With stunning views over Magdalen Green and the iconic Tay Railway Bridge over the River Tay, Bridge View House is in a beautiful location. Providing residential, nursing, dementia and palliative care, the team also offer respite care breaks.

It's the dedication of the staff which make this home, which is rated 'Good' by the Care Inspectorate, stand out. Devoted to enriching the lives of their residents, they organise so many activities which bring them joy.

There are animal visits, with everything from rabbits and guinea pigs to ponies, weekly spa activities, with face masks and manicures and a pub quiz night. And every morning there is a gentle exercise class to get the day started!

The team take the residents out to places they love to visit, from the local railway restaurant and shopping trips to pub lunches.

And they are passionate about the residents having an active role to play in how their home is run, with resident ambassadors, who provide feedback to staff and welcome new residents and their families.

In the dining room, residents enjoy delicious home-cooked meals and freshly baked cakes for afternoon tea, prepared by a devoted chef who has been with the home for over 20 years.

The local community are embraced into life at Bridge View House, from local school children who sing for the residents, to toddlers from the nearby nursery who take part in activities. Every week a mobile hairdresser visits for appointments in the home’s hair salon, which also has a nail bar for a spot of pampering.   

There are welcoming lounges to relax in with loved ones, who are welcome at any time. The main lounge has beautiful period features, including a bay window with stunning views across the river. Outside there is a garden room, where families can enjoy private celebrations. The home also has a private Facebook group for loved ones.

My father moved into Bridge View in July this year. He had been in hospital for 3 months and was quite disorientated when he first arrived. He took a few days to settle in. His original room was not ideal with a lot of movement and noise outside and we requested that he could be moved if another room
became available which happened very quickly. Dad settled much better in this room and it was much more suited to him.
The staff are all very caring and friendly and Dad always looks clean, well cared for and encouraged to sit in his chair or go to another area in the home ( he rarely cooperates but is at least given the opportunity!) There have been periods where his appetite is not very good and he is encouraged to try and eat something at mealtimes or is offered a snack out with mealtimes.
His room is bright and warm and he has regular attention throughout the day. There have been few difficulties but if anything has arisen I have been informed by telephone. Very happy with care.

Bridgeview is simply first class. The hard-working, dedicated, friendly, caring staff are the best. Exactly like a second family, which is incredible. From the nursing staff to the care home assistants, cooks, technicians and cleaners. Every one is caring, compassionate, fun, loving and highly professional.
They are, indeed, an elite team. I have absolute peace of mind and one hundred percent confidence in the fact that my precious mama receives superlative care, on a daily basis. Thank you


Management are lots of fun and are continually making improvements to the home and introducing innovative ideas and resources with the residents. They always encourage loved ones to engage with the home and have an open door policy for any communication.


The regular, fun, fantastic varied activities and events that the home host are simply wonderful. I have many cherished video and photo memories of myself and my mama at a range of these events.

My Aunty Helen spent her last days at Bridge View House and her care was exemplary
The efforts that staff went to to try and include her in activities and get a smile on her face were heart warming
The sense of warmth and care extended to Helen was a great comfort to her but also to her family who
due to distance and health issues could not visit. The posts and piccies really made us all smile and we could see she was happy

Mum spent her last years in the professional care of the team at Bridge View. The staff were well trained, caring and always strived to to provide the best for all of the residents. Manicures, hair styling, visiting musicians, dancers, craft, flower arranging - they even had Shetland ponies visiting
the residents' rooms. Everything was spotlessly clean and the rooms and corridors had a fresh smell to them, unlike other homes I have visited in the past. Mum's room was extra large with two windows and an ensuite shower room. It was beautifully decorated, well maintained and extremely comfortable.
She had started to eat properly and joined in the activities until her dementia finally got too much in her final few months. The staff ensured that she was treated with the utmost dignity and respect, providing the family with regular updates as her condition deteriorated.
We could not have found a better way to help Mum live a safe and dignified life in her last two years.

She is very well cared for, physically and emotionally.

Staff are kind, caring and considerate.
Nothing is too much trouble for them. As a family we are reasured that Mum is in good hands.
She has her hair done at the hairdresser, takes part in lots of activities and enjoys a drink from "the bar".

