The team at East Park Court are devoted to enriching the lives of their residents. Providing residential and dementia care, they also offer respite care breaks, which can be booked in advance.

The residents have an active role to play in how their home is run, from welcoming potential residents and their families, to providing feedback on everything from the activities to the menu.

They enjoy a wide variety of activities, from live musical entertainment to animal visits, with everything from hedgehogs and puppies, to tortoises and rabbits. The home also has its own dog, a King Charles Cavalier called Dexter, whom the residents adore.

Residents enjoy pub lunches and trips out shopping, visits from local school children, as well as performances by local theatre and music groups, and the local church choir.

Loved ones are embraced into life in the home and join in with so many activities and outings. They also love to take part in community events, like this summer’s Crufts Show, as well as summer and Christmas fetes.

And there are also outings to enjoy. This summer the residents enjoyed a trip to West Midland Safari Park, followed by trips to the Sealife Centre in Birmingham and Cosford Air Museum.

There are lots of wonderful spaces to enjoy in the home, with welcoming lounges, a vintage café and a hair salon, for weekly appointments with a mobile hairdresser and pampering sessions.

The residents’ bedrooms have ensuite wet rooms. Some of the bedrooms also have patio doors leading to the secure gardens.

In the dining rooms, residents enjoy nutritious home-cooked meals, from roast dinners with all the trimmings, to fish and chip Fridays, and home baking for afternoon tea.

My mother-in-law is so happy at East Park Court she always has a smile on her face. The care she receives is second to none, she recently had a couple of episodes that she found hard to cope with because of her dementia she was so well looked after the staff were considerate , understanding and attentive.
I had no concerns she was in good hands . I cannot praise all the staff enough they all do a fabulous job. Thankyou

The care my mom has received has been outstanding since she went there in November 2024. Nothing is too much trouble, her room is lovely and clean. The meals provided are excellent. If there is ever a problem, I am kept up to date. The Activities Coordinator is excellent. My mom has been taken out a
few times to Memory Cafes and really enjoyed it. She enjoys the activities at the home which they provide. It is lovely when I visit my mom to see how happy she is and when I leave, there are no tears. Happy mom, Happy Daughter.

The staff are the most caring and compassionate people that are in the caring profession. In my time of desperation in need for a respite place they bent over backwards to help me. The district nurse in Walsall, Wolverhampton, GP etc were brilliant. I hope and pray that when I need respite again there
will be a place for my husband.

East Park Court is a friendly, clean, well-run care home. Due to my father's health means that someday he will require a little more attention and assistance. All the management team, day, and night carers go above and beyond to help him. All the residents are happy and enjoy their daily activities.
I and my family wish to give our special thanks to the staff for their patience, dignity and kindness shown to our father during the 2 weeks due to his health. Thank you all at East Park Court.

I would like to thank very much all the staff in all areas at East Park Court Care Home. My dad came straight from hospital for temporary care over a month ago now. The care, thoughtfulness, and support for all my dad's needs has been fantastic. They treat him like family. My dad and myself are always
treated with kindness and nothing is too much trouble, with staff going out of their way to help with anything. I am truly, sincerely grateful for such a pleasant home and the wonderful staff, whom I feel are now our friends.

On the whole, quite happy.
Some staff are more patient/caring than others.
Food is okay, not many evening options. Mainly sandwiches.
Cleanliness sometimes lacking but not overly concerned.
Repairs seem to take forever.
But, generally can't really complain to much and think the majority do their
best.

I wanted to share my experience of East Park Court care home because my father (never really known for his praise of others) told me last week just how well he is being cared for. His actual words were, "I couldn't possibly be looked after any better, anywhere else". Fine praise indeed after almost
2 years at the home. Certainly, my experience echoes his words. Whenever staff have come into the room while I'm visiting, it's been clear that nothing is too much trouble for them. They genuinely do care about the residents. Dad loves the food and the only complaint I've ever heard from him in that respect was he'd eaten too much for breakfast and couldn't manage all his lunch. Finally, I must just say what a super job has been done on bringing him out of his shell. He's been engaging in various activities in the home - even judging in a contest. It was almost unbelievable to those of us who've known him for years. Great job - well done to the manager and the team. I can't thank you enough!

When my husband was there for respite, I was assured all my husband's needs would be met. Unfortunately, he is a smoker. I was assured that wasn't a problem but turns out it was a problem. He was on the first floor, very unsteady on his feet, and needed to be escorted to the smoke area in a wheelchair.
He tells me he would go down the corridor to ask to go for a cigarette to be told they would take him in 5 minutes but they would forget. I understand from my husband he only got to go for cigarettes when a member of the family went after work. He had one shower in 2 weeks and that was because he showered himself as no one assisted him or asked him. Maybe respites are treated differently.
Reply from Joanne Hollington, Senior Marketing Officer at East Park Court Residential Care Home

Thank you for your review. At Sanctuary Care and East Park Court, we take your feedback very seriously and we are working together to come to a resolution to ensure the needs of all residents are met in the future.

Our team would offer to take your loved one out for his cigarettes however he would normally refuse and wait for a family member to take him. Our team also urged him to ask us if he needed to go out after cigarette smoke was smelt in his room which unfortunately is not permitted in our care homes.

Our team are still here for you if you do wish to speak to us – my door is always open

My Mum has been resident in East Park Court Residential Care Home for three months, in that time I have seen a distinct improvement in her overall wellbeing. Without exception, the staff are fantastic and interact constantly with my Mum. She takes part in several activities including cooking, bingo,
visiting singers, one on one reminiscing sessions with old songs from the War era, which Mum remembers with clarity. On each visit she always tells me how ‘lovely’ everybody is at East Park Court and nothing is to much trouble for them and how she is helped with anything she wants. The most important thing for our family is that we know with confidence that she is safe and well looked after in a modern well-equipped setting, complete with personal bedrooms and en-suite facilities. The food is also exceptionally good and plentiful and most important of all to Mum plenty of cups of tea! Thank you all for looking after Mum, it is truly appreciated by us all.

My uncle was a resident at East Park Court for several years, and I was always impressed with the quality of care provided by staff. I do not live near the facility, so I was not able to visit as regularly as I would have liked. However, the staff were always accommodating when I called to speak with
my uncle, and they kept me apprised as to his health and well being. I felt they knew and cared for him, and I was reassured, from a distance, that the staff had his best interest at heart. The facility was clean, and the meals were nourishing. A memorable highlight was having Christmas lunch with my uncle, East Park residents and staff. It was a lovely meal and a warm, happy event; it was evident that the staff care a great deal for the residents. It is a welcoming, professionally run facility.

We were extremely nervous about using respite care for the first time for our mother, however, East Park Court staff could not have made it easier, and were so welcoming to her and us as carers. Throughout her stay, she was well looked after and met with a smile. The environment was clean, bright and
smelt fresh. Her medication was given correctly. She ate better than at home due to regular mealtimes and a well-cooked meal at lunchtime. She enjoyed a bit of pampering with a weekly hairdresser appointment and was given a chance to participate in activities like knitting etc when she normally only watches TV for company.
Most of all though, she was 'cared' for with my mother commenting that 'nothing was too much trouble, which I think is the best endorsement. I am looking forward to her returning to East Park Court for respite with the knowledge that she will be well looked after.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.471)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.471) out of 10 for East Park Court Residential Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.976 for East Park Court Residential Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (82 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 84 Ratings = 4.976
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.495 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for East Park Court Residential Care Home is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 44 registered maximum number of service users is 8.8. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 8.8 = 0.795
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
