Heathland is a very friendly and supportive place. The staff have all been helpful both with regard to my queries and in supporting my mother. The food is generally very good, particularly the homemade cakes.

When activities are available these have been week thought out and Mum enjoys them. The environment is very clean and unlike many homes is no underlying smell. I love the fact that there is a resident cat and so does Mum.

Very attentive and helpful - no complaints. Allowed freedom to go down into the town or to visit family. Food is great (especially catering for a vegetarian). Bedroom is large and cleaned on an almost daily basis. Staff are friendly and happy to chat.

All the family are amazed at how well Mum is. She was on death's door just after Christmas and had virtually given up. With the care that Heathlands has provided she has made an astonishing turn around we are so grateful to all the staff at Heathlands.

Our mum has been with Heathlands for over 2 1/2 years. A culture shock for her and us, going in under Covid restrictions. My main concern in the early days was the TV remote kept disappearing so I sorted that one out. But more seriously it's hard for me to understand how my mum's carers do what they do, both the boys and girls have their work cut out for them, thank you.

Overall Experience

My father-in-law has been in Heathlands for almost 2 years and is very happy there. It was his choice to enter care and has not had any regrets. We have been impressed by the ethos of care that is clearly evident in the home and is shown by each staff member. He has been cared for during a spell of illness and COVID. The home suffered the lack of a manager for a while but still functioned seamlessly. With a new team in place it seems it will go from strength to strength. Activities are good, there is entertainment from time to time. Food is excellent and the team members regularly go the extra mile to see residents have the best care possible.

Overall happy. I resent not being able to get in, and out, of the front door when visiting at weekends. At times, I can be waiting several minutes to get out. Please man reception!

Activities are lacking. Staff need a staff room. They sit in the lounges on their breaks and I feel uncomfortable disturbing them. Lack of staff.

Thank you for your review. We apologise you’ve experienced a wait during the weekends. Loved ones are welcome at any time and some periods are busier than others, so please bear with us. Mum has been very settled and made to feel very welcome by all staff at Heathlands Residential Care Home. Mum has gained weight and loves all her meals and cups of tea throughout the day. I found it incredibly hard to give up my caring for Mum but Heathlands staff supported me alongside Mum. I would love, in time, for her to have a bedroom downstairs but that is a minor matter in the scheme of things.

Mum is happy, loves chatting to all the staff and my family cannot thank you all enough.

From the day my son and I came to discuss the possibility of my having two weeks stay while my live-in carer had her leave I was impressed by the air of warmth and welcome. All the staff are caring and helpful and they assist whenever I need them in washing and dressing. They encourage me to walk with my zimmer whenever possible. Knowing my ability to walk is very difficult but must be encouraged. Should I need respite again I very much hope that will be possible here in Heathlands Residential Care Home. I apologise to my writing.

I was apprehensive about Dad going in to a home after our experience with my mum and dad would be moving from Birmingham to Pershore. I needn't have been he is very well cared for 24 hours a day, his room is lovely, food is lovely too and staff are super caring, professional and friendly. Thank you Heathlands.

The support my mum and my family receive is fantastic.
I am always being asked how I am and listened to if needed. Any situations that occur with mum are acted on and discussed, always looking for a solution and being pro-active.
Recently a support group has been set up again following covid restrictions. It really helped to talk and be listened to by people who understand. Advice given and any additional help to be looked into.

Thank you Heathlands!

How I feel, like a weight lifted from my shoulders knowing mum is safe and cared for.
Mum had pneumonia and was taken to hospital, after two weeks the specialist told me she was bed bound and would need a nursing home. Within two days of being back at Heathlands the carers had her up and walking around with the aid of a walker.

Your team did that! Thank you.

Dad has been here for 3 months and settled in straight away. He is very happy and content. We are very impressed with every aspect.

Staff go out of their way to help the residents. Nothing seems to be too much trouble. A strong ethos of care pervades from the very top downwards. A safety concern was dealt with immediately. We always feel welcome and are impressed that there are activities and things of interest for the residents to do. We cannot praise the staff highly enough - and their platinum jubilee celebrations were a triumph.
