  • Care Homes Owned by Sanctuary Care Ltd
Sanctuary Care was first established in 1995 to provide older people with a range of high-quality care services, including residential, dementia and nursing care.

Part of Sanctuary Group, which is an exempt charity, Sanctuary Care has over 110 homes across England and Scotland. They are proud to be a not-for-profit organisation meaning the surplus made by Sanctuary Care is reinvested into the business which allows them to provide residents with excellent standards of care from well managed and well-maintained homes.

They believe in going above and beyond to enrich people's lives - whether that's residents, their loved ones or staff.

For residents, Sanctuary Care looks at what makes every person unique, the people close to their hearts, their passions and dreams yet to be fulfilled, and the continuity of living they need to feel content, happy and fulfilled. Knowing all of this enables the teams to deliver truly person-centred care to each and every individual who lives in the homes.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My lovely wife and soul mate was admitted to the Laurels nursing home when the council decided to close down several homes in their possession, so my wife was transferred to the Laurels, she had later stages of dementia, and was treated like part of the family there, all of the staff were absolutely
brilliant in the understanding of this horrible disease and I thank them all from the bottom of my heart for all of their kindness and dedication to their jobs, they looked after all of my family when we were visiting, I would thoroughly recommend this home

My beautiful mum has been at the laurels for a short period of 5 months. Whilst mum was there she suffered terribly with dementia.
My mum was always treated with the upmost respect and dignity that she deserved.
Without the staff here my mums last few weeks would not have been the same.
From our
family, we would like to share our deepest thanks from the bottom of our hearts.
This home definitely deserves 10/10.
Well done staff at this wonderful home and thank you xxxxx

Upton Dene Residential and Nursing Home

from S C (Friend of Resident) published on 28 May 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My neighbour Derek and his wife Muriel moved into Upton Dene in March 2023 as they were too old to care for themselves. They were happy there and found the lounges and decor was like a hotel, with plenty of staff to care for them. They joined in with activities, Muriel played bingo and Derek liked the
singing and the visits from the Veterans association. They enjoyed the food as it was tasty and nicely presented with flowers on the table. Muriel passed away in September 2024 and Derek on 11th January 2026. I had chosen the home for them when Derek came out of hospital. They had to be house on separate floors as Muriel needed extra care but they met regularly. Sadly I have had dealings with three other care homes and this one was far the best. The staff made me welcome when I visited and worked hard. It is not an easy job
Reply from Jacob Hardie, Design and Marketing Assistant at Upton Dene Residential and Nursing HomeThank you for sharing such heartfelt feedback. Lime Tree Court Residential Care Home

from Deborah B (Daughter of Resident) published on 26 May 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Dad sadly passed away at the beginning of April after a brief hospital stay, but his time at Lime Tree has been so very precious. He was loved and cared for right to the end, with his favourite staff coming to support him and myself in his final hours at the hospital. During the 18 months dad was a
resident, the staff and management worked some magic, adapting their approaches when needed to better meet his complex needs. He was a unique character and we were lucky to have such a wonderful group of people to carry us and give us hope during some challenging times. Lime Tree is a place of warmth and has a family atmosphere. The staff brought the sunshine to my dad and greatly improved his mental health. We have been so lucky to be part of the Lime Tree community and feel that we found the very best care home in the area. My dad deserved the best and we cannot fault any aspect of the care that he was given.
Reply from Jacob Hardie, Design and Marketing Assistant at Lime Tree Court Residential Care HomeThank you for sharing such a heartfelt tribute. It was a real privilege to support your dad and be part of your family's journey. We're so pleased Lime Tree Court felt like a welcoming, family place and that the care and kindness shown made such a positive difference.

Speaking for all my family I think the care and support that my brother-in-law David received during his stay and during his sad passing we would like to say a big thank you to all the management and staff. We couldn't have received any better care and love anywhere.

