help wherever possible.

I have found all the staff extremely helpful and they keep our family informed of any changes or needs of my mother. The home itself is always clean and offers a good environment with activities available. The staff have looked after my mother through this very difficult time and kept us up to date when we were unable to visit and the only way was via FaceTime.

Home is extremely well run and my mother is always clean and tidy. The staff are friendly, caring and helpful. Particularly want to thank a staff member for all her help and kindness.

In these uncertain times we have all been through, thank you to all the staff at Riverlee doesn't seem enough. I am so grateful for all their support and care towards my mum, keeping her safe. All the staff I feel have stepped outside the box. Staff have tried to keep normal day to day running (activities etc) which has been nice for the residents. Thank you Riverlee.

The staff at Riverlee offer good and consistent care and treat the residents with a respectful and caring attitude. They show tremendous patience. I witnessed a new resident head butt a member of staff one day but she reacted calmly and caringly. I am happy that the person I have LPOA for is safe at Riverlee.

My 98 year old Mum has been at Riverlee since June 2018 and I have always been extremely satisfied by the care and kindness the staff show towards her. Due to quarantine restrictions, I have been unable to visit Mum for almost a year now, but we are able to communicate regularly via Skype. I would like to state my appreciation of the devotion of the nursing staff, carers and administrative staff who strive to do their utmost to maintain the cheerful and homely atmosphere at Riverlee, particularly in the current challenging circumstances. I am also informed immediately of any important issues affecting Mum’s health and I take part in the monthly Relatives’ meeting organised via Zoom which enables me to keep up to date with recent developments. My sincere thanks to all members of staff at Riverlee who are a credit to the management.
