The Green is an attractive home which has had an extensive internal refurbishment, with lots of wonderful spaces for the residents to relax with their loved ones, who are welcome at any time.

At the centre of the home is a beautiful, enclosed courtyard garden, where residents enjoy gardening activities. This summer they’ve loved growing their own produce, harvesting it for the chef to use in the kitchen. There are raised planters for residents in wheelchairs to enjoy gardening and sheltered seating so they can enjoy the fresh air even if it’s raining!

As well as residential and dementia care, the team also offers respite care breaks, which can be pre-booked and are ideal for family carers who would like to take a short break themselves, with the peace of mind of knowing their loved one is in safe hands.

There are lots of welcoming, communal lounges and dining rooms, and a spacious, light and airy open plan entrance room with a piano off the main glass atrium. With so many spaces to enjoy, residents and their families really can enjoy quality time together.

The Green is a vibrant, thriving home where the team is passionate about enriching the lives of their residents with so many activities and experiences. From games and visits from well-behaved dogs, to arts and crafts and baking.

Mealtimes are a real highlight of the day, with an extremely talented chef who prepares delicious, home-cooked meals and even makes chocolates for the residents, as well as freshly baked cookies and cakes every day for afternoon tea.

The local community is embraced into life in the home, from local singers and musicians to animal therapy groups, who bring along everything from rabbits to snakes. The residents also enjoy regular exercise sessions and appointments with a mobile hairdresser in the home’s salon.

Next door to Redruth Rugby Football Club, The Green is also a ten-minute walk from the town centre.

Mum had a week of respite care in November 2025. Mum has vascular dementia amd this was her first time in any form of care. We found mum was very well cared for, very well fed, and assisted with all her needs. She was safe and happy. The staff were all caring and professional. From the point of first
contact with Sanctuary, the tour of the home for myself and siblings, and then booking her respite, was all handled smoothly. Her room was very clean and spacious and there was plenty of communal space. The outdoor area was secure and well tended. My siblings visited mum daily and were impressed with the level of care, and were made to feel very welcome. We would be very happy for mum to stay at The Green, Redruth, again. Thank you to all the staff for their kindness and compassion.
Reply from Jacob Hardie, Design and Marketing Assistant at The Green Residential Care HomeThank you for sharing such thoughtful feedback. We're delighted to hear your mum felt safe, happy and well cared for during her first experience of respite care. It's wonderful that you and your family found the process smooth and felt welcomed when visiting. We truly appreciate your kind words about the home, our team and the environment, and we look forward to supporting you again in the future.

The staff at The Green Residential Care Home are exceptional. We were blown away by how kind and dilligent they are. I was at ease knowing she was there. The building was having repairs during her stay and this posed a few challenges but the staff worked really hard to minimise this.

We had a friendly welcome, and as soon as I gave my aunt's name, they knew exactly who I was talking about. Sitting and chatting in the lounges was friendly. When lunch was called, she was welcomed to a table. We returned after lunch and sat with her in the bedroom. She relaxed and slept. Perhaps a
chair for her in the bedroom would be good? We returned the next day, and she was up and dressed. As we do not visit often, she does not remember us well, but responded in conversation about familiar things. The home is a place she feels secure and is "home". Thank you.

My mother says that she enjoys her time during respite care.
The staff and permanent residents are very welcoming, and she enjoyed being in the company of "old friends "
The only issue that I had was that when I picked up my mother her hair looked very greasy. So I do wander how often she had had
a shower and hair wash during her 2 week stay.
Reply from Jacob Hardie, Design and Marketing Assistant at The Green Residential Care HomeThank you so much for sharing your feedback. We're truly pleased to hear that your mother enjoyed her time with us during her respite stay, and that she felt welcomed and supported by both our staff and residents. It's always heartwarming to know that our environment fosters meaningful connections and a sense of community. Our team pride themselves on providing the very best care to all our residents and we really do appreciate this feedback. It has been passed directly onto our team.

Lovely care home, couldn't do enough to help when my mum, from a different care home (which was diabolical), kind, very caring staff, plenty of activities for residents to do, rooms are clean, clothes always neatly put away, plenty of choice for meals, always welcoming family to join in with activities,
cannot fault the home at all

Moving my mother to The Green Residential Care Home has been wonderful. The staff are warm, friendly, and genuinely passionate about their work, always treating residents with care and respect. Since arriving, my mother has become more like her old self before Alzheimer's-she's extremely happy, engaged,
and has a new lease of life. The activities are thoughtful and varied, and the home is always clean and welcoming. Meals are delicious and tailored to residents' needs. I am so grateful for the outstanding care she receives and highly recommend The Green to anyone seeking a caring, supportive environment for their loved one.

Dad needed a week where I knew he'd be safe and supported while we spent time away. From the first phone call, to initial visit, and then the stay, nothing was too much trouble. Dad was well fed, entertained, socialised, rested and very well looked after. When we came to pick him up, he was packed and
ready to go. The staff were sad to see him leave and several residents said heartfelt farewells. Dad wants to go back again and I hope he can. Thank you all.

My father has settled extremely well into The Green. From the very start he has been calmer, had great company - staff and residents - which has enhanced his every day life significantly.
There is always a calm, caring and inclusive atmosphere with activities for residents, lovely good and opportunity
to socialise or reside in calmer rooms.
The home is always tidy, clean and many staff available and on hand. Some outside activities may contribute to the well being of residents and staff making the environment a top establishment!

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.688)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.688) out of 10 for The Green Residential Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 27 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 26 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.688 for The Green Residential Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (239 Excellents x 5) + (59 Goods x 4) + (10 Satisfactorys x 3) + (5 Poors x 2) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 314 Ratings = 4.688
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Green Residential Care Home is based on 26 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 43 registered maximum number of service users is 8.6, which has been reached with 26 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