Overall I am happy with the care my mother receives from Peel Gardens. She has been in the home for nearly 6 years. Staff are always helpful, caring and informative. They treat my mother with the dignity she deserves. Although I have nothing to compare this home with because she was admitted during
covid. I can only go off how my mother appears. She was in a poor state physically and mentally upon arrival. She now appears content and generally looks well cared for. If I have any issues they are dealt with appropriately.

Mum has had a 3 month respite stay whilst we have been carrying out extensive work on her house to adapt it to her future needs.
Whilst she was a little nervous before going to stay I have to say I am very pleased about how much she had enjoyed her time there. She has made friends with both staff and
residents and has enjoyed exceptional care.
The staff are kind and sussed out her needs very quickly. They helped her socialise and have ensured she enjoys activities. She has enjoyed the food and I am sure will visit the friends she has made when she leaves.

My mum was taken seriously ill in April and was rushed to hospital. The staff at Upton Dene supported us throughout, helped liaise with hospital staff to make sure mums needs were addressed and in place on her return and mum was genuinely welcomed back with huge smiles and relief. The care given to
us as a family and my mum in particular was superb, as always.

We did a lot of research choosing the right care home for a family member. Dalby Court was the chosen one and we hoped that a room would be available. The first time we left him there he looked a little bit confused. The next morning we went to visit him and we felt that this is his home. Within a few
weeks his health and well-being have improved, he is happy and content. You are always welcomed cheerfully and politely. The staff and management are caring and very friendly. The building and grounds are kept up to a high standard and there is a daily programme of activities. The food and menus are excellent.

My first contact with Dalby Court was on the phone and it was so friendly, professional and informative. That phone contact assured me that it was a caring care home and encouraged the initial visit. From the moment we walked through the door and were greeted, we got the feeling of warmth. Each staff
member showed kindness, smiles, compassion and genuine interest. We were shown around the full home, absolutely everything felt good. The home was clean, the residents looked happy and looked after, TVs were on, music, it was very homely, hence we chose Dalby Court. Our family member settled in straightaway and that became his safe, happy home.

Fantastic support when moving Jill in which was a difficult time as Jill has dementia. The staff were wonderful, Reena, Anna and the team have made Jill feel welcome and she is very happy here. We have had great support when difficulties arose, not sleeping in bed, pressures sores, water retention have
all been addressed and resolved. Even welcome visits from our Cockerpoos (Harvey).

Thank you

I cannot thank the wonderful care and nursing staff at St Martin's enough. The attention, care and compassion all the staff give to my Dad everyday is simply outstanding. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they genuinely care that my Dad is comfortable and happy. They even go above and beyond
to make sure myself and my family when visiting are okay, so that we can spend quality time with Dad now that he is under palliative care. I will forever be thankful to all the staff here for all they have done for my Dad and my family.

My aunt moved into Lammas House in February 2020 immediately prior to the Covid 19 restrictions coming into place. We do not live locally and our aunt has no other relatives to care for her so it was literally a lifesaver for her.
She has lived there since very contentedly and the care she has received
has been first class. The staff are wonderful and contact us immediately if there is any need to do so which gives us great peace of mind.
The home itself is maintained impeccably and the thought that goes into the activities for the residents is fantastic.
Our heartfelt thanks go out to all of the wonderful staff.

From Initial enquiry at company main number to Lammas house management we have had a great 1st impression. We had very speedy arrangement to look around and answer all our questions. After home assessment we were offered a place for my mother in law . The staff in home are all very welcoming and her
Key worker is lovely. The range of activities is varied and quite inclusive. The Handyman Shane was amazing and on hand instantly as we got room ready for my Mother on law and hung all her pictures. By the the time ( 2hrs ) we bought my MIL to her room it looked very homely . She is a very independent lady and at 93 still likes to keep some level of independence but staff on hand to offer assistance which she really does require now . Food is excellent from what ive seen and chef communicates with residents and I hear him telling them what he cooked for them
There is regular Tea and cake rounds and always offer a cuppa to visitors too. Ran out of words! Only downside is not a good bed
