View Full Details of Heathlands Residential Care HomeFrom our first enquiry to the final days, the team at Heathlands have been amazing. The whole team - managers, admin, team leaders and care staff, catering, domestic and maintenance, activities coordinator - made us feel welcome and part of the family. So many fun times and quality life experiences. When the sensitive times came, we were able to trust in the advice given and call upon the wealth of experience among the staff team to guide and reassure us. When I think about Heathlands, the staff team and the last ten months they have been part of our lives, I smile, even at a sad time, there were so many happy memories and encouraging conversations. The only words to describe them all - friendly, caring, patient, professional, compassionate and knowledgeable. Thank you to them all x
Heathlands is providing Mum with the sociable, caring environment that she thrives from. Mum came to Heathlands initially as a respite resident in September '24 and quickly switched to being a permanent resident. She has a wonderful, light, comfortable room that she has made her own and joins in all the activities and mini bus trips. She loves the food and has been sleeping really well since moving in. The friendliness of all the staff is unmatched and it feels as though mum has an even bigger family now. As her daughter living 120 miles away it's a comfort to know that mum is so well cared for. I enjoy my weekly visits too!
Thank you so much for looking after my mother for the past two weeks. Last time she was at Heathlands, there were one or two issues which I mentioned 25.11.24 - 12.12.24, but I am delighted to say you went out of your way to resolve those. Again, thank you. She had a lovely stay and will be back again in July.
Overall I'm very happy with the care that my husband is receiving at Heathlands. While most staff are absolutely wonderful, I have witnessed a few occasions when some staff have displayed a lack of understanding of dementia and inadequate communication with dementia residents. Possibly a lack of training. In an ideal world there would be a higher staffing level, but I realise that we're not living in an ideal world
After a reluctant decision to come, everyone has been very good to me. Everything has been very good from the start to the end. It's been very relaxing.
A complete overall experience at Heathlands Residential Care Home, we been using for respite. The person who is going for a week at a time, like that much have stay for just day care. He like the foods, staff, facilities and the whole package that is offering. We are now in the process of asking for more day care, introducing him slowly into full care. We have no worries, it's top star from us. We had few issue, but they were dealt with straight away. We are very happy customers.
I am thrilled with the standard of care my Mum is receiving. She is happy, well cared for and respected by the staff. She was in end of life care this time last year but is happy and thriving since moving in to Heathlands. She takes part in the daily activities and has made friends. I honestly cannot rate the staff highly enough.
Such a very nice place staff very friendly and efficient. Superb food.
Overall, I am very happy with the home. My mum was not keen on the idea at first but the care staff have been lovely with her and she enjoys the their company. Mostly she is very content, although she is currently unhappy because she is not allowed to feed the birds.
Dad is a permanent resident of Heathlands. When Dad moved into Heathlands of his own choice because he had been very ill and not safe or happy living at home where he was lonely and debilitated he was not only weak but not at all well! All of the staff have looked after him so well that he has put on weight, joins in with activities, walks with a frame, likes his home and embraces his new routine. We can't thank the staff enough for keeping Dad safe and looking after not just his health but mental well-being.
Mum has been in Heathlands twice now for respite. I have been delighted by the care she has received. The staff are great, really make you feel welcome. Mum enjoys the food, baths, and company. She is booked in again soon.
3 years ago, my mum was having a really difficult time coping with life due to a dementia diagnosis. She was fortunate enough to be given a place at Heathlands Residential Care Home. Since moving into Heathlands, mum has become healthier, happier and is living life to the fullest. She is the happiest that I have seen her in a very long time. The rooms are clean and cosy. The main areas of Heathlands are clean and do not have the care home smell that some homes have. The staff are amazing and approachable. Nothing is too much for them. My daughter and I certainly appreciate ALL that they do.
Heathland is a very friendly and supportive place. The staff have all been helpful both with regard to my queries and in supporting my mother. The food is generally very good, particularly the homemade cakes. When activities are available these have been week thought out and Mum enjoys them. The environment is very clean and unlike many homes is no underlying smell. I love the fact that there is a resident cat and so does Mum.
Very attentive and helpful - no complaints. Allowed freedom to go down into the town or to visit family. Food is great (especially catering for a vegetarian). Bedroom is large and cleaned on an almost daily basis. Staff are friendly and happy to chat.
Both myself and my father were happy with his weeks of respite care and looking forward to returning.
All the family are amazed at how well Mum is. She was on death's door just after Christmas and had virtually given up. With the care that Heathlands has provided she has made an astonishing turn around we are so grateful to all the staff at Heathlands.
I haven't felt so relaxed and well cared for in a very long time. I feel I'm surrounded with love and kindness.
As a wife of a resident, I know Heathlands well. So when I had to have surgery I booked myself for 2 weeks respite. The care and attention I received were really excellent. The chef and kitchen went out of their way to accommodate the special diet I had to have. As I already knew most of the team, it was like being looked after at home. I would not hesitate to recommend Heathlands for resident or respite care.
Very new experience for our mother who has moved her nursing home due to financial reasons but Heathlands seems to be very homely and friendly staff with lovely surroundings.
Our mum has been with Heathlands for over 2 1/2 years. A culture shock for her and us, going in under Covid restrictions. My main concern in the early days was the TV remote kept disappearing so I sorted that one out. But more seriously it's hard for me to understand how my mum's carers do what they do, both the boys and girls have their work cut out for them, thank you.