My brother was a resident in Bridgeview Care Home for almost a year. The staff were amazing. One of the Nurses, carers, cleaning and laundry staff always had a word for him. Lovely to deal with. They kept him clean and his room/shower room was cleaned regularly.

I have lived at Bridge View for 2 years. The home is to me friendly and lovely place to live. Most of the staff are so considerate and helpful. I love our beautiful garden, our home has had a rough time but thanks to our new manager it's on the up and is a happy place to be.

My mum moved up to Dundee from England and into Bridge View at the start of the year to be close to me and my brother. From the initial contact with the team at Bridge View to mum moving in was faultless. All of the care staff on the ground floor, the nurses and the care team are fantastic with mum
and the family. They are always ready to listen and act on any concerns and they will go above and beyond to help. The management team are always available if there are any issues and they have been very supportive throughout mums move. There is always something going on for the residents, be it games in the lounge, weekly "pub quiz" or a sing along with the different singers that come to entertain. The food in Bridge View is varied and looks great and again if mum wants something different all she need do is ask. Mum seems to have settled in and importantly she is happy.

Putting Mum into care was one of the hardest decisions we've ever faced. After visiting many homes, Bridge View stood out immediately for its warmth, comfort, and genuine care. Since moving in, we've been reassured time and again that we made the right choice. The staff are friendly, compassionate,
and truly go above and beyond to help Mum feel settled, safe, and valued. The atmosphere is joyful and lively, with a fantastic range of activities-Mum especially loves the bowling, live music, and quizzes. Special thanks to the amazing manager, whose caring leadership sets the tone for the whole home. He makes us feel supported and involved in every step of Mum's care. The facilities are spotless, the garden is peaceful, and communication with families is excellent. We finally have peace of mind knowing Mum is in such loving, capable hands. Staff are amazing and cared for dad as if he was their own parent/grandparent. Every level of staff knew his name and his moods and routines. He was always treated with respect and always clean and tidy when I saw him no matter when I arrived. Dad often spent days in bed but he was still washed, shaved
and had clean pyjamas and bedding every day.
The food always looked appealing and always had something dad would like. If he didn't like the meal of the day there were always other options available.
There are activities every day morning and afternoon and staff always on hand to help residents with challenging activities. Dad enjoyed some trips out for meals/coffee etc.
I definitely recommend Bridgeview

Dad moved to Bridge View House Care Home in February 2024. He’s experienced significant health and mobility decline in a very short time, so readjusting to this and his new home is very hard for him. The nursing care to get the correct mix of medication to manage pain and alert and awake has been exemplary.
Every single team member has taken time and is still taking time to get to know him and support him. Nothing is too much trouble and the attention to provide individual care and attention is excellent. My dad greets some of the team like his grandkids, he loves seeing them and when he is welcomed back in after a day out, he genuinely feels the “love” which is reassuring for us, as a family. The team have set a high bar and our expectations are high because of the great job they have done in this short space of time.

Our stepdad thought of Bridgeview as his home, the manager and her team gave him excellent care.
Such a friendly care home, staff so approachable with any worries we had, and nothing was too much trouble, it gave us peace of mind to know he was very well cared for.

Bridge View became my dad’s home in September 2023. The staff have taken time to get to know him (and us) to meet his needs. He took very unwell last week and the nurses and care staff took such good care of him and supported him to make a full recovery. The deputy manager is so approachable and has

My mum was only in Bridge View House Care Home for three weeks but the care was exemplary. The staff were very caring of my mum and the rest of the family in the days before she passed away. Nothing was too much trouble and we were able to spend as much time as we wanted with Mum. The standard of care
was very high. Having worked many homes myself, it was the hardest decision ever but Bridge View House was an excellent choice.

I have found the transition for Mum to be incredibly straightforward and the communication to be excellent. Mum settled so quickly and is so happy. The staff, without exception, are all so kind, caring and respectful. All requests are dealt with extremely promptly. Residents are treated as individuals

My mother spent the last four months of her life in Bridge View and I cannot thank the staff enough for her care. She settled in well and enjoyed several months before she, unfortunately, passed away. She was happy and extremely well-fed. All the staff were friendly and cared for her every need. Any
communication with the family was always dealt with quickly and there was never any issues regarding her care. It is always difficult having to place a family member in care, no matter the circumstances, but the staff at Bridge View helped the whole family adjust to my mother being in a care home.
