With a team devoted to enriching the lives of their residents, Ashwood Park has a warm family feel the moment you walk through the door.

Providing residential, nursing, dementia and palliative care, the team also offers respite care breaks, which are ideal for family carers who would like to plan a short break themselves, knowing their loved one is in safe hands.

The team support the residents to play a very active role in how their home is run, and there’s a resident ambassador who provides feedback on everything from the menu to the activities on offer, as well as welcoming new staff and residents.

There are so many engaging activities, from baking and pamper sessions, with manicures and hand massages, to singalongs with the piano. The residents enjoy regular entertainers, who fill the home with music.

Mealtimes are a real highlight of the day, with the chef preparing delicious home-cooked meals and freshly baked cakes for afternoon tea.

Ashwood Park has a beautiful hair salon, for regular appointments with the mobile hairdresser, and there is a secure courtyard garden, home to ducks Pip, Hamish and Bonnie!   

There are so many spaces to relax with loved ones, who are welcome at any time, from the welcoming lounges and garden room to the café. And there is a private family and friends Facebook group.

The local community are embraced into life at Ashwood Park. Local school children regularly visit to enjoy activities and sing with the residents. And there are regular visits and outings with their fellow residents from Sanctuary Care’s neighbouring home.

Many of the residents love animals, so there are lots of visits from everything from dogs to animal therapy sessions with owls, guinea pigs and rabbits.

And there’s plenty to do outside the home, with trips to the Easington Beach, shopping centres, cafés, garden centres and the local school, the marina and pub lunches.

Our weekly fees are individual to each of our residents and are subject to a pre-admission assessment, which is required to understand the level of care and support needed. Our 2025 weekly care fees for residential care start from £1126 and for nursing care £1334, but may be in the region of 30% more*. This depends on your care needs and the type of bedroom that is right for you, from our standard rooms through to our premium bedroom options.

My mother was in IC unit, she had a very good experience as all staff could not do enough to help in all ways. I would recommend Ashwood as I could not fault it. All family members were happy with the care our mam received and he welcome they made us feel.

My stepdad was admitted from hospital into an intermediate care facility for six weeks rehab. The improvement in his transfer and confidence was lovely to see. The carers in the unit were always cheerful and helpful. They made a big difference to his self-confidence and dignity. Can't thank the staff

This is an excellent home. Very friendly. All staff are excellent and make you feel at home and do everything to help. Meals are good and service excellent. Entertainment is very good and a lot of different things to participate in and the staff who run them are excellent in making you feel at home

My mother in law was admitted into the hands of the intermediate care unit after spending 4 weeks in hospital. I cannot believe how much she has improved and this is all down to the fantastic care she is receiving. The Team leaders and care assistants are amazing nothing is a bother to them. From the
moment you enter Ashwood Park you are greeted with a smile and a hello. Her room is kept clean and is odour free. She has said they feed you too much ha ha but I have been there when they offer her a choice from the menu on the day and there is always an alternative if it is not what she wants. There is lots of activities on and this is given to her at the beginning of the week on an activity planner. The residents are offered hot and cold drinks throughout the day and when we are visiting we are also offered these. The volunteer gardener is so pleasant and jolly. They have the ducks in the garden and when the weather is nice I have witnessed the residents sitting in the garden

We are so grateful for the care and attention that mam has received in the time that she has been in Ashwood P.R for rehabilitation care. The staff are attentive, friendly and have provided excellent support to meet her care and medical needs. They also liaise with all of mam's secondary care providers
and ensure that all appointments are coordinated and met. We have 'peace of mind' as we know that mam is safe and well.

Over the last 12 months, my husband has experienced two periods here in an NHS intermediate care bed. On each occasion, he has been given as much care and attention that he needed. The staff have all been extremely supportive and reassuring to us both in these difficult times. They look after some poorly
patients and despite the many demands placed on them, it is clear that they really care about the job that they do.

The time I spent at Ashwood Park on the nursing unit, I received the best care I have ever received in the nursing profession. They are all such amazing, caring and kind people who work so hard. If I could stay longer I would and I look forward to volunteering once I'm well enough to do so.

My sister was made a permanent resident at Ashwood Park Residential & Nursing Home in November this year (2024). She has settled in very well due to the staff at the home being very patient and caring. The food at the home is excellent, the care is excellent. Everything is done with the residents coming

My husband spent a year in Ashwood Park Residential & Nursing Home. I cannot praise the staff enough for their kindness and care. Everyone from the manager, the carers, kitchen staff, cleaners and laundry could not have done any more, right until his death. I cannot thank them enough.

I would never have considered residential for my grandfather anywhere else. The care and support from the staff at Ashwood Park has always been exceptional. All the staff always go the extra mile and I am very happy knowing he is well looked after, safe and secure.
