Briarscroft has a team who are passionate about enriching the lives of their residents, with activities and experiences which bring them joy. Providing residential and dementia care, they also offer respite care breaks.

The community are embraced into life in the home, with regular visits from people who treat the residents to everything from Bollywood dancing and African drumming to gentle exercise sessions and live music.

Local school children regularly pop into the home, as does miniature Dachshund Herbert! The home also has two cats, a cockatiel and a budgie!

The residents enjoy trips out into the community, from the local shops to Planet Ice, where they can enjoy seasonal productions.

The team are passionate about supporting the residents to have a very active role to play in how their home is run, giving them a sense of purpose and belonging. There are a team of resident ambassadors, who do everything from interviewing potential staff and providing feedback, to welcoming new residents and their families to Briarscroft.

The beautiful gardens stretch all the way round the home and back onto Shard End Lake. With a potting shed, raised planters and wheelchair friendly pathways, they are the perfect spot to relax in the summer. This year the team and residents have loved growing their own tomatoes and herbs, harvesting them for the chef to use in the kitchen, giving them such a sense of achievement.

The home also has a cinema room, with a candyfloss and popcorn machine, a hair salon, for weekly appointments with a mobile hairdresser, and a bistro, which is a lovely spot to relax with loved ones, who are welcome at any time.

Briarscroft also has welcoming lounges and dining rooms, where residents enjoy delicious home-cooked meals, from roast dinners with all the trimmings to freshly baked cakes for afternoon tea, as well as regular cheese and wine evenings and homemade cocktails!

Our weekly fees are individual to each of our residents and are subject to a pre-admission assessment, which is required to understand the level of care and support needed. Our 2025 weekly care fees for residential care start from £1159 but may be in the region of 30% more*. This depends on your care needs and the type of bedroom that is right for you, from our standard rooms through to our premium bedroom options.

Mum is so happy at Briarscroft. There is a great feel to the place - hubbub as I call it. Things going on, people chatting. The staff are very caring and when I sit down with Mum for a coffee, she often says "I am very lucky to be here - I like it here". You can't ask for any more!

From the time you walk in, you are greeted by the staff who are positive and friendly. The residents seem relaxed in their environment given their medical conditions. It is a caring environment and the staff are very knowledgeable and non-intrusive.

My husband has moderate stages of Alzheimer's dementia and has settled very well into Briarscroft Care Home. The facilities are modern and spacious. Activities are arranged frequently for the residents, but there is no pressure on residents to participate if they do not wish to. There are ample "quiet
spaces", easily accessible for the residents. The focus is on their needs and staff are patient and flexible.The food is very good. My husband has recently suffered from UTIs (urinary tract infections) and the staff have responded quickly and obtained treatment from the GP.

My mum in law has been extremely well cared for in Briarscroft. Mum has become more social and has made friends. The staff are all without exception Great. Mum's quality of life has improved. The care home is always clean and the residents are all well fed. The food is varied and of a high quality.
Activities are good and we are encouraged to be part of these.

Briarscroft Residential Care Home is a caring and compassionate home where nothing is too much trouble. The staff are friendly and approachable and always willing to help. The tea room/bistro is a lovely welcome and enables us to spend time with Mom and have a snack at the same time. Mom is settled
and well cared for and seems very content and happy. We come away from the home knowing she is in capable hands.

The care for my Nan, now that she has been moved from the more advanced dementia side to the more mild side has been very good. The staff are all very friendly towards the family and Grandma. The woman on reception during the weekend is very lovely. She is such a kind and gentle woman and she is very

When we visit everything seems fine, my sister is cared for and happy in her own world of dementia. Staff are always polite and happy to answer any questions. As we travel a long way, a drink would be appreciated, but the home is here for my sister, not us.

All the staff on all levels cleaners, care workers, activities, reception and management have been very supportive over the past few months when my nan has been in and out of hospital sometimes due to workload but manage really well. Briarscroft Care Home is a bright happy place and everyone is always
made to feel welcome. Communication of "little" things could be better but this is a minor issue.

We are really pleased we transferred Mom from another care home to Briarscroft Residential Care Home. She has been happier and healthier since she moved here. Her accommodation, food and general care is much better. There also seems to be more activities to which she sometimes participates in. So we
