My Uncle has been resident at Pitcairn Lodge for a month, and I can honestly say his health and wellbeing have improved immensely.
I wasn't sure how he'd adapt, being naturally reserved, but he is happy and absolutely thriving in the warm and caring environment. All the staff are so friendly, and their gentle encouragement has persuaded my uncle to participate in the excellent range of activities and events on offer.

He's really enjoying the delicious, nutritional meals, and these have contributed to the improvement in his health. Housekeeping and maintenance staff ensure that the home is immaculate, and cleaned to a high professional standard. Every member of staff has been incredibly friendly and compassionate with a 'can do ' attitude. I knew as soon as I met Ruth and Elaine, that the residents welfare and happiness is their priority. In their leadership of the highly professional team, I have total confidence that my uncle is receiving the very best of care. Thank you !

I cannot praise the staff & running of Pitcairn highley enough. Every single staff member I have dealt with have been very professional, caring & mindful of mum (& dads) situation. There are countless activities to keep mum happy. The cleanliness is second to none, I couldn't fault a thing.

Overall, I find everyone to be very open, warm & nurturing. The management team are also very available & approachable at all times. It has really set my mind at ease knowing mum is so well cared for.

From the moment I met the Care Home Manager and Assistant Manager I was impressed with their level of knowledge and professionalism. The care home itself has obviously been through some decorative changes and I can tell there is likely some upgrades required.

However, my Dad has been there now for a month. I am very impressed with the level of care he has received. As a family we received great feedback from all staff. Nothing is a bother. There are lots of activities going on every week, which we can see all residents are encouraged to take part in. This has been an immense help for my Dad to settle. The staff also take great time to get to know the resident and tailor to the individual.

Mum has been in Pitcairn Lodge now for nearly a year. She is very happy there and as a family we continue to be more than satisfied with the care she receives. The staff interact very well with her and get her involved with lots of activities like outings and quizzes which she enjoys. Staff keep us up to date with any medical issues as they have arisen and have dealt with anything that has happened promptly. It is so nice to come in to visit mum to know she will be happy, smiley and content.

I was a bit nervous when taking my mum into Pitcairn Lodge Nursing Home to be a resident, but I needn't have worried as the staff were so supportive and compassionate during this time and put me and mum at ease straight away. Mum has settled in well and enjoying all the daily activities, gardening, walking, bingo, bus runs, and many more others. The staff are all obviously dedicated and mum refers to them as her friends which just shows how much work they put into getting to knowing mum. I feel mum is being very well cared for which in turn gives me great peace of mind.

My Mum has been at Pitcairn for just over a month now and she loves her room, it was great to personalise it as we wished. Mum was rather hesitant to join the great activities on offer, but it's so nice that the wonderful staff are encouraging Mum without pressure so she feels comfortable and well supported.
Mum had some medical issues not long after moving into Pitcairn Lodge, the nursing staff contacted her GP to address and change her medication, keeping me informed constantly, which was a huge relief.
The CareHome is very clean and meals are excellent, mum loves her cuppy and cakes too.

There's always a lot of laugher and 'buzz' from the Carers, which feels very uplifting when visiting.

My Dad moved into Pitcairn early December and although this was a huge change and adjustment for my family, I have been very happy with the service and care from Pitcairn. I live overseas so do find the distance and time difference a challenge but every time I call I am always met with informed and happy staff. My Dad is doing really well and settling in fine. Staff at Pitcairn, in particular Ruth, have been very good at listening to who my Dad is and understanding his needs as well as really getting to know him. Ruth has also taken the time to hold video calls with me to help with any initial worries or concern I had. I'm feeling very positive and much more content now knowing that my Dad is well cared for, well fed, safe and happy. Staff have even taken him out to purchase some treats and his newspaper that he loves seeing as I'm not there to be able to do that for him. I'm really feeling thankful that he is in a place like Pitcairn.

Overall Experience
Since moving into Pitcairn Lodge Nursing home at the end of December, my ex-husband is thriving due to the excellent care provided by all the staff. He had a slight dip following a short stay in hospital however he is now making huge progress. He had lost a significant amount of weight prior to becoming a resident as he wasn't eating but he is now gaining weight due to the varied and nutritious food served.
He had become very isolated so it's great to see him socialising with other residents and taking part in the innovative activities.
At times he can be stubborn and use inappropriate language which the staff just take with a pinch of salt. All the staff are kind, caring, friendly and have made such a difference to him. Before becoming a resident, both my son and I, were expecting the worst but my ex-husband is now more like the man he used to be which is all down to the level of care he is provided with.

Thank you all.

Since moving in to Pitcairn Lodge in December, my Mother-in-Law has been very well looked after. Her medical situation was immediately understood and taken in hand. The amount of personal care she now requires is being given to her. She is very happy and comfortable with the accommodation. The social and activities programme in the home is fantastic as it has already improved her energy levels (the lovely food also helos in this respect), increased the amount of interaction with others and got her singing again. All of this means that her well-being has been greatly improved in such a short time. The staff at Pitcairn Lodge are very kind people and obviously care about the residents.

We would like to express our sincere thanks as a family to Pitcairn Nursing Home.
The staff in The Larch ward were outstanding with the care Vic received. They were all genuine
and caring towards him and we were overwhelmed with their compassion & support during Vic's 2 years of staying there.
Although Vic could not always get involved due to his condition, the Entertainment & Outings they laid on for the residents was enjoyable for all.

Thank you Pitcairn for everything.

The staff at Larch Wing provided loving care for Michael my Father.
The compassionate care, kindness, patience and support brought comfort to him and peace to our family. We will always be grateful for the dignity and warmth shown during a difficult time.

N.B. Pitcairn management was excellent but Sanctuary Care Finance Department extremely unhelpful.

I just want to say a massive thank you to all the staff at Pitcairn this week and especially over the last 2 days when my mum was receiving end of life care. ( there are literally too many names to mention individually) but as a family we are especially grateful to Nika the nurse on duty at the time of her passing, who was with her and kept her comfortable to the end. All the staff have been sympathetic, empathetic, supportive and couldn't do enough for us from making cups of tea, sandwiches, bringing in chairs, and even a sofa bed to stay overnight if we wished. All our questions were answered and we were given reassurance when we most needed it. It is clear that all the staff in Pitcairn not only care about the residents but their families as well. They have eased our passage through this extremely sad and difficult time in every way. We really can't thank you all enough.
