All staff are supportive to the family. Communication is excellent and we are kept informed about Dad's care and condition.

Mother also still visits and staff's understanding towards her anxieties, worries and emotions has been amazing, especially during Covid 19.

First of all, I must say a big thank you to all staff at the care home for everything, the care they have given in keeping my mum safe in these difficult times has not been easy for any of them, and I am so grateful to them all. As things lifted on visiting, I was able to see her a couple of weeks ago, and she looks so well. It is not easy to fill in as I haven't been to her room for 12-months, but I do phone every week. If there is any problem or the staff need to let me know anything, they phone me or send me information by post.

My husband has been a resident for just over 12-months. In that time, his care has been excellent. Staff are supportive to me as well as him, and any contact is polite and helpful. Every aspect of his care is provided in a professional and kindly manner. Special mention for during Covid, regular FaceTimes and visits if possible. A really well run, friendly care home.

Mum is happy where she is and has been for the past 3 years. The home is clean, bright and always smells fresh. The carers are attentive, patient and kind. Whenever I speak to mum she tells me she is comfortable and content where she is and well cared for.

My Dad has dementia and has been in the care of Heathlands since November 2019 as a resident. The staff are all so kind, and I can be assured of the best care for Dad. During the covid pandemic, I have been assured of their practices to keep out the virus.

Review from Robert S (Son of Resident) published on 28 January 2020 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Mum, who is in her 90's and unwilling to do simple matters for herself, can be challenging and tends to be reluctant to make requests to the staff about a number of matters whilst being very vocal about others.
The staff are kind and interact well with Mum but it is disappointing to find that they have not observed or taken action to ensure that her personal appearance, including that her fingernails are cut and cleaned regularly, is as good as it could be.
Mum chooses to remain in bed and it is disappointing to observe that her chair and bathroom have become places to store care equipment creating a poor impression for Mum and visitors.

Sadly the furniture and floor are routinely dirty when I visit.

I visit my mum once or twice weekly, not any particular day and always find her happy and contented. She knows my fave and this is so with other visitors also although she struggles with names. Despite this, myself and my family (sisters) chat with each other about mum and feel very positive with everything. Mum has lived here for over a year now and has improved immensely both mentally and physically, she has put on much-needed weight and does not worry like before. Many thanks to Heathlands.

I have "peace of mind" that my mother is being well looked after. The staff are all friendly and caring for her needs.
The activities are well worth attending for both my mum and me as a visitor.

I am always greeted with a smile and communication about my mother's welfare is always past onto me.

Staff are kind and friendly to all residents and visitors, there is a homely atmosphere. Food is good and plentiful. I would like to see more use make of the garden and a wider range of activities with more that appeal to male residents, e.g. sport related.

Like all residents in the home when you are greeted, I wanted to go home. But when friends arrive they are very happy with the situation all around. What I like is I am on first name terms with the staff and the manager who I can speak to at any time. Staff help pull patients out of depressive moods which is very helpful. What I do like is the interchangeability with different sections, hence staff get to know patients, by first names and location and the flexibility. On the whole, this home is run efficiently with very little problems on our part.

Continue to be pleased with the standard of care my mother receives.
However difficult the circumstances, the carers always deal with the situation in a caring and remarkably patient manner.

My mother's needs are always met and she is treated as an individual with her own needs, preferences and problems. The home and my mother's room are always clean and tidy. Food prepared to a high standard - plenty of choice.

My mother has been living in Heathlands for a year and a half now and she is settled and happy there.
The atmosphere is friendly and caring and the staff have a really caring attitude and endless patience with her - and that includes all the staff.
Now 98 years old, the dementia has wiped out most of her memory now, but I know she is safe and secure at Heathlands.

My thanks to everyone working there.
