Meadow View is a thriving, vibrant home, where residents enjoy everything from baking, painting, gardening and reminiscence sessions, to pampering, live music and regular visits from their favourite therapy dog.
In July 2023 the staff organised a ‘Virtual Cruise Week’, where they transported residents to countries across the globe. The chef recreated authentic cuisine from Ghana, Portugal and Italy to name but a few, staff dressed to the nines and the residents took part in themed activities.
And talking of food, the home’s chef, who won Best Chef in the South East Region at 2023's Sanctuary Care Chefs’ Conference, makes delicious home-made meals every day, as well as home-baked treats for afternoon tea. She knows her residents’ nutritional needs and what they love to eat, spending time getting their feedback, which shapes her menus. And every day, she creates ‘show plates’ so her residents, particularly those living with dementia who may struggle to choose, can see and smell the food, stimulating their appetite.
The gardens are magnificent, with a summer house, wheelchair-friendly pathways and a water feature. This summer the residents enjoyed growing their own vegetables, harvesting them to use in the kitchen, giving them such a sense of achievement.

Our weekly fees are individual to each of our residents and are subject to a pre-admission assessment, which is required to understand the level of care and support needed. Our 2026 weekly care fees for residential care start from £1440 but may be in the region of 30% more*. This depends on your care needs and the type of bedroom that is right for you, from our standard rooms through to our premium bedroom options.

My Father recently returned to meadow view after a short respite stay. Michael and the team welcomed him like an old friend and nothing was too much trouble. EVERY member of staff we have met have been outstanding and updated us regarding dad's condition and needs. I would not hesitate to recommend meadow view and it's truly wonderful staff who always go above and beyond what is expected.

My mother has lived at home with carers the last 7 years since her stroke. She is now having to sell her house to pay for her care. Her fear was to end up in residential care. Mum came to Meadow View with a very negative attitude. However, since Mum arrived at Meadow, the staff team have been nothing but helpful, empathetic, understanding and care for her needs. My mother has praised all the staff, is building relationships and coming to terms with the change in her circumstances. I have found the team to be helpful to us, her family, and they listen to us and act accordingly. We are happy with Mum's care.

The staff are incredibly caring and supportive. They display a complex understanding of dementia and utilise various tactics with the residents to ensure they eat well, stay calm, take part in activities and are happy. The home is always excellently clean, the rooms are comfortable and practical for care needs and homely. The staff are attentive also to family members by checking in and offering refreshments, making us feel like we are visiting a relative in their own home. The staff are worth their weight in gold. Definitely an amazing home. I feel they support and look after my relative as if they were their own family member - 5 stars!

I would like to say my brother was in Meadow View Hersden for several years, the care and patience the staff showed him was amazing. We can’t thank them enough. Sadly he died but even in the end, they were the most caring anyone could ask for. I cannot thank them enough.

I went in unannounced at midnight last week because Mum had been poorly and found a member of staff sitting in her room holding her hand because she was feeling low. The Meadow View team are really superb. Really glad CQC recognised the excellent manager and her team.

Katrina — though she much prefers to be called Kats — is one of our night Team Leaders who brings a touch of magic to Meadow View. For the past three years, she’s been calming worries, keeping everyone comfortable and somehow managing to be everywhere at once when the bells go off to ensure everyone's safety. Her long days and even longer nights are fuelled by teamwork and a strong cup of black coffee — no sugar, no milk. What she treasures most is the relationships she builds with residents: the meaningful conversations, the shared laughs, and even the occasional difficult conversations that come with the job. Through joy, challenges, growth, and the odd tear, Kats remains dedicated to the dignity and well-being of every resident.
The care home lists weekly fees per person from £1,440 for residential care (respite from £1,440). Funding accepted: Self-Funding (Private), Local Authority with Top-up, Local Authority, NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC).
