Briarscroft has a team who are passionate about enriching the lives of their residents, with activities and experiences which bring them joy. Providing residential and dementia care, they also offer respite care breaks.

The community are embraced into life in the home, with regular visits from people who treat the residents to everything from Bollywood dancing and African drumming to gentle exercise sessions and live music.

Local school children regularly pop into the home, as does miniature Dachshund Herbert! The home also has two cats, a cockatiel and a budgie!

The residents enjoy trips out into the community, from the local shops to Planet Ice, where they can enjoy seasonal productions.

The team are passionate about supporting the residents to have a very active role to play in how their home is run, giving them a sense of purpose and belonging. There are a team of resident ambassadors, who do everything from interviewing potential staff and providing feedback, to welcoming new residents and their families to Briarscroft.

The beautiful gardens stretch all the way round the home and back onto Shard End Lake. With a potting shed, raised planters and wheelchair friendly pathways, they are the perfect spot to relax in the summer. This year the team and residents have loved growing their own tomatoes and herbs, harvesting them for the chef to use in the kitchen, giving them such a sense of achievement.

The home also has a cinema room, with a candyfloss and popcorn machine, a hair salon, for weekly appointments with a mobile hairdresser, and a bistro, which is a lovely spot to relax with loved ones, who are welcome at any time.

Briarscroft also has welcoming lounges and dining rooms, where residents enjoy delicious home-cooked meals, from roast dinners with all the trimmings to freshly baked cakes for afternoon tea, as well as regular cheese and wine evenings and homemade cocktails!

Although mom has only been at Briarscroft for a few months, I feel she is receiving excellent care and being very well looked after. The carers are great at doing their job and mom is very happy in their company. She loves socialising and gets great enjoyment from taking part in all the activities.

It's difficult to put into words how much gratitude I have for the staff at Briarscroft. They're amazing! Every single member of staff I've met have been the most kindest, caring and personable people. Dad was welcomed in and made to feel right at home, and I was too! The staff couldn't do enough for
us and the care they provide is absolute top quality. The administrator made the whole moving in process, which can be so daunting, extremely easy and has gone above and beyond time and time again. She truly is a diamond. The carers, manager, and the activities coordinator all deserve so much praise. Theres always plenty of activities and entertainment for the residents to enjoy. The home is a very safe, warm and welcoming environment. The cleaning standards are 10/10 too. I would recommend Briarscroft to anyone who is considering it. It's so nice to see my dad happy and smiling again.

Initially, I was concerned that my dad would not like the care home. He likes it and I believe he feels well cared for. I have two issues however, firstly, sometimes communication is poor EG when messages have been passed on, sometimes I feel I need to chase. Secondly, his toilet has still not been
replaced.
Overall I am happy with the care that is provided. Thank you.

Mum has been at Briarscroft for nearly 4 years and can honestly say we couldn't have chosen a better place, the staff are wonderful so kind and caring and always make the effort to engage with Mum. The rooms are beautiful and always immaculately cleaned too. Mum always enjoys the food and loves the

My dear friend has been part of Briarscroft family since 2021. They look after each and every service user with so much care and consideration. There is always something going on whether it's bingo or a sing song. When the sun is shining the grounds are so lovely to sit and have a cuppa.
They are
all a credit to the care profession as I know it's a hard job.

My Dad has been living in Briarscroft since July 2024. He is settled, well cared for and thriving in their care. Can't fault anything, From his own room being spotless and the care he receives daily is wonderful. Dad has been welcomed by all of the staff and treated like one of the family. His care
needs are fully met and I can now enjoy a Father and son relationship once again. Briarscroft is highly recommended.

I cannot express enough gratitude to Briarscroft Residential Care Home for the outstanding care they provided to my grandad during his time there. From the moment he arrived, it was evident that this was more than just a care facility. It was a community filled with compassion and dedication. They treated
him with the dignity and respect he deserved which meant so much to our family. Even during challenging moments, their professionalism and kindness never wavered.
What truly stood out was how they made an effort to keep us informed and involved. Regular updates, genuine communication and a warm welcome whenever we visited made us feel like partners in his care. The environment itself was warm and inviting with clean, well-maintained spaces and a calm, homely atmosphere. My mum spent 2 weeks at Briarscroft Residential Care Home having respite care whilst she recovered from a leg injury. She thoroughly enjoyed her time there and had nothing but praise for the staff. The staff reciprocated a genuine warmth towards her which helped ease any concerns that I had about her
staying in a care home for the first time. If she needs further respite care, Briarscroft will be the first phone call I make.

My mom moved in December 2023 following my being unhappy with the quality of her previous care home.
As soon as I viewed Briarscroft Residential Care Home, I knew that she would be happy here and I could finally breathe! The staff are kind, relatable and fun, they care for the residents so well without
being patronising.
My mom has made friendships with other residents and it's happy.
This isn't the care home you imagine with residents sat in front of a TV like zombies. This is a happy and vibrant "hotel-like" home.
Food - amazing and plenty of it!
Hygiene - can't be faulted.
Decor - relaxing and lovely.
Garden - amazing and so useful for those who cannot get out into the community.
I will have missed so many things I would like to say but thank you Briarscroft for changing our lives!

When I first came here, I was very shy and I did not know anyone but when I started to talk to them, I got to know them and I came out of my shell and now the charity has finished, I am volunteering here ever Wednesday. I run coffee and tea mornings on my own and now I get to know the staff and residents
and I love coming here. I think it is a good experience to come here to volunteer or be on placement.

A very positive experience was had when visiting my auntie. All the staff were smiling, helpful and very engaging. My auntie is very happy and the fact she is able to have her pet cat in her room is a bonus. I had a conversation with the management who are very understanding of my auntie's needs. I
left feeling very happy and delighted she is a resident of such a fabulous and caring facility.

My nan has gone into Briarscroft for respite. She has settled so well she said it's better than her own home so she's staying. Always someone to speak to residents and staff. The staff are amazing, you walk in and the smiles and laughter it's like you walking into a welcome party, it's bright and welcoming
and the cleanliness smells so lovely not like the usual care home smell.
As soon as you walk there is a beautiful staircase. Special occasions are celebrated so lovely activities are constantly. I'm just so very happy and I can visit when I can, apart from meal times but I'm happy she can have her meals in peace and with her friends.
