  • Care Homes Owned by Sanctuary Care Ltd
Sanctuary Care was first established in 1995 to provide older people with a range of high-quality care services, including residential, dementia and nursing care.

Part of Sanctuary Group, which is an exempt charity, Sanctuary Care has over 110 homes across England and Scotland. They are proud to be a not-for-profit organisation meaning the surplus made by Sanctuary Care is reinvested into the business which allows them to provide residents with excellent standards of care from well managed and well-maintained homes.

They believe in going above and beyond to enrich people's lives - whether that's residents, their loved ones or staff.

For residents, Sanctuary Care looks at what makes every person unique, the people close to their hearts, their passions and dreams yet to be fulfilled, and the continuity of living they need to feel content, happy and fulfilled. Knowing all of this enables the teams to deliver truly person-centred care to each and every individual who lives in the homes.

My experience of Aashna House has been exceptional. My mother in law, who suffers from Dementia is well cared for. The staff are understanding and treat their residents with respect and ensure their wellbeing with patience and dignity. Recently mum was hospitalised and her return to the home was smooth
and the manager was very understanding of mums needs and very helpful in ensuring that mum is well cared for and ensure her speedy recovery. Overall we cannot fault this home. Highly recommended.

Wantage Residential and Nursing Home

from Nigel S (Son of Resident) published on 2 April 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I visited a few local care homes on behalf of my dad a little while ago and the lady on reception that day took time to show us around even though we hadn't made an appointment. She was very welcoming and told us all that we wanted to know. The manager phoned with a follow up call a few days later which
was thoughtful and informative. When it was time for my dad to move to a home, I had no hesitation in choosing this one. It was a good decision. The staff are professional and kind. The care is first class. My dad has been very happy and felt safe and cared for.
Strongly recommend. There are lots of activities and support is never far away.
Reply from Kate Czeczko, Business Development Manager at Wantage Residential and Nursing HomeThank you so much for sharing your experience. We're really pleased to hear that your dad has settled so well and feels safe, happy, and well cared for. Different care home suit the needs of different people but this one is fantastic for my dad . I have never known as clean a home & the overall care for my dad has been great. My dad actually thinks he is in a hotel. He really enjoys the food & company. He doesn't get involved in any activities which
there are plenty but my dad has always only ever worked & playef football. He has been settled since the day he went in 3years agi & for that I'm very thankful

What stands
out most is the level of compassion shown by the entire team. They take the time to get to know each resident personally, ensuring everyone feels valued, comfortable, and safe. It's clear that the wellbeing of residents is always the top priority.

The home itself is clean, bright, and well-maintained, creating a pleasant and homely environment. Residents are encouraged to take part in a wide range of activities, helping them stay engaged, active, and socially connected.

Only criticism is carparking is very limited and not in the best condition.

I would highly recommend this care home to anyone looking for a supportive, compassionate, and professional environment for their family member.

Barony Lodge Residential Care Home

We were naturally anxious and apprehensive about moving mum into care. Barony Lodge couldn't have been kinder, more supportive or more helpful. They listened and understood our concerns then bent over backwards to make mum feel comfortable and at ease. The staff are beyond amazing, They're cheerful,
helpful, kind and caring, literally nothing is too much trouble, The food is excellent, the menu varied but if there's nothing on the menu you like they will find you something else. Barony Lodge is spotlessly clean, like a 5 star hotel. We didn't think mum would settle and had contingency plans in place but she is very happy. There are many and varied activities if residents want to join in but equally they are encouraged to choose and be independent. I can't recommend Barony Lodge highly enough.

My mother has been resident here for over four years. Throughout that time she has received exemplary care from all who work at Barony Lodge. The staff treat her with gentleness, respect and kindness. We could not have wished for a better experience. Although bed bound now, she still enjoys her one-to-one
time with carers, who go out of their way to make her feel included in the care home life. She is always dressed nicely, the standard of cleanliness is excellent, and catering staff make a real effort to make sure she has her favourite foods to encourage her to eat her meals.

I have nothing but praise for Barony Lodge - from all the friendly welcoming professional staff to the quality of the accommodation and the excellent food. My parents moved there on a respite basis in January but my dad has since sadly passed away. My mum decided to become a long term resident and is
very happy there. The staff are so caring and nothing is too much trouble. There are a wide range of activities available to everyone including trips out. Our family are confident that mum is in safe hands and we feel reassured that help is there if needed.

My father entered Briarscroft Residential Care Home in April 2024 as a short term emergency placement. He remained there, until his death in December 2025. During his time at Briarscroft, my Dad was looked after with the utmost respect and care. He adored the staff and this was genuinely mutual.
I cannot thank the staff enough for the way they helped Dad to settle in, adapt in a very difficult and unexpected situation. He was admitted to Heartlands Hospital in December as an "end of life" patient. However, he waited until he got home to Briarscroft for his last few hours. They took care of him with the most genuine love and affection anyone could hope for a loved one. Thank you again for your commitment.

Yarnton Residential and Nursing Home

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My husband has been in Yarnton over 12 months. I went check the place out without an appointment, it was undergoing major refurbishments and upon being shown around I was impressed. Carers were sitting with residents whilst they were having drinks and biscuits, others had visitors. I made arrangements
to take my husband there. He is very content, treated with respect and dignity, he receives regular medical visits from the doctor if required. His medication is monitored and administered. Carers sit and chat with him, bathe him, shave him. He has a podiatrist visit to look after his feet, and he regularly goes into the hairdresser on site. There are also entertainments available, family days, a home from home. I feel totally secure in the knowledge that he is being looked after. You always think that no one can look after your loved one as well as you. But I know I cannot look after my husband in the way Yarnton Care Home does. When I go I am a wife having time with her husband.

My father moved to Regent in Oct'25 - firstly for respite care. It soon became apparent that his care needs were such that he would need to become permanent. His time at Regent has been a happy time and it became clear very quickly that he had settled. Sadly for the last three weeks of his life he was
quite confused at times and became quite ill. The care given to him and to us as a family was fantastic - so caring of us all. I'll be grateful forever. Thank you.

My Dad has now been a resident in Forefaulds for almost 4 years. From the moment we placed my Dad in here we knew it was definitely the right decision and the right care home for him to be in. The caring & warm friendly team of staff took time to get to know not only my Dad but us too as a family,
he was encouraged to join in the many activities go on days out, and the staff took time to know his likes and dislikes and how to be with him when he was upset.
There is always someone to have a chat with and we are kept updated at all times on my Dad. The staff are just amazing and its reassuring knowing he is in good hands.

My father has been within Greenslades Nursing Home for the last 3 years. I can honestly say, this was the best move he ever had!. Where he came from was awful & he was abused. I was dubious about the move, but from the minute he arrived, friendly welcoming staff from the second we got him in, made me
realise that this was the right place for him. Meghanne the manager is absolutely fantastic, creating lots of games to keep them stimulated & most of all enjoyable for them all, plus all the other hard work she provides behind the scenes. The reception staff,Richard & Peter are also lovely & always a pleasure to be greated by these 2 as you walk in. As for the care staff...I take my hat off!. They are all made for this job. The passion, care & dedication they all put into looking after all of the residents is second to none!. From personal care to spending quality time with them. I know my father is in extremely safe hands & that means a lot. Emsx
