With stunning views over Magdalen Green and the iconic Tay Railway Bridge over the River Tay, Bridge View House is in a beautiful location. Providing residential, nursing, dementia and palliative care, the team also offer respite care breaks.

It's the dedication of the staff which make this home, which is rated 'Good' by the Care Inspectorate, stand out. Devoted to enriching the lives of their residents, they organise so many activities which bring them joy.

There are animal visits, with everything from rabbits and guinea pigs to ponies, weekly spa activities, with face masks and manicures and a pub quiz night. And every morning there is a gentle exercise class to get the day started!

The team take the residents out to places they love to visit, from the local railway restaurant and shopping trips to pub lunches.

And they are passionate about the residents having an active role to play in how their home is run, with resident ambassadors, who provide feedback to staff and welcome new residents and their families.

In the dining room, residents enjoy delicious home-cooked meals and freshly baked cakes for afternoon tea, prepared by a devoted chef who has been with the home for over 20 years.

The local community are embraced into life at Bridge View House, from local school children who sing for the residents, to toddlers from the nearby nursery who take part in activities. Every week a mobile hairdresser visits for appointments in the home’s hair salon, which also has a nail bar for a spot of pampering.   

There are welcoming lounges to relax in with loved ones, who are welcome at any time. The main lounge has beautiful period features, including a bay window with stunning views across the river. Outside there is a garden room, where families can enjoy private celebrations. The home also has a private Facebook group for loved ones.

My experience with Bridge View Care Home has been outstanding, every member of staff was excellent and a few really stood out more than others. The care my dad received was 5 star, it's like a family and you feel really at home and included, nothing was too much trouble and all wishes met. My dad felt
really comfortable there and he had lots of banter and laughs with staff, he had a few favourites right up to the end of my dad's life he was well cared for.

My Mum has been a resident at Bridge View care home since November 2019. What strikes you first about the care home and was the main reason we chose it for Mum is that it has a homely feel about it. Others we looked at felt cold and clinical but Bridge View felt welcoming and someplace that I thought
Mum could happily call 'home'. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming and we knew we'd made the right choice at an early stage. Since then we have gone through the worst of times with the pandemic but as we come out of that I can only say that my Mum is happy and feels at home. I dreaded putting my Mum in a care home but she is so well cared for and much happier now. I can thoroughly recommend Bridge View to anyone - they are a kind and caring bunch and go out of their way to make my Mum and me (when I visit) feel at home.

My mother has lived at Bridge View care home for over a year now. She is really happy there. She has a lovely room, gets good food, her laundry is done and her room is cleaned for her. The staff are wonderful - patient, kind, caring and most are fun-loving. Entertainment and activities are provided
(under normal circumstances) and the care home staff are always open to new ideas. They go out of their way to accommodate, for example, during lockdown they set up Skype calls and when we weren't allowed into the home due to COVID restrictions and had to stand outside, they set up a system with microphones/speakers whereby residents and their visitors could communicate with one another.
I have selected everything as excellent apart from value for money which I have said is 'good' and this is because I feel that the weekly cost for self-funding residents is extortionate and unfairly distributed (ie people who don't have assets or didn't own their own home are funded by the council).

My mother who is 98 years old has been a resident at Bridge View House Care Home for just over three years. During this time she has received excellent care and has always been treated with dignity and respect by all the wonderful staff in a warm and friendly environment. I am kept fully updated and
immediately made aware of any changes or concerns. The staff have been exemplary during the Covid-19 pandemic. In the past we visited mum daily – unfortunately, due to sight and hearing impairments, video calls and window visits are not a success. We miss contact with mum and look forward to normal visits resuming.
The new manager and her staff are all very friendly and approachable.
Thank you for all the care, kindness and support you provide to mum and the family - this is very much appreciated.

My mum is currently in Bridge View House for respite care and to be assessed after a recent fall, where she broke her wrist. She has Alzheimer's and we were all needing to understand her care needs going forward.
My sister and I have been very impressed with the manager and her team, the support that
my mum has been given has been excellent. Any teething difficulties we have had have been dealt with quickly and very positively. All of the staff we have met have treated my mum with care and dignity and the activity coordinators have really helped a very resistant mum to get more involved in what's been going on.
I can't thank the manager and her team enough and would highly recommend Bridge View House to others. Thank you.

My mum has been in Bridge View for a few weeks now and seems to have settled in well. Always seems happy. Although we haven't been in the home yet due to guidelines, management and staff are all very nice and always take the time to talk to me if I have any concerns.

The resident has been living in Bridge View for several months receiving palliative care. The care is excellent in all respects. The knowledgeable manager and staff nurses addressed complex medical needs, alongside relevant specialists.
I can't praise highly enough all of the staff - each has helped
make Bridge View a real home in my friend's last months. Friends and relatives will always be grateful.

My father had been in Bridge View care home since November 2017. He had a variety of ailments which made him physically very frail but was still mentally very sound. The care given by all the staff was excellent. They tried to make him feel as independent as possible. As he deteriorated healthwise the
care given was beyond reproach. In the last few days of his life they made sure he was never left alone and were a great support to myself and my daughter. I can not praise them highly enough.

My Dad moved into Bridge View House in February into one of the newly refurbished rooms with en-suite bathroom. The home is very clean and tidy with all laundry done on-site. There is a choice from the menu each day with home cooked food which is second to none. Improvements can clearly be seen under
the guidance of the new manager. The staff are all exceptional and all go the extra mile with their caring and friendly attitude to make Dad as happy and comfortable as possible. Dad says it is a great hotel!

Bridgeview House care home, facing Magdalen Green and the Tay Bridge approach in Dundee, is a pleasant place. It has been recently extended and redecorated and the public rooms and bedrooms are comfortable. The care and nursing staff are kind and competent, and I have no worries about leaving my unfortunate
wife Brenda, an Alzheimer's sufferer, in their hands. Certainly, she has not asked me, on any daily visit, to take her home!

Looking for a care home that felt like home was important to mum, sisters and me. Bridge View House fitted that criteria since mum took up residency in January 2017 it has become obvious the right choice was made.
A new manager has recently taken up the post and already there are positive changes.
Resident and family meetings are held monthly. The staff are very pleasant and courteous when dealing with residents. The manager promotes families to approach her at any time with any concerns. Meals are nourishing and well prepared. Positive experience!
