Heathlands Residential Care Home

Heathlands was recommended to us by a neighbour. Her Mum had been a Heathlands resident for a year before she passed away and our neighbour couldn't have been happier with the care her Mum had received.

Prior to becoming unwell and needing hospital care my Mum had lived with us and we were not expecting to be unable to meet her care needs at home. Therefore residential care was a shock and unplanned. The Heathlands Team guided us through the process and we are so grateful.

From initial contact meeting and home show around we were made to feel so welcome.

Heathlands is homely, warm and caring. Mum has thrived at Heathlands. The food is absolutely excellent, activities in and out of the home are arranged and Mum is happy. They even hold fine dining evenings for family and freinds. Of course, Mum would prefer not to require 24 hour care but the Heathlands Team have made this transition very easy for all, particularly Mum.

All the staff have been a source of comfort and help to me over the 3 years, and most definitely on 26/. My sincere thanks go to each and every one of them. Thank you.

The team were really friendly and communicative. Dad had his ups and down days. Maybe the only thing would of been to have organised garden time for Dad as he loves the outdoors, so I think that's the only thing he really struggled with.

My mother was a resident at Heathlands for almost two years. Her time in the care there was excellent. Staff very friendly and always very attentive and cheerful. Each and every staff member had a wonderful quality of care with all residents. For Mum, Shaun was always one of her favourites, he would make her laugh and make her smile, always going that extra mile even when she had her pensioner moments. Thank you to all the staff, this became her home. She passed away on 04/12/2025. She would have been 100 in June.

Mum was adament she would never go into a care home but when she could no longer live safely at home and had been neglecting herself there was no other choice. She was really unwell when she first became a resident and we thought she had given up. In just over a week of moving in she began to perk up, put on weight and got her sparkle back. All the staff from receptionists, clinical leads and manager are outstanding, kind and caring and always professional. Sadly mum's illness progressed and in the last months she needed more care. The staff did everything to keep her pain free and comfortable, they always found time to reassure us, as we all live some distance away this helped us cope with mum's decline. I would not hesitate to recommend this home, mum really became part of the family and never complained about anything ...... and she was the kind of lady who would have if there had been any problems.

Very friendly, helpful staff. Superb food - really excellent. I will be back.

It felt like home from home. Everyone was very friendly and caring. I didn't need a lot of attention as I was in for respite care, but I was allowed my independence and help was there if needed. We were well fed.

We are so grateful that she is safe and content, retaining some independence in her en-suite room, whilst receiving the levels of care that she now needs. From the Coronavirus pandemic to this year's extreme heat, staff continue to be remarkable in their ability to cope with additional pressures and still ensure the wellbeing of residents. They have also got to know us very well, as her son and daughter in law, and always show us kindness and consideration. They're never too busy too listen. Thank you!

The friendliness of all the staff is unmatched and it feels as though mum has an even bigger family now. As her daughter living 120 miles away it's a comfort to know that mum is so well cared for. I enjoy my weekly visits too!

Thank you so much for looking after my mother for the past two weeks. Last time she was at Heathlands, there were one or two issues which I mentioned 25.11.24 - 12.12.24, but I am delighted to say you went out of your way to resolve those. Again, thank you. She had a lovely stay and will be back again in July.

Overall I'm very happy with the care that my husband is receiving at Heathlands. While most staff are absolutely wonderful, I have witnessed a few occasions when some staff have displayed a lack of understanding of dementia and inadequate communication with dementia residents. Possibly a lack of training. In an ideal world there would be a higher staffing level, but I realise that we're not living in an ideal world

After a reluctant decision to come, everyone has been very good to me. Everything has been very good from the start to the end. It's been very relaxing.

A complete overall experience at Heathlands Residential Care Home, we been using for respite. The person who is going for a week at a time, like that much have stay for just day care. He like the foods, staff, facilities and the whole package that is offering. We are now in the process of asking for more day care, introducing him slowly into full care. We have no worries, it's top star from us. We had few issue, but they were dealt with straight away. We are very happy customers.

care this time last year but is happy and thriving since moving in to Heathlands. She takes part in the daily activities and has made friends. I honestly cannot rate the staff highly enough.

Overall, I am very happy with the home. My mum was not keen on the idea at first but the care staff have been lovely with her and she enjoys the their company. Mostly she is very content, although she is currently unhappy because she is not allowed to feed the birds.

We can't thank the staff enough for keeping Dad safe and looking after not just his health but mental well-being.

Mum has been in Heathlands twice now for respite. I have been delighted by the care she has received. The staff are great, really make you feel welcome. Mum enjoys the food, baths, and company. She is booked in again soon.
